Yes, it's the 'Medieval Dead' with square-jawed bonehead Ash at his ass-kicking best. Groovy!

Salem's Lot
Excellent, faithful, and scary adaptation of Stephen King's novel with excellent performances from the entire cast. Don't watch it alone or in the dark!

Star Trek 2009,  PG-13)
Star Trek
The much-anticipated reboot of the 'Star Trek' franchise by TV wunderkind JJ Abrams doesn't disappoint. It includes plenty of kisses to long-time Trekkies while still bringing plenty of action and wonder for non-fans. While there's no replacing William Shatner's swagger, Chris Pine does admirably as James T Kirk, the headstrong and reckless cadet born to lead. Zachary Quinto not only looks just like Spock, but becomes the half-human, half-Vulcan first officer (and will make 'Heroes' fans forget all about Sylar). The most amazing performance comes from Karl Urban, best known as Eomer to 'Lord of the Rings' fans and from various action movies. Urban, as Dr Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, perfectly channels the late DeForest Kelley's irascible country doctor without coming off as a cheap imitation.
As a lifelong Trekkie myself, I waited several long months to see this after it was first announced (and even campaigned for Quinto to be cast as Spock), and I was not disappointed. Here's hoping the new Enterprise lives long and prospers.
