Gone With the Wind 1939,  G)
Gone With the Wind
What really can be said about this classic that set the mold for all romance and drama for years to come? The length is a bit long, but every minute is worth it. Outstanding performances from everyone that was in the film. An all time classic that time can never erase.
2
Almost Famous 2000,  R)
Almost Famous
Brilliant acting, brilliant cast, Brilliant.. well, everything. William kicks ass doing every teenagers dream of touring on the road with their favorite rockstars, and engaging in the traditional sex, drugs, and rock n' roll that bands like Stillwater set for that generation. I loved every minute of it.
3
Jerry Maguire 1996,  R)
Jerry Maguire
This movie, besides having Tom Cruise in it, is up there in my top romantic movies ever. Tom gives an amazing performance being a sports agent. His emotions that were put into it made me feel for him throughout the entire movie. I'm not forgetting Renee, who did an awesome job backing up Tom and giving their characters depth. The little boy was annoying at some points, to me, but he made the three of them complete. An unforgetable line from Tom, and the comedic input from Cuba makes Jerry Maguire an unforgetable love story.
4
Bus Stop 1956,  Unrated)
Bus Stop
Marilyn Monroe has always, it seems, played the ditzy blonde in a variety of the movies that she has been in. I believe she portrays that "character" to a T in this one. Don Murray is a very attractive, young cowboy. I liked how he was so persistent, and attempting to have her come home with him. He would even throw in a washer and dryer. What a dreamboat! LOL.
5
Clerks 1994,  R)
Clerks
One of the most funniest black-n-white movies I have ever seen. This, by far is 20 times better than the second one. The sex jokes and all the swearing actually do make this one pretty F****ing hilarous. LOL. The characters are normal "Joes" just like you and me.. shooting the breeze at work. Makes you think when you pass a tiny convenience store and wonder what's going on in there. A must-see for those who want their funny bone tickled.
6
The Rocky Horror Picture Show 1975,  R)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Twisted humor, catchy songs, a transexual... what more could you ask for? I'm still doing the Time Warp!
7
Batman: The Movie 1966,  PG)
Batman: The Movie
One of the most dorkiest movies ever, but I still love the "Bam" "Zoink", and all the bad special effects from 1966. What other Batman has the entire crew teaming up together to take over Gotham? Beats me!
8
Pretty Woman 1990,  R)
Pretty Woman
One of the most classic romantic movies ever! What an outstanding ending, I couldn't tell you.. b/c that would ruin the entire movie. LOL.
9
Batman Forever 1995,  PG-13)
Batman Forever
I thought the cast was kick-ass.. wasn't really a fan of Two-Face. The story was kinda slow-dragging, but I sure didn't have a problem with the uniforms that Batman and Robin were wearing. Val did a great job playing Batman.. hell, I think he did better than George Clooney did in Batman and Robin.
10
Little Miss Sunshine 2006,  R)
Little Miss Sunshine
Absolutely Laugh Out Loud Funny. The little girl nails the role to the wall, and the cast was perfect. Couldn't picture anyone else portraying the characters.
11
Pretty in Pink 1986,  PG-13)
12
The Notebook 2004,  PG-13)
The Notebook
What a tear-jerker! One of the best romance movies I have seen in a long time. Tops up with Pretty Woman, that's for sure. Outstanding acting from the leading roles, and that kiss... what a kiss! A movie that definitely makes you want to snuggle with your special someone.
13
The Addams Family 1991,  PG-13)
14
In Love and War 1996,  PG-13)
In Love and War
The storyline drags on and on, the two of them really aren't putting on their best performances.. but I really liked the love scenes between them. I felt for them, and my heart melted. I can watch this over and over again when I'm feeling blue.
15
Fun With Dick and Jane 2005,  PG-13)
Fun With Dick and Jane
What a funny movie. I like these newer roles lately that he has been taking on, but Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber will be talked about for years to come. What a great cast for some spoofs.
16
8 Mile 2002,  R)
8 Mile
They say that this is based on how Eminem started out, but I kinda don't think so. I think that Eminem is another actor that made the transition from singer to actor in a positive way. His dramatic performance kept me watching, as well as the hyped rap battle, amazing! Brittany Murphy rubbed me the wrong way in this one, maybe she was supposed to be coming off as Kim, his ex-wife for the 3rd time..? Lost count. LOL. And I never expected Kim Basinger to say what she did. That was pretty darn funny!
17
Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2005,  PG-13)
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
You can see the chemistry that the two of them created throughout the entire movie. Wasn't as bad as I thought. The action scenes with the two of them were red-hot... actually wouldn't mind going to the theater to see a sequel.
18
The Break-Up 2006,  PG-13)
The Break-Up
They had some dull moments, but they were made up for it by Vince Vaughn's witty comments. A chick flick that a guy can relate too, and actually enjoy. LOL. Too bad in real life they split up. They did good tag-teaming on-screen.
19
Coach Carter 2005,  PG-13)
20
Ferris Bueller's Day Off 1986,  PG)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
What a way to skip class for a whole day, and not get caught.
21
Heathers 1988,  R)
Heathers
The power of high school, and what it can do to anybody. A dark comedy about 4 girls so popular that they can't contain their ability to break others down, until it gets out of their hands. Christian Slater was a shady character, even I wanted to kill him.
22
School of Rock 2003,  PG-13)
School of Rock
The kids really kick butt, rocking out and learning rock'n'roll from a dropout rocker. They learn all about the classics and team up with Jack Black to really, well, rock. Just shows you that kids are capable of a lot more than they get credit for.
23
The Other Sister 1999,  PG-13)
24
Benny & Joon 1993,  PG)
Benny & Joon
I was flipping through channels on accident, and I saw Johnny.. so I figured, what the heck. A sweet romance that proves, at least in my opinion, that there is someone for everyone.
25
Meet The Fockers 2004,  PG-13)
Meet The Fockers
What a great follow-up! Not only did they cast Gaylord's perfectly screwed up family, but they still paved way for Robert De Niro, giving him the jokes and sharing them along with the rest of the cast. Maybe one more should be in the mix, maybe.. Meet The Little Focker?
26
The Birdcage 1996,  R)
The Birdcage
LOL LOL LOL. Nathan Lane and Robin Williams steal the entire movie from Gene Hackman.
27
At First Sight 1999,  PG-13)
At First Sight
It's an extremely corny storyline, but I was drawn in. I cried a lot the first time that I saw this one, b/c we all know the obvious. Virgil is blind. It made me think that when people judge others based on appearances, and all he had to do was feel.. with his heart and hands. LOL. It made me grateful and feel full of love.
28
Madea Goes to Jail 2006,  PG-13)
29
The Prince and the Showgirl 1957,  Unrated)
The Prince and the Showgirl
Another Marilyn movie that I taped off the T.V. I loved this old movie! His accent was great to listen too. I loved how he would try anything to impress her, including singing in the play that she starting in. Just shows you what love can make you do. :)
30
50 First Dates 2004,  PG-13)
50 First Dates
It's not too often that you run into a guy that really puts forth a heck of an effort to be with a girl.. especially one that can't remember what happened the previous day. Which is why I thought that this movie was so sweet. Adam Sandler did the most sweetest things just to get her to remember who he is and that they are in love. Sweet, sweet, sweet. I had no idea that it came out right before Valentine's Day. What a great idea. And you all know that with Adam Sandler, there are laughs to accompany the romance.
31
Can't Hardly Wait 1998,  PG-13)
Can't Hardly Wait
One of the many teen classics that I watched as a young teen. What teen movie have you not seen that doesn't have all the "groups" present at a huge party or rave just hanging out? I thought that they all connected together through the one character, Amanda. The beautiful, popular girl dating the a-hole jock. Hell, I was dying to see if Amanda would finally get the letter. A memorable party. Memorable movie.
32
10 Things I Hate About You 1999,  PG-13)
10 Things I Hate About You
Another teen classic for me. I did get to watch this in my Shakespeare class in High School for relating to "Taming of the Shrew". I didn't realize that until I read the play. Wonder how many teens actually even know what the play is. Modernizing the play to the movie did toon in to teens all over the place. The dad for Julia Stiles and Larisa..?, was actually pretty funny with his brief appearances. Haven't really heard from the other actors, except Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Gabrielle Union. And of course, in all the high school flicks from my time, they always find time to have a rave. Classic.
33
She's All That 1999,  PG-13)
She's All That
A classic modern version of Cinderella. Rachel Leigh Cook sports the bob and the sexy red dress that all girls around the world were wearing, shoot, even the romantic prom scene with the glowing pool.. and six pense none the richer singing us to the credits.. man, don't you just wish that could happen to you? Another classic teen movie.
34
Addams Family Values 1993,  PG-13)
35
Rat Race 2001,  PG-13)
Rat Race
This movie is so F***ing funny. Laugh out loud, slapstick humor. I couldn't believe that it turned out this good. Jon Lovitz is usually pretty funny, but his voice annoys me.
36
Road Trip 2000,  R)
Road Trip
It rubbed off like American Pie, only they weren't virgins on a mission to get laid. Tom Green, man, he was playing some ADHD character. Didn't really pay him any mind. The rest of them were great, with the sex jokes and all.
37
Napoleon Dynamite 2004,  PG)
Napoleon Dynamite
It looks so stupid, it gives the nerdy and gothic kids something to worship. Which they do, wearing the buttons on their coats and using the catch phrase "frickin' idiot" is spoken out of everyone's mouth. This movie came out on DVD shortly after my husband and I started dating, and he fell asleep to it. It all depends on if you can handle dumb humor. I could, for this movie. It could be called a cult classic, I haven't seen this much "merchandise" revolve around a movie since, well, Rocky Horror. And that's pushing it. Jon Heder, now, plays in the stupidiest movies now.. it seems like he should've stuck to drama instead of dumb-ass movies like Blades of Glory. I don't even have to see the movie to know.
38
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back 2001,  R)
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
One of the most stupidest movies of all time. And it's in my favorite movies list. But, it's like a train wreck. It's horrible to look at, but you can't keep your eyes off of it. I didn't really get why had all the celebrities on the show. Maybe to boost up some charisma. But, the one thing that you will leave this film with is Jay and Silent Bob being Jay and Silent Bob. If you followed the series that Kevin Smith made, you'll enjoy it. If not, then don't pay this any mind.
39
The Breakfast Club 1985,  R)
40
Over the Hedge 2006,  PG)
Over the Hedge
I know that I am a grown adult, but I was watching this with my daughter, and it really held her attention, as well as mine. I really enjoyed the animation, and the storyline was so cute. I strongly recommend this movie to kids. Lately, they really haven't had any cute animated kids movies lately. This one honestly tops most of them frpm the last year. Nice line-up of actors and actresses.
41
Titanic (in 3D) 2012,  PG-13)
Titanic (in 3D)
As a hopeless romantic, this movie was one of the most tear-jerking, full of love.. everything that makes a girl cry. Leonardo DiCaprio did an outstanding job, surprised that he didn't get a nominatinon for this role. I know that Kate Winslet did. The two heated up the screen, (not to mention the backseat of the car) and made me feel for the love that could never be, due to people's judgements and social standings. Similar to Romeo and Juliet, two people that had the world against their love, but stuck through it all to be together. The music fit the movie perfectly, bringing more emotion to the film. Must-see for all the hopeless romantics.
42
Clue 1985,  PG)
Clue
What a great version of the classic board/computer game. My sisters and I would watch this all the time when it was on VHS. Sometimes, it comes in on Comedy Central, for all you out there with Time Warner Cable, or cable in general. I always wanted to try on Leslie Ann Warren's (aka Miss Scarlet's) dress, that green dress with the funky sash. LOL. It actually has a great twist to it.
43
The Wedding Singer 1998,  PG-13)
The Wedding Singer
If you want to take a trip back to the 80's, buckle up and catch this movie. A typical romance about a man that doesn't realize what he has in front of him, while the wedding singer notices the girl.. and falls in love. Ranks up there for another of my favorite romance movies. Check out the song "I wanna Grow Old with You" that Adam Sandler wrote. Classic. My husband and I sing that song to each other when we are feeling blue.
44
Dodgeball - A True Underdog Story 2004,  PG-13)
Dodgeball - A True Underdog Story
Pairing up the two of the funniest actors now-a-days.. perfect. Who would've thought that someone made a movie about Dodgeball? It was funny from beginning to end. I hope to see Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn team up again for another comedy.
45
A Night at the Roxbury 1998,  PG-13)
A Night at the Roxbury
A dumb movie that really did have me watching time and time again. This is the kind of comedy that Will knows how to do. If he is given another stupid character, he stretchs it to the point where you don't want to watch. Plus, watching them on Saturday Night, you knew that they were going to get their own movie. (Superstar, Ladie's Man)
46
Superstar 1999,  PG-13)
Superstar
Molly Shannon made a great move from Saturday Night Live to cinema. Superstar, AKA Mary Katherine Gallagher, finally gets a whole hour and a half to smell her arm pits, dance around, and be.. of course.. A SUPERSTAR!
47
Grease 1978,  PG)
Grease
One of the BEST musicals ever. Unbelievable cast.. the songs are catchy and will be forever etched into my mind. Just writing this.. "I've got chills!" John looks so young in this, the hair is a trademark to the movie. (DUH.. they use the "Grease" for their hair) LOL.
48
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days 2003,  PG-13)
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Sad to say, I have been guilty of doing maybe one or two things that Kate Hudson was doing to Matt. It's a great flick to watch with your man, since Matt does throw in the "male" perspective on dating, by attempting to win a contract by proving to his workers that he can get Kate to say that she loves him. It's funny to watch the two of them trying to do the opposite of the other.
49
Dumb and Dumber 1997,  PG-13)
Dumb and Dumber
What a knock-out comedy, that is, if you can handle the stupid fart jokes, and the dumb, dumb duo of "Dumb and Dumber." It's basically watching two dumb-asses taking a road trip and doing everything that normal people wouldn't think about.. well, they do it. Classic scenes of stupidity are found everywhere, from lighting farts on fire.. to sticking tongues on frozen metal poles. These guys had it down.. and even though some of the things that they do just aren't funny, they make up for it later on as the movie continues.
50
American Pie 1999,  R)
American Pie
A classic teen accomplishment, doing the deed. Four guys making a bet to see who is able to get "lucky" before prom night. Normal, right? Wrong. These guys realize that there is more to life than getting to sleep with the hottest girl in school. They each endeavor their own different types of quirks.. of course, sexual as well as emotional. Great summary of the life of an average high school student. And, who could forget the scene with the Pie?
51
Now and Then 1995,  PG-13)
Now and Then
Now, if this doesn't sum up being a 13 year old girl, nothing will. I honestly could watch this movie a million times. All the girls had a crush on Devon Sawa, which to me, will always be remembered as the blonde-haired boy that always parted his hair down the middle. That was a style, believe it or not, for the teenage boys for me. Did Christina Ricci and him date? That mystery was left unsolved for me whenever the Teen-Boppers Magazine came out. And the unique part is, you don't have to be a flower child to watch and relate to this.. since the movie was set for back in the 70's. The *four best friends for life* conduct a seance and hope to figure out if they did in fact, bring someone back from the dead, and the many mysteries of life that some of us are still figuring out today. Loved it.
52
There's Something About Mary 1998,  R)
There's Something About Mary
The cast was picked perfectly, and the laughs just keep coming when you least expect them. Brett Favre, man, what a great 5 minute appearance. He kinda seemed dumbfounded while doing his lines, in my opinion, but he was a great pick for Mary's ex boyfriend, which we all were expecting a beefcake. And, of course, the classic "hairgel" scene will be remembered by many for a long time.
53
Zoolander 2001,  PG-13)
Zoolander
I'm not going to lie, this movie does have extremely crummy jokes, and a horrible storyline. But, Ben Stiller does make every attempt to pull off this movie. It just wasn't enough. But, for some reason, I did enjoy watching this movie..? Couldn't really tell you why, though. If it does happen to come on, I will flip, unless I haven't seen it in a really, long time. But, I haven't seen it on T.V. lately. Can't figure out why..
54
The 40 Year Old Virgin 2005,  R)
The 40 Year Old Virgin
Steve Carell did an awesome job playing a 40 Year old virgin. And in a weird way, he did leave off that vibe of "The Monk".. that creepy, clean freak. LOL. So many memorable moments that you definitely can quote to your friends over and over again. The ending, well, that was different and really doesn't tie in anywhere. Oh wait, yeah, it kinda does. Just watch the last 10 minutes and you'll totally understand. That song wouldn't have been my choice. LOL.
55
Fatal Attraction 1987,  R)
Fatal Attraction
Oh my god, what an awesome thriller movie that I strongly suggest everyone really see. With both younger Michael Douglas and Glenn Close... not to mention Glenn's outstanding performance as a psycho stalker set to ruin one man's perfect family. Hands down, these two made a great pair, believable performances from them both.
56
Peggy Sue Got Married 1986,  PG)
Peggy Sue Got Married
I rented this movie from the local library, and was kind of interested at the time, but not really. After I watched it, I usually rent it a couple of times, or wait for it on TV. What a cute, funny movie that rubs off to be the girl's version of "It's a Wonderful Life". Nic Cage's accent was pretty different, never heard that particular one, but it definitely fit the part. Jim Carrey didn't do so bad himself, but only had a short appearance. A great chick flick from the 80's!
57
Girl, Interrupted 1999,  R)
Girl, Interrupted
Outstanding acting from Jolie, but Winona was lacking something. As the main character, I was expecting her to stand up and take charge. That's where Angelina comes in. It's weird to view the mental hospital from back in the day, and then trying to compare them to nowadays. All in all, the girls form different types of relationships and stick together as they attempt to change their way of life for the better.
58
Bio-Dome 1996,  PG-13)
Bio-Dome
It's so incredibly stupid, heck, that's Pauly Shore's trademark, stupidity. But, every single time I see this on any channel, I'll leave it and watch it. It's a shame, I know, but it's kinda funny, in it's own special way.
59
A Goofy Movie 1995,  G)
A Goofy Movie
I loved it from start to finish, and would always rent this one from BlockBuster when I was a kid. I even think that I still have this one on VHS somewhere in my mother's basement. Could use a good dig-up. Max is growing up to be a teen, and develops a crush on a girl.. he attempts to impress her and tells everyone that he going to a concert of some really big shot. Goofy, of course, wants to bond with his "Lil Max" and ruins all chances of going to the concert... or does he? It's fun and cute, and some of the songs are actually catchy.
60
Waiting 2005,  R)
Waiting
After watching this movie, I could've sworn that the main restaurant where everybody works, kinda looks like AppleBees. LOL. No, the movie makes you think twice about eating out, and maybe actually leaving a decent tip. It does have it's gross moments, I'm sure everyone has had a bad experience with restaurants or fast-food joints.. either the food's not cooked or they screwed up your order. Whatever the case, watch this and then see if you treat them a little differently. LOL.
61
Dane Cook: Vicious Circle 2006,  Unrated)
Dane Cook: Vicious Circle
Just watched this for the first time last night, and I wasn't disappointed. Hell, half of the things that he was talking about, especially when he ripped on couples getting into arguments.. man, he was telling the truth! He does get heavy in the cursing, but that makes it funny. Watch it and see what I'm talking about.
62
Simon Birch 1998,  PG)
Simon Birch
This movie is so sad, so if you do end up watching this, bring a box of kleenex! Simon Birch is a smaller person that is always picked on by all the kids, except one, and they end up becoming best friends. Boys bonding, and growing up.. and focusing on little people, does open your eyes and show that any handicap can be overcome.
63
Sleeping Beauty 1959,  G)
Sleeping Beauty
One of the many all-time favorite Disney Movies that has ever been made. They sure don't make them like they used too. With the princes and the princesses and falling in love and being happily ever after.. what the heck happened? A classic must-see.
64
Edward Scissorhands 1990,  PG-13)
Edward Scissorhands
It's so weird to see Johnny Depp transform to a pasty, leather-wearing scissorhands guy, and he sure did talk funny. LOL. Love can be found in all different places, and many movies have shown us these.. they just make the disabilities strange and unusual. Having scissors for hands.. well, Tim Burton is different, so I should have expected that just by knowing that he directed the movie. Winona did a great job as the popular girl that defends Edward, and shows him all that he missed from being alone, like being in society... which is extremely huge if you live in a mountain for a really long time. LOL. It's a different kind of love, that's all I have to say.
65
What's Eating Gilbert Grape 1993,  PG-13)
What's Eating Gilbert Grape
I didn't even recognize Johnny Depp in this movie.. I thought it was the older brother in 7th Heaven. LOL. It was so sad, just everything that Johnny's character has to deal with, and still remains somewhat sane. His brother is mentally challenged and doesn't really listen well, his mother is very obese and doesn't leave the couch.. he's the only one working. Too much reality crammed into an hour and a half. But, none the less, you still cry and feel his pain and hope that he overcomes the cards he was dealt.
66
Riding in Cars with Boys 2001,  PG-13)
Riding in Cars with Boys
I really felt for this movie, watching this when I was in high school and some girls around me were pregnant, or working on their second kid. The way Drew carried the character from her being a teen to an adult was interesting to watch, and that accent was a little annoying. Her son did have it rough, but learns to outgrow the past as the two of them relive it all, beginning to end.
67
Never Been Kissed 1999,  PG-13)
Never Been Kissed
Finally, they let the underdog be king of the doghouse. Drew's character is a reporter for the paper, trying to dig up a fresh story by going undercover as a high school student. Starts off as a loser, but gets in with the popular crowd, leaving the past Josie behind her. You see a flashback of Josie that is so depressing. So, you think she derserves it. But, she was being no better than the kids that dogged her out b/c she did it all to math club that she joined, true friends. This movie was the typical chick-flick with good morals, not to pick on the nerds, because things change, 5 or 10 years from now. The movie was a great example of that.
68
Some Like It Hot 1959,  Unrated)
Some Like It Hot
One of her best performances, and the supporting guys did the roles of women.. decent. LOL. Two guys that wanna make it in showbiz can't get into a band, so they dress as girls to play in an-all girls band. Oh course, they both fall in love with the beautiful girl, and they try everything they can not to blow their cover.. and still keep Marilyn's character around. Black and white, it's still a great flick to watch.
69
Sleeping with the Enemy 1991,  R)
Sleeping with the Enemy
Julia did outstanding playing a battered woman who just wants out of her marriage. She does the classic move, has a plan and gets the ball rolling. Patrick Bergin.. man, oh man was that guy a creep, just beating her up and then expecting her to sleep with him. I was happy for her when she did get the courage to leave him and start a new life. Husband gets suspicious, and goes on a man-hunt to find her. Suspense-packed, with some disappointment.
70
Mystic River 2003,  R)
Mystic River
Whoa! It was a hard start, the situation that arose... One of the best mystery/murders that I have seen in a very long time. My first movie seeing Sean Penn, and I was quite impressed. I was confused about Kevin Bacon's wife in the movie. I was confused as to why she would always call, and then say absolutely nothing. I thought that she was a drag in the whole storyline. But, other than that, unbelievable acting from all three. Does take a little bit of time, but it's worth every minute that leads up to a great suspenseful ending.
71
An Officer and a Gentleman 1982,  R)
An Officer and a Gentleman
Where do I start? Richard Gere, growing up as a child and then being sent to a foreign country with a father with overdue promises and then having to make a man of himself all alone... enough of a plot? But wait, there's more. Not only does he do the ultimate man-making challenge, joining the Service, he also meets the love of his life, yet unaware of it the entire time. Social standing were holding them apart, but I felt my heart drop every time that he did something stupid and they weren't together. I cried at the ending, which is a very famous ending, most likely seen on the "Simpsons". If you are a romantic at heart, then this is a must.
72
Clueless 1995,  PG-13)
Clueless
As if! Every girl acted like her, and all the others envied her. Cher, was, back then, the icon that all girls wanted to portray.. wearing the animal backpacks, cell phones attached to their heads (that's still an ongoing problem.. (LOL)) and making the popular "L" for loser with their hands. Come on, you know you wanted to. I think this was one of Brittany Murphy's first movies. Can you believe the eyebrows that she had, or the frizzy hair. Time does make a difference.., totally. A teen girl's dream movie back in the 90's, and will always be looked upon by girls for the spunky attitude, and the vintage fashions.
73
The Godfather 1972,  R)
The Godfather
The drama never stopped, from start to the very long ending! Non-stop action, filled with drama, especially about the mob.. which really does interest me. A younger Al Pacino playing the key role that makes the mafia go round and round. Head of the family, making the decisions financially, "whacking" guys that stand in the way.. man, oh man.. Kept me on my toes the entire time. And to think that they did have 2 more, which I did see. Wonderful.. now, I have a favor.
74
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective 1994,  PG-13)
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
Yes, the entire movie was extremely stupid.. and yes, the guest appearances of the Miami Dolphins, Dan Marino, and the Dolphin, was actually pretty cool. But Jim's ongoing jokes consisting of farts, and boobs, really wasn't all that funny after watching it about 10 times. Thank goodness that he outgrew that. The storyline was different, and I was wondering if the dumbass would find the dolphin. Jim makes you watch the whole movie to find out.
75
The Virgin Suicides 1999,  R)
The Virgin Suicides
Gees, what a depressing movie. All of the sisters were confined in their room, unable to experience life, and look what happens. Kirsten Dunst really stood out to me in this one, b/c she was the most troubled, and she lead her sisters through, well, pretty much everything. Due to her troubles, she let her frustrations out by being with every guy that would look her way. The girls rubbed off a "Brady Bunch" vibe, being blonde and all.

Ray 2004,  PG-13)
Ray
Honestly, never really had much knowledge of Ray Charles besides the obvious that he is blind. His music is amazing to listen to, his words are full of life and the music makes you want to dance or grab a glass of booze. Jamie Foxx really raised up from television and made his way in the world, but for his acting career, this one definitely showed America that he can act. Blew me away with that performance. I now do own the complete box set of Mr. Ray Charles, and listen to his music with more respect than I did in the past. Unbelievable what one man had to overcome to make his dreams a reality.

Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me 1999,  PG-13)
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
If you didn't think that the second one could'nt hold a candle to the original, then think again. I laughed more at this one, and the entire Mini-Me bit is classic. Mike Myers keeps the laughs throughout the whole movie with plenty of innuendo all over the place. And taking on another character, Fat Bastard, was actually not too distracting from the actual plot. It seems like a spoof of James Bond, with him being English and having sexy side-kicks with him. Heather Graham accompanied him perfectly, couldn't picture anyone else for the role. Besides, Liz Hurley, of course. And that dress, awesome. The soundtrack actually really isn't that bad either. Double whammy, Yeah, Baby!

Enough 2002,  PG-13)
Enough
Another story about a battered woman who was suckered to believe that the man of her dreams was just that, until time progressed and the dream shattered into pieces. After revealing the cheating and abusive side of himself, she slowly gains courage after all the abuse to leave. Of course, he isn't going to let that happen. J LO did a great job in this, believe it or not, portraying Slim and making me feel that enough is truly enough.

The Wedding Date 2005,  PG-13)
The Wedding Date
An updated version of Pretty Woman, only flip the hooker roles from girl to guy, and BAM! These two had chemistry that sparked all over the place, so we all knew that they were going to fall in love. The soundtrack has got to be dynamite, since they did play a lot of Michael Buble. His music fits well in weddings! Shocking twist in the middle, that is well played off by all the characters. You feel it, the raw emotions that they carry on for some time, but in the end, it's a sappy movie where everyone wins in their own personal ways.

Dracula - Dead and Loving It 1995,  PG-13)
Dracula - Dead and Loving It
Oh, man! The comedy is priceless, and not too overboard, like some movies.. (Scary Movie, Date Movie). Obvious Dracula tale, with some funny and senseless characters fitting together for an hour and a half of laughs. Made my sides split with the spoofs. And it didn't go off the subject of Dracula. It never distracted from the basic storyline of the classic "Monster", but added some jokes that made it more interesting to people with lower IQ's. I'm guilty as charged.

Crash 2005,  R)
Crash
Different families of different backgrounds and personal upbringing tied together with reality being brought together with hateful slurs and demeaning thoughts of races throughout the globe. Performances were brilliant, and what a tidal wave this movie created for me. Makes you think twice about stereotypes, or about the labels that are placed on people based on their skin color.
82
Labyrinth 1986,  PG)
Labyrinth
A different kind of children's movie, but enjoyable with catchy songs sung by David Bowie. What a hairstyle the writers decided to give him. LOL. The puppets from Jim Henson were no doubt breathtaking and added more curiousity to see if in fact, Jennifer Connelly would get her baby brother back. Moral of the story that I got from it when I was a kid is be careful what you wish for, it just might come true. Or, your siblings aren't as bad as you make them out to be.
83
Hairspray 1988,  PG)
Hairspray
Goofy hairstyles, 50's style of dancing, Ricki Lake and Divine? You know that it's a funny comedy, then. Tracy Turnblatt, (Ricki) plays a obese teen from the 50's that really wants to be on a hit dance show. And, at the same time, they are trying to get the dance show to break it's racial barriers, and have anyone dance on the show. I do want to see the new one, however, it won't outshadow the original.
84
She-Devil 1989,  PG-13)
She-Devil
Knowing Roseanne's personality, she's already judged b/c she's in the movie. I felt bad for her, being the average housewive with a huge mole trying to please the unsatisfied husband. He does the obvious, and clings onto a successful, childless, beautiful writer who is going to learn the hard way not to mess with Roseanne. And man, does she make the blonde's life a living nightmare. And don't think she forgot the cheating husband, no, she doesn't. In the end, everyone gets what they derserve.

Just Friends 2005,  PG-13)
Just Friends
Everyone has heard that in high school, while your popular and big-headed, things definitely turn out for the geeks and the nerds that were picked on for their appearances. A long high school crush that never could be broken b/c of the "friend" factor, finally starts to turn Chris' way, after he loses all the weight and has the dream job of being a music producer. Fame comes with the riches, pretty girls, and amazing partys. But, he misses his high school crush, and will stop at nothing to reveal his true feelings. Funny, from start to finish. The only problem that I had was with Anna Faris' character, she was so annoying. She did great, though, showing that sometimes being popular and attractive isn't all that you need to find love.
86
White Chicks 2004,  PG-13)
White Chicks
A decent comedy that was written by and starred the Wayan Brothers. A hard task to accomplish, but can be done. Two horrible undercover cops try to prove to their boss that are better than what they show, and pretend to be two of the most annoying high-class, white girls to protect them from someone out to get them. Laughs are included, but of course, they manage to fit in some humor that you would find out of some of there other movies.. (any Scary Movie.) It's funnier than it looks. They actually do a great dance-off scene against the other rivals. It's worth a watch.

Homeward Bound - The Incredible Journey 1993,  G)
Homeward Bound - The Incredible Journey
What an adorable movie about 3 pets trying to make their way home to their owners. I recongized Michael J. Fox's voice the second that his "dog" came on. I had a dog just like Shadow back when I was a teen, so I really clicked well with the character of Shadow, and how emotional the family was when they found their pets vanished. They do have some cute adventures while they learn all about the other animals that aren't domesticated. They also learn that being a cat or a dog, they all share the same home, and will help each other so they all can go home.
88
The Nightmare Before Christmas 1993,  PG)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
One of the best Halloween movies to enjoy for the kids and adults. The animation is very different, but does appear somewhat similiar to Corpse Bride, but storylines don't even come close to comparison. Jack is sick of doing the same routine for Halloween, so he tried to become educated in Christmas. Only problem is, he's different fitting into another holiday. Very entertaining, with some great musical numbers. Jack the pumpkin king will be a legendary Halloween character.

Best in Show 2000,  PG-13)
Best in Show
Dog shows were never this entertaining to me, until I watched this. It makes a mockery of people who enter their dogs into competition. Extreme originality was well-thought in the dog-owners, as well as the different breeds of dogs. Some parts are a little slow, when we get to know each of the dog owners, and what little quirks that they each possess. But, then it wraps into a great comic treat.

American Pie 2 2001,  R)
American Pie 2
If you didn't think that they could make a comeback, think again. Not only did they match the previous, but they went an extra step and continue with the laughs and all the sexual humor that you could possibly imagine. Finally, Jim goes to Band Camp acting as a mentally challenged boy and also meets up with Michelle, the sexually "up to speed" band geek and attempts to help him win the heart of the foreign exchange student with her knowledge. The rest is summer love, and with Stifler in the mix, you know something is bound to happen.
92
American Wedding 2003,  R)
American Wedding
Once again, they pull it off with a twist. Remember Michelle, the band geek and Jim the "Pie Man"? They finally admit their feelings for each other, and get engaged. Everyone is so excited, except Stifler, until Michelle brings her kid sister in the picture. Stifler plays a prude to get into her pants. He definitely does get what he's looking for. It manages to bring some laughs, yet again to wrap up the hit trilogy. You won't look at dog crap the same, trust me.
93
Dirty Dancing - Havana Nights 2004,  PG-13)
Dirty Dancing - Havana Nights
Nothing could ever compare to the original starring Jennifer Gray, but this is a decent remake. Moving into another style of dirty dancing, racial barriers are also broken. An uptown white girl moves to Cuba where she has a summer fling with the Hispanic bellhop and learns to stop being prude. The dancing is entertaining to watch and the two make a cute couple, actually. The singer in the club, just so happens to be Mya. She does a great job singing Swing music, which fits the movie nicely. And Patrick Swayze being a dance instructor? That was pushing it, but he still has the dance moves stored in a closet, and he does bring them out for his 5 minute close-up.

A League of Their Own 1992,  PG)
A League of Their Own
Not even aware that women did play baseball while the men went to war was outstanding. You are taken back with each individual woman's story about how the league touched their lives, and the memories they all share being a team. Tom Hanks really "hits home" starring as their coach. Being an ex-ball player, he has scratched in his mind that women shouldn't and can't play baseball. Slowly, he develops confidence in the girls that they can in fact, play the game and keep up with men. Lots of famous faces that are unforgetable, this is a great family movie that promotes the fact that women are capable of doing whatever their heart desires.

Peter Pan 1960,  Unrated)
Peter Pan
Ok, the dancing and the singing is definitely over the top. Peter Pan is portrayed by a female, Tinkerbell is nothing more than a flickering light, and the crocodile is someone crawling around on the floor. But, come on. I've seen this movie at least 20 times in my childhood, and I still know all the corny songs. It's almost identical to the Disney version. Plus, the ending is original and enjoyable. And all of you that still have the Video Cassette, remember the beginning with the commerical about the raisinets? It will always be a classic to me, regardless of all the ridiculous costumes and dance moves.
96
American Dreamz 2002,  PG-13)
American Dreamz
American Idol better step aside to this contest. Not only was this eye-opening review about the clear fact that more people are interested in the next pop star than voting for the President. The statistics of the calls placed on this fictional show can be compared to the reality hit television show. And Simon Cowell's lookalike is not only British, but also very similar in looks. Hugh Grant! All the personalities featured on the show from the different backgrounds and lack of singing talents were unique and interesting to watch. And Dennis Quaid's portrayal of the President.. reminds me of another President, none other than Mr. George W. Bush. Clearly, the movie wanted to poke fun of some celebrities and prove that American Idol is starting to get over-rated.
97
The Scorpion King 2002,  PG-13)
The Scorpion King
The Rock, very easily made the transition from wrestling to the Big Screen. This movie was all about him, clearly. And he took full advantage of the screen time that he was given. Action roles fit him perfectly, as this movie clearly defends. Although the plot was vague, the action from the Rock, as well as the actor from Green Mile, did a great job with all the fighting scenes. They did also add some funny one-liners for all the actors to use, given the exception of the evil, bad guy. And the Rock's little annoying friend that rides a donkey..., well, he wasn't that interesting to pay attention too. Seemed too stupid, but the Rock covered up that little mistake.

License to Wed 2007,  PG-13)
License to Wed
And to think that this was the new Adam Sandler movie. LOL. I won sneak peak tickets to see this movie off of a local radio station, and let me tell you.. Robin Williams, without his comedic excellence, would leave the movie hanging high and dry. With the help of Robin's little sidekick pastor wannabe, they both dive deep with a newly engaged couple and throw at them some typical situations that married life will bring, with a twist. All the "tests" that they have to endure in order to be married in the church, are hilarous and will have you gasping for breath. Kudos to the new guy that plays Mandy Moore's love interest. Possibly, another new comedian.

Cruel Intentions 1999,  R)
Cruel Intentions
Sarah Michelle Gellar proves that she can do better than acting on Buffy in this drama/thiller. All four actors were outstanding, and I would bite my lip whenever the evil sister would come on and stir up trouble, just because she could. Sebastian's character was a crude pig, ruining lives to make his seem tolerable. Selma Blair's character was rather stupid, for common terms. Perhaps that was supposed to be the case, seeing as the movie was primarily focusing on virginity, innocence and purity. Well, sexually that is.

Selena 1997,  PG)
Selena
Brilliant portrayal of Selena on J-Lo's part. Never have I ever heard of her until I saw this movie. Another life taken so young as her dreams were taking off full blast. From the very beginning of her life, we are going with her and experiencing love, triumph and hardships that life throws at us each and everyday. We see how Selena dealt with issues, both business and personal, all the way to her demise. And, if you look closely at the real Selena and Jennifer Lopez, the two of them do resemble a similar look. And, J-Lo gives the audience what they want, in terms of the live performances portraying Selena. Heck, I don't speak Spanish, but I could sing one or two songs after seeing this movie repeatedly. Another biography that is interesting to watch.

The Devil Wears Prada 2006,  PG-13)
The Devil Wears Prada
Wow, that wasn't at all what I expected. The beginning was a real drag, so I did turn it off for an entire day. Then, my curiousity got to me, and I decided to go back and re-watch it. Meryl Streep made this movie her own, with the help of Anne Hathaway, who makes a comeback from some look-like disappointments, "Princess Diaries" "Ella Enchanted" and breaks out into adult roles. Note the look-like movies, I haven't seen them, nor do I plan on it. Definitely an improvement, in my opinion. Meryl's character, demands unreasonable requests, making life harder on poor Andrea, aka Anne Hathaway. Perhaps the portrayal of fashion designers and staff are indeed a close 2nd to the actuals. And, the clothing picked for each character fit their personalities, and each article of clothing would be definitely found in my closet, if I had the assets. Cute love story, and original bitchiness.

Pulp Fiction 1994,  R)
Pulp Fiction
Completely blown away by each individual character, well.. except the guys that helped John Travolta bring Uma Thurman back from the drug overdose. They were lacking interest. Different storylines that, in the end, tie togther when the day is done. I loved the entire skit between Uma Thurman & John Travolta, from eating at the 50's style restaurant and the memorable dance off. I have no idea what made me want to watch Kill Bill 1 & 2 shortly after the movie ended. LOL. Witty comments, graphic acts of violence, and movie stars all over the place, a must-see of the 90's.

The Sweetest Thing 2002,  R)
The Sweetest Thing
With outstanding chemistry from Selma, Christina, and Cameron.. the three girls did an outstanding job relating to the single "party" crowd and breaking down the true meaning of romance, from a woman's point of view. Full of sexual jokes and hilarous moments, this one will have you on your seat wondering what each girl will endure in the hour and a half. You don't really feel emotion towards Cameron's character, being cruel to all men that make the effort to approach her. Selma's character, now.. she's comic relief throughout the movie, as she learns to move on from a long-term relationship and indulges in the single life. Christina Applegate is always fun to watch, since being Kelly Bundy on Married with Children.. I like to see what she has going on in her movie career. A all-time great adult chick flick that will have you rolling on the floor.

Election 1999,  R)
Election
I haven't seen Matt Broderick since the Cable Guy, and that was a flop in itself. Election dives into different cliques of high school. The overachiever, the burnout, the jock. It's a safe play for them to hit, in order to keep the attention spans of teens and young adults. The overachiever, Reese Witherspoon, really dives into this performance. She had me wanting to strangle her for anything that did come out of her mouth. Quite the character. Matthew Broderick's character, now that is a clear demostration of bad luck. I didn't understand why he would try to have an affair with his wife's best friend. That storyline was a bit too much. His bad luck was very entertaining, especially how much one decision can truly destroy your life. Watch the movie for that key detail. The other characters were there to fill the majority of the timeslot. Matthew and Reese stole this movie from underneath them. They deliver great performances that will have you waiting to see what happens to each character.

Norbit 2007,  PG-13)
Norbit
I never would have thought that Eddie Murphy could talk so quietly. Norbit, what a name to work with. It does fit the whole name-game concept that they used. His extremely large tap-dancing wife, Rasputia. If you do compare the Nutty Professor and Norbit, you will find some similar characteristics. Eddie Murphy plays two roles -- he plays more than two in the Nutty Professor. Two, well, three attractive girls are in both films. Jada Pinkett Smith, Janet Jackson and Thandie Newton. It's always about fat vs skinny in both. Buddy Love and Norbit.. handsome vs dork. Eddie Murphy is sticking to roles that he knows best, and he does it again for Norbit.

Music and Lyrics 2007,  PG-13)
Music and Lyrics
Isn't Hugh Grant funny to watch in all these romantic comedies that he decides to take part in? Drew Barrymore also does a great job playing characters that tend to creep on the "slow" side. Her character is an average girl that knows how to make words rhyme together. Once been used, she is reluctant to help an old one-hit wonder regain his status. As the two slowly start to form a bond, the sparks between the two of them are sweet to watch. Kristen Johnson does a great job being the supporting actress, playing a wife that is absolutely in love with Hugh Grant's character band. It's a cuddle movie, so grab your man and head to the sofa with this flick.

Superbad 2007,  R)
Superbad
McLovin! LOL. What a funny movie! It does have a lot of similar ideas compared to American Pie, but these guys dressed like they were from the 70's, thinking that liquor would help them get laid! The main crew, the three stooges, are original and were well-thought out. The cops, well, they are OK, but the main focus was on the teens and their unique views on alcohol and girls. I was rooting for Fogle the entire time, from start to finish. The others are funny in their own ways, but Fogle adds the spice on the cake for this one. I just bought it the other day, and this one will be watched time and time again. I really wanted to know where they got the name for the movie. Did they think that it was going to be a dud at the box office? I wanna know.

Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav 2007,  Unrated)
Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav
Flavor Flav! He's a dorky rap artist from the late 80's-early 90's, and for some reason, he wants a lover to find on a reality TV show. Does that sum up his career? The comedy cast that "roasts" Flav do their jobs perfectly. The funniest of them all is the Queen of Mean, Lisa Lampanelli. She came with some brutal jokes, but they are hilarous! Carrot Top was the only lame one, but that's not back for all the comedians not to stink except one. If you need a good laugh on account of someone else, then Roast Flav.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist 2008,  PG-13)
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
Michael Cera seems not to be able to break away from the "vintage" roles, but this one is another film that he can be happy with. What a wild, crazy night for the group that deals with teenage problems, such as sex, alcohol and just jamming to Where's Fluffy? You will figure that one out, but that whole idea was original, and a little over-drawn, but ties in with the movie in general. I fell for Norah, and wonder what other acting gigs that she has lined up. Funny teen drama.
