3
The Last House on the Left 1972,  R)
4
Au Hasard Balthazar 1966,  Unrated)
Au Hasard Balthazar
This work would not feel out of place among the greatest pictures spawned by the likes of Bergman or Bunuel; surprisingly enough, it's widely bold for its time and its moral statement still appear relevent 30 years after its original release.
5
The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things 2004,  R)
The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things
I've been waiting for this movie for 29 long, trivial and useless years.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that if David Lynch was God, Asia Argento would be...the Holy Spirit. Or something of that sort. You got my point don't you?
6
Diabolique (Les Diaboliques) 1954,  Unrated)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974,  R)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The astounding ending scene, Leatherface swaying in the sunrise with his droning chainsaw justifies by itself the very existence and subsequent worshiping of this movie.

Psycho
When I was like 10 or 12, I found it so fucking scary, and smart in the meantime. This still stands as one of the very few movies that actually make me shit my pants.
17
Persona 1966,  Unrated)
18
19
Le Mépris (Contempt) 1963,  PG)
20
The Holy Mountain 1973,  R)
21
La Vie Nouvelle (A New Life) 2002,  Unrated)
La Vie Nouvelle (A New Life)
Grandrieux is something of the French answer to Lynch... this one is VERY deranged, though.
22
The Gag Kings (Les Rois du Gag) 1985,  Unrated)
23
Calmos (Cool, Calm and Collected) (Femmes fatales) 1976,  Unrated)
Calmos (Cool, Calm and Collected) (Femmes fatales)
24
La Maman et la putain (The Mother and the Whore) 1973,  Unrated)
La Maman et la putain (The Mother and the Whore)
