Gone With the Wind 1939,  G)
Gone With the Wind
What I DON'T love about this movie? I love everything about it. It's dramatic, it's an epic and it's controversial! It's even fashionable.. This is how I fell in love with Clark Gable...
2
Pride and Prejudice 2005,  PG)
Pride and Prejudice
I love Jane Austen, and I love how she created such character like Elizabeth Bennet. And Joe Wright succeeded in making it more 'recent' but still maintains the same feel. Matthew Macfadyen and Keira were brilliant. The costume stays true to the time when Austen CREATED Elizabeth, not the time she PUBLISHED PnP... loved it.
3
Silent Hill 2006,  R)
Silent Hill
This is the only game-turn-movie that I like. It stays true to the original creatures in Silent Hill the game and ACTUALLY have a storyline, and not turning into some cheap zombie movie cough*Resident Evil*cough
4
Stranger Than Fiction 2006,  PG-13)
Stranger Than Fiction
As a film lover I love it. As a novelist, I love it even more.
5
Head of State 2003,  PG-13)
Head of State
Sometimes it's more fun to see the lighter side of politics... and Chris Rock just plainly made it hysterical. One of my favorite comedy about politics
6
The Sound of Music 1965,  G)
The Sound of Music
Long before Mia Farrow popularized the Mia-Farrow haircut, Julie Andrews did it first. It's not just a mindless musical.
7
Catch Me If You Can 2002,  PG-13)
Catch Me If You Can
This is how Leo shows the world he's not just some boyband-lookalike
8
Stardust 2007,  PG-13)
Stardust
This is a perfect fantasy movie for me. It's not draggy, it's not too metaphorical, it has a creative twist and it turns Neil gaiman's semi-porno-violent graphic novel watchable...
9
Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance) 2005,  R)
Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance)
Lee Young-Ae shed her goody goody jang geum-look to play this complicated lady in this Park Chan-Wook's third installment of vengeance trilogy. I prefer this one rather than Sympathy for Mr Vengeance and Olboy because it shows a woman's perspective of revenge. And it's damn cold....
10
Kingdom of Heaven 2005,  R)
Kingdom of Heaven
It's not Hollywood's cliche of white men wins all. I love it cuz it didn't taint Saladin's real image. Scott's own examination of religious conflict...
11
Wasabi 2001,  R)
12
Mean Girls 2004,  PG-13)
Mean Girls
It was the best thing ever to give the right to adapt the book to Tina Fey. She made it not only 'dramatic', and witty but also honest. Not just an average teen movie
13
Sik san (God of Cookery) 1997,  Unrated)
Sik san (God of Cookery)
Of all Sing jai's movies, this one I liked best. It started Sing's brand of mouleitou; fallen hero, ugly heroins and unknown but talented sidekicks... He was able to depart from WongJing and find his own funnybone...
14
The Magnificent Seven 1960,  R)
The Magnificent Seven
Strangely-adapted from Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai... love it because of Yul Bryner.
15
The Silence of the Lambs 1991,  R)
The Silence of the Lambs
Disturbing. If you wanna go all out messed up in a cool way, you go Hanibal Lecter-style...
16
Fulltime Killer 2001,  R)
Fulltime Killer
killing with style... (ok, I admit... my first intention was 'SORIMACHI TAKESHI')...
17
The Godfather 1972,  R)
The Godfather
After yeaaaars, I finally watched it. In Bandung! Talk about as FAR as the eyes can see, eh?
18
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
I fell in love...
19
One Last Dance 2005,  PG-13)
One Last Dance
IIIIII LOVE IT! I don't care. Love the style, the plot, the characters, the actors, the lines, the cine'tog. I will kill every other person who hates it.

Misery 1990,  R)
Misery
As a kid, I didn't understand the movie. As an adult, I think it's genius!
