The Best Movies i've seen in my life in the order in which i like them and they all remind me why i love films and the comic book characters about those films in general.
''My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." ''
Forrest Gump, while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments, but his true love, Jenny, eludes him.
: Momma Gump gives out that memorable life lesson ever - among others - to her gifted son as to see how unpredictable things would get when you see or do them by luck. As such, they were miracles that shaped your way of life forever. Forrest Gump is an inspiring epic film that resonates the nostalgia of the days bygone and a touching story that defines moments for the man who is no different than everyone else due to his intelligence, making it THE BEST MOVIE EVER in the genre of historical drama. It's also a fine love story for the parts focusing on the boy and girl who take paths of their own, even if it not forgetting each other. I liked it how the titular character had his image digitally inserted into archival footage of people like John F. Kennedy, and while he wasn't real, he did at least leave a mark on history forever. Even more important than that was how influentially strong his mom, Jenny, and Lt. Dan made on Forrest's life by the relationships he had through them. With those things that's what I liked about a movie so well-made that I always yearn to see it again all the time. BONUS APPEARANCE: In his first ever filming role a young Haley Joel Osment plays the son of Forrest.he characters all seem to have their fair share of problems: For instance Jenny stumbles from one bad trip to another, Lieutenant Dan loses his legs, then his mind at war, while everybody else seems to engage in acts of relentless and tragic idiocy. All through this Forrest is the pinnacle and rock that anchors all the proceedings, the unchanging element. He sees the world in simple terms, intent on doing the right thing. In this movie it's not Forrest that's retarded, it's indeed the rest of the world. Forrest Gump mentions and addresses many of the crucial American wounds of the 20th century such as: Vietnam, relationships with African-Americans, drugs, capitalism and the mistreatment of women. Naturally Forrest himself takes the morally upright line on all of these, he fights in Vietnam then rejects war as hell, makes best friends with the African-American Bubba, rejects drugs, becomes a national sporting hero, makes a million without even trying, looks for love with Jenny but loses her despite treating her better than any other man ever did. The interactions and contradictions between Forrest and his more worldly, more cynical cast-mates is the source of much humour, some of it quite dark. Integrating Forrest into various bits of historical footage was quirky and interesting, though played no significant part in the story.
''What's normal anyways?''
The acting is strong, the narrative is compelling enough and its semi-documentary style direction is consistent and provides clarity and pace. However Forrest Gump is little more than an ideological fairy story, partly to keep viewers believing in the cause. Would that we could have a world where the best-intentioned half-wit could pop up at opportune moments in history, winning hearts, amassing a fortune, becoming famous. ,
The new Forrest Gump. Benjamin Button presents the perfect story of a different individual passing through history from a unique and beautiful perspective. Cool a great movie that must be watched you aint now whats coneing for ya in the curios case of benjamin button this movie is an awsome life based on a wonderful book benjamin butons is a half extrodinary due to the fact he never knew who loved until he is almost dead.
This great sequel to the Terminator has become a sci-fi achievement it has great action, great acting great everything. This great action sequel Terminator 2 Judgment day is about the decade after Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) destroyed the original Terminator, a second unstoppable killing machine (Arnold Schwarzenegger) arrives from the post-apocalyptic year 2029. But this time his mission is to stop an even deadlier Terminator, the T-1000 (Robert Patrick), made entirely of shape-shifting liquid metal and determined to kill young John Connor (Edward Furlong), the future leader of the human resistance. Sarah, John, and the Terminator counter by going after the scientist responsible for developing Skynet, the computer system fated to destroy humanity, leading to an explosive and spectacular clash with the fate of humanity in the balance. Whereas James Cameron's original THE TERMINATOR was a low-budget marvel of efficiency and speed, TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY is an action-packed blockbuster with some of the most amazing stunts ever filmed and ground-breaking, Academy Award-winning special effects. Star Schwarzenegger was paid in the form of a $15 million dollar jet to revisit his most famous role as the Terminator, this time made kinder and gentler against the silent, relentless T-1000. One of the most popular films of the 1990s, James Cameron's action masterpiece is both a thoughtful look at violence in human nature and an exciting, nonstop thrill ride.
star wars episode iii was the best in the whole series it was powerful movie also its filled with action drama and suspense you must watch this movie cause this movie is the end of george lucas's greatest series. The saga is now complete. And the Sith has returned. The story of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith leaves where Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones left off: Evil is everywhere. The Clone Wars are raging over the galaxy for three years. There are heroes on both Republic and Separatist sides and the evil droid-looking General Grievous attacks. Anakin Skywalker is haunted by nightmares of his wife Padme Amidala dying in childbirth, so he seeks Palpatine (a.k.a. Darth Sidious) for help and better counsel while challenging Obi-Wan Kenobi's authority, leading to his ascent to the dark side of the Force as Darth Vader. Over the galaxy, the silence of Sith oppression falls with the formation of the Galactic Empire out of the fragile Republic, but broken only the birth of future Rebel Alliance members Luke and Leia. Returning from Attack Of The Clones for their respective roles as well as new characters - and directed by George Lucas, of course - this Star Wars story chapter has very good dialogue from the following cast members: 1.) Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) 2.) Natalie Portman (Padme Amidala) 3.) Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader) 4.) James Earl Jones (Darth Vader's voice) 5.) Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious) 6.) Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu) 7.) Kenny Baker (R2-D2) 8.) Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) Star Wars: Episode III has the following memorable quotes that I'll never forget: 1.) "This is where the fun begins." (Anakin Skywalker) 2.) "Oh, I have a bad feeling about this." (Obi-Wan Kenobi) 3.) "The dark side of the force has many abilities some consider to be unnatural." (Palpatine) 4.) "Every single Jedi, including your friend Obi-Wan Kenobi, is now an enemy of the Republic." (Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine) 5.) "Execute Order 66." (Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine) 6.) "Destroy the Sith we must." (Yoda) 7.) "If you're not with me, then you're my enemy." (Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader) 9.) Frank Oz (Yoda)
10.) Jimmy Smits (Senator Bail Organa) 11.) Temuera Morrison (Commander Cody) 12.) Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) 13.) Christopher Lee (Count Dooku) 14.) Silas Carson (Ki-Adi-Mundi/Nute Gunray) After 28 years since the release of the first Star Wars, it was an exciting moment for fans everywhere that Sith happens as the Sith hits the fan with the sixth and final installment of the film series. Since the release of The Phantom Menace in 1999, I had anticipated for Anakin's descent into the dark side, and six years later, With Star Wars: Episode III being part of this space opera saga at its finest, I'll watch it all over again for the classic action, adventure, and SFX that will blow my mind away. So, what the heck are you waiting for? Don't miss it.

You v gotta friend in me , no toys get left behind. Despite this, I was not worried when I heard that there would be a thrid installment to Toy Story, my favourite movie as a child. The gap between Toy Story 1 and 2 was four years, which is respectable. It's been eleven years since Toy Story 2, so it seems like it's been too long for the third insallment to be released, right? Wrong. The reason I was not worried was because I knew the movie was in safe hands: Pixar, the best animation studio. The Toy story trilogy is a legend and is my favorite trilogy of all time. The first computer animated motion picture is back and better than ever in the third and final chapter! The time has come Andys all grown up so what must the toys do. Daycare. They go to a daycare called sunnyside where they thought sweet but they were wrong! As it turns out daycare is a toys very own prison. So they must escape. And watch out WOODY or BUZZ LIGHTYEAR could die. This is my favorite animated movie know. I love all those toys except lotso they v gotta friend in me. AND I WILL LOVE WOODY BUZZ AND JESSIE TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!
You die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain Plot/Summary,Batman and Gordon find alliance with a newly appointed DA Harvey Dent to stop a vicious killer with a warped sense of humor known only as The Joker, a threat to both the good, and the evil of Gotham City. My Review It isn't an overstatement to call The Dark Knight the most sophisticated and ambitious work of its kind. Superior to all three Spider-Man installments and even its amazing predecessor in terms of conceptualization, writing, acting, and direction, Nolan's follow-up to Batman Begins is a dark, complex and disturbing film, not the least of which because it grafts its heroics onto the blueprint of actual reality rather than that of spandex-clad supermen. And while such a distinction may make little difference to those already eagerly anticipating the return of the caped crusader, suffice it to say that The Dark Knight qualifies as the first official comic book adaptation that truly succeeds in being a great artistic achievement in its own right.
Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne, the billionaire playboy who moonlights as Batman. Having eased more comfortably into a lifestyle of excess, Wayne lurks on the fringes of his family's corporation as CEO Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) runs the boardroom. But when an ambitious district attorney named Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) comes forward to challenge Gotham City's villainy through proper legal channels, the man also known as Batman sees an opportunity to replace his vigilante persona with a figure of virtue who will truly inspire the best in the citizenry.
Unfortunately, Batman's success as a crime fighter has generated new problems for Gotham, including a consolidation of the crime lords who once controlled the city independently. Meanwhile, a new adversary named The Joker (Heath Ledger) proves particularly dangerous because he seeks not only to advance the cause of Gotham's underworld, but obliterate the foundations of liberty and order that Batman protects. Torn between championing Dent and meting out justice as a masked vigilante, Wayne soon finds himself at a crossroads between being the hero that Gotham needs and the one it deserves.

The great triumph of The Dark Knight is that it manages for the first time ever in the history of the genre to transplant comic book theatrics into the real world - and moreover, to examine precisely what it could mean if a person decided to strap on a super-suit and start attacking the world's criminals. The first film certainly hinted at this possibility, thrusting the hero and his alter-ego into a world where Wayne's frivolity was as despised as Batman's vigilantism. But even with real-world explanations for such improbabilities as Scarecrow's ability to scare, this was still a world where the Batmobile was cool and the climactic battle took place on a speeding train as a bomb ticked toward its inevitable explosion. Here, the Tumbler barely survives its first appearance and with the exception of one or two cooler-than-cool moves that will no doubt thrill fans, its replacement/substitute - the Batpod - serves as a largely utilitarian device for Batman to get from one crime scene to the next. (That said, I still want one.)
More important than this, however, is the idea that Batman is not just a guy in a suit, but a symbol and there are people in the film - most notably The Joker - who want to destroy that symbol. While Batman's identity remains secret and his motives unknown to Gothamites, he represents hope in a city that has little to spare and embodies a pursuit of justice - and further, a code of behavior - that quite literally threatens these criminals' way of life. By throwing Gotham into chaos and testing the limits to which Batman holds himself, The Joker is not merely plying death and destruction but willfully destroying the philosophical foundations of organized society. The closest such examination another comic book-oriented film has ever attempted was the emotional throughline of the Spider-Man films. Peter Parker's struggle was almost exclusively personal, whereas Wayne not only has to find a way to maintain his moral compass, but consider what the repercussions of his heroism are to both the public and the criminals themselves.
While all of this sounds lofty - and it is - Nolan examines these themes in beautifully human terms, projecting his examination of "the hero" into the hearts and minds of his characters. Wayne, less outwardly conflicted than in Batman Begins, sees Dent's ascension as an opportunity to stop playing dress up and reunite with Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) - the one woman who knows his secret. Meanwhile, Dent and his sometimes partner Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) look at Batman's existence as a good thing, a fulcrum against which they can enforce the law and sometimes bend rules to accomplish loftier goals. And, of course, The Joker wants to destroy all of that, albeit less because of some law of movie villainy than because he sees his existence as the necessary antithesis - or perhaps ultimate extension - of the murky morality of Batman's brand of justice. When, after all, was the last time a movie criminal wasn't merely mad, but had a deeper ideological motivation for his dastardly deeds? Perhaps bolstered by the success of the first film, Nolan reaches out further with his storytelling and camerawork in The Dark Knight to create an ongoing, palpable feeling of tension that never relents through the entirety of the film's two and a half hour running time. There is a hugeness to the narrative itself, which Nolan enhances first by shooting partially on IMAX film stock (which will surely be lost to those unlucky enough to be too far to see the film in the format), but he then builds this haunting atmosphere steadily from one scene to the next, building anticipation for the moments when the violence will finally erupt.
That he occasionally veers into comic book glibness with one-liners undermines none of the intensity; on the contrary, these moments provide a release that is absolutely necessary to keeping the audience from succumbing to The Joker's febrile madness. Meanwhile, the violence is quite possibly the most intense I have ever seen in a PG-13 film, leaving myself and others wondering how The Dark Knight avoided an R. But what is more disturbing is the unrelenting menace that hovers over every scene like a dark cloud. Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard's leitmotif for The Joker sounds like a cross between Ligeti's "Lux Aeterna" (from 2001) and the scraping, metallic curlicue that was used in trailers for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and enhances the clenched-fist feeling that anything can and will happen at any moment, even scenes in which he doesn't appear.
Like few other mythology-based movies, The Dark Knight truly seems to think of everything, be it conceptual or purely logical. Credit Nolan and his brother Jonathan (who also helped conceive The Prestige) for really digging into Batman's world, turning over the soil and examining its roots for possible deficiencies. While this generally speaks to the film's plausibility, they also have the presence of mind to consider such things as Lucius Fox's considerable monetary expenditures - not to mention his entire division - and how and where a paper trail might eventually lead to it. Again, however, these are not ideas or even subplots to which vast amounts of screen time are devoted, but simply revealed, explained and dealt with as they might arise in real life.
Bale is predictably effective as both Wayne and Batman this time around, playing both with greater assurance than in Batman Begins (indeed, he and his characters seem to possess more confidence). Though Wayne is a necessary second-fiddle to Batman, he is a better defined and more poised character in this film - even when he's indulging the excesses of his trust fund - and he understands the value of being in a position to help someone like Dent, be it monetarily as himself or physically as Batman. Also great is the rest of the original cast, all of whom seem as comfortable in their characters as if they'd created them themselves. Oldman in particular creates a portrait of virtue that shows a roiling well of doubt underneath, and yet always conveys effortless authority.
Meanwhile taking over for Katie Holmes, Gyllenhaal adds real depth and energy to Rachel Dawes, showing how her feelings for Bruce Wayne aren't simply unrequited, but actually based in both sincere affection and common sense. And Eckhart more or less combines all of the disparate roles he's played in the past - lout, huckster, loyal companion - into one seamless portrayal of a man determined to make things better but not quite sure how to accomplish that goal in the right way.
Finally, there's Ledger, whose performance I suspect will be the subject of many analyses of all sorts in the weeks and months to come. What he does with The Joker is, quite frankly, nothing short of transcendent. Early in the film he explains the origins of his trademark facial scars, and you worry for a moment that the filmmakers are giving this psychopath some kind of convenient explanation, which, talented though he was, Ledger won't be able to overcome. But by the third time he's explained where they come from - each time telling a different tale - you realize that Ledger was a master of his craft, only in his final years finding roles that truly offered him the chance to explore that mastery. His is the definitive movie Joker, and he owns the role and achieves a level of abject insanity that is terrifying as it is irresistible.
Overall, the film does maintain a steady pace and function with such continuously unnerving momentum that it occasionally seems like a second installment. (There are plenty of appropriate comparisons to other sequels its quality mirrors, if not possibly surpasses: Toy Story 2, The Empire Strikes Back, The Godfather Part II, etc.) In fact, so well-executed is this film that even the title - or at least its true meaning - seemed to catch its audience off guard, until it gets explained, expertly and poetically, at the very end of the movie.
A screenwriting professor of mine once said that what happens in a story must be surprising but expected, and Nolan's approach to The Dark Knight epitomizes this maxim. He gives you exactly what you want, but does it so well that it manages to completely catch you off guard when it happens. But there really is no better way to describe The Dark Knight than to call it a great work of art because it transcends both the boundaries of comic book moviemaking and even the parameters of good filmmaking. What Nolan and Co. have created doesn't just function as a thrill ride or even a terrific movie, but rather as a substantive and philosophical examination of why we need heroes, and then when we need them, what they mean.

Plot/SummaryFollowing a mysterious absence of several years, Superman comes back to Earth -- but things have changed. While an old enemy plots to render him powerless once and for all, The Man of Steel faces the heartbreaking realization that the woman he loves, Lois Lane, has moved on with her life. Or has she? Superman's bittersweet return challenges him to bridge the distance between them while finding a place in a society that has learned to survive without him. In an attempt to protect the world he loves from cataclysmic destruction, Superman embarks on an epic journey of redemption that takes him from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of outer space. MY Review This would have been the start of a great superman reboot due to some great facts that i am about to explain such as Brandon Routh making such a great Clark Kent aka Superman and also does great in his performance. Along with it being just like the first film but a little better even though it didn't have the great quotes from the first film but still takes wonderful things into mind such as being a good comic book adaption and great film at the same time. From one friend of mine it doesn't get the respect it deserves but like i said this would have been a great start to a reboot due to cast and story and suspense and last two most important things is that it was a good comic book adaption and a good film.
Plot/Summary,This is not just another mission. The IMF is shut down when it's implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization's name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this. Cast&Director Director(Brad Bird) Tom Cruise(Ethan Hunt) Simon Pegg(Benji) Paula Patton(Jane Carter) Jeremy Renner(Brandt) Ving(Luther Stickell) Vladimir Mashkovik(Anatoly Sidirov) Samuli Edelmann(Wistrom) My Review No Plan,No Contact,No Backup,No Choice This Has to be one of the greatest action films of all time i mean it's the kind of Mission Impossible film i want and heck I haven't even seen the tv show. This fourth installment in this action packed Mission Impossible franchise revolves around Ethan Hunt and his three friends Benji,Jane, and Brandt who are all disavowed agents(Except Brandt he just gave up) who must stop a nuclear war between Russia and the United States of America but with Not Plan,No contact,No choice which to me makes this film cause they have nothing but themselves(and some technology that dosn't exist. The Film has great acting from the whole cast, great stunts and is The best Film in the genres of Action/Adventure which gives this film a 5 out of 5.
Plot/Summary, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, is the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series. The much-anticipated motion picture event is the second of two full-length parts. In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort. It all ends here. My Review Harry Potter, the boy who lived... come to die. After 10 years it's finally over. I cried in this film so it deserves to be in my favorite movies of all time list. And so the most ambitious and expensive undertaking in film history draws to a close. 14 years on from the first book hitting UK shelves, a decade since the boy wizard made his debut on the silver screen, and over $6 billion in global box office takings later, the franchise finally reaches its conclusion with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.
Mercifully, it's a suitably spectacular finale to this most towering of celluloid achievements; an emotionally draining journey into the heart of wizarding darkness, with battles fought, lives lost, and secrets uncovered that call into question everything that has gone before.
The film hits the ground running, picking up where Part 1 left off, with Harry, Ron and Hermione hunting down the Horcruxes -- items into which the Dark Lord Voldemort has embedded pieces of his soul -- and the three Deathly Hallows, which "He Who Must Not Be Named" believes will grant mastery over death.
As a fan, arriving at the opening night knowing that that would be the last Harry Potter movie I will ever see, instantly brought tears to my eyes; However, I couldn't help but to worry whether or not the movie I had been waiting for a life time would beat my expectations, and Im glad to say it did. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 and part 2 are 100 percent loyal to the books - or atleast as loyal as a movie can be - and that is why this movie is so good. This Harry Potter movie is by far the one with a more complex story, because after all it is where it all ends, the story reveals ultimate secrets and brings a final point to the story that changed a generation. . The movie starts right after part 1; Harry and his friends are still on the search for the final Horcruxes whilst Lord Voldemort is becoming more powerful, it is up to Harry and his friends to kill the dark lord before he destroys everything. The plot is highly convicing and it keeps everyone on the edge to see how it all will end. With all my heart I feel so satisfied with what Yates has done and the way he has done it. Another reason for why this movie is triumphant is due to the acting. The trio ( Radcliffe, Grint, and Watson ) Have not only grown in the screen but in our hearts, and so seeing how they have grown not only physically but in terms of acting is surely a big surprise. The trio gives a breath taking performance; each one with their unique style of acting makes the chemistry between us the audience and them even bigger. However it is not only the trio but every cast member that gives an optimum performance; Fiennes, Gambon, Bonham and ofcourse Rickman are all amazing actors that should be all time prize winners. However, its not the acting but the way the characters that we created in our minds from the book come to life. Over years the fans of Harry Potter are such as myself are being constantly disappointed by the Academy Awards when the prize for Visual Effects are not given to their righful owner. The movie is the biggest eye candy that I have yet seen . The creators are able to give a clear projection of what every fan has imagined, they make the magic come to life. Every scene is exhilarating and unique. Not only is the story amazing, but the action that follows it. Every scene speeds up our heart rates; the action brings emotions and thrills that make this a marvelous action movie. There are several scenes that should stay in history for its uniqueness. Overall there are sequences so powerful that make this an action packed fast paced movie, that isn't a millisecond boring, not for a fan and not for anyone. Finally, and of course the most emotional part is the farewell. As a member of the Harry Potter generation, Harry Potter has been beyond a book or a movie for me, its been a lifestyle. The Harry Potter world has given me guidance and given me strength when I needed it. Harry Potter will never end for me because it is eternal. Harry Potter couldn't have ended better, although it was a tear jerker, I can say that it gave the best period to a brilliant story .
Overall the only way I can sum up this movie is with three words Best Movie Ever
Plot/Summary In this seventh and final installment of the beloved Harry Potter series, Harry faces new troubles; he must collect all of the Horcruxes that the evil Lord Voldemort has left behind. He has no idea where these are and he has to destroy them all, even without the faintest idea how to do so. Director& Cast Director(David Yates) Daniel Radcliffie(Harry Potter) Ruper Grint(Ron Wesley) Emma Watson(Hermione Granger) Ralph Fiennes(Lord Voldemort) Helena Bonham Carter(Bellatrix Lestrange) Michael Gambon(Albus Dumbledore) Alan Rickman(Severus Snape) Tom Felton(Draco Malfoy) Bill Nighy(Rufus Scrimgeour) Bonnie Wright(Ginny Weasley) Robbie Coltrane(Rubeus Hagrid) My Review Harry Potter fans have been waiting for this moment the begning of the end.
After a decade the Harry Potter francise has been alive and now it is finally coming to an end. With this one being split into two movies and just returning from seeing it all i can say is not only where is part two but the fans expected alot more but it was still enjoyable. Iam a huge Harry Potter fan have seen every since they came out but never read the books and i was very excited to see this one considering it is part 1 of the grande finale and i expected alot and i got half of what i was hoping for. As a stand alone movie it dose not work but if your going to see part 2 then good this movie is just being split so u can watch the next one which i hope u all will cause as an introduction to the movie or part 2 whatever it is very enjoyable and a good exprience but this is not the best harry potter yet but ithink that part 2 will be that is why i think Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is a 4.5 out of 5.
Plot/Summary,This impressive work from acclaimed Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki represents a significant departure from traditional anime. Foregoing the gritty storylines, extreme violence, and adult content found throughout many anime, Miyazaki's works borrow as much from fairy tales as they do from science fiction. Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind is no exception. Centuries after war has devastated the earth, Princess Nausicaa leads the people of the Valley of the Wind. Feuding clans fight with planes and tanks as well as swords in a world that is both primitive and futuristic. In addition to her people's conflicts with other factions, Nausicaa must also contend with the insects of the jungle including the Ohmu, a race of giant, intelligent bugs that poisons the surrounding atmosphere - and is spreading rapidly. The setting of this 1984 animation owes much to the post-apocalypse genre spawned by Mad Max and other films, and the political subplot is often compared to Frank Herbert's Dune. However, the heroine here has more in common with the female protagonists of the Disney musicals such as Pocohantas and Mulan; Nausicaa is more concerned with harmony and communication than with conquest and revenge. Sympathetic to the Ohmu, she learns she must approach them with understanding to achieve peace and restore the dying world. This film is beautifully animated and written, and the moral to this ecological fable is difficult to miss. The film was dubbed into English in the mid-2000s, hence the presence of such actors as Shia LeBoeuf, who wasn't born yet when the film was originally made My Review This Film to me is what an anime truly is. All you need to do is watch Naruto,Bleach,Dragon Ball Z(yes Dragon ball Z is an anime) and this to know what an anime truly is. This film is a masterpiece Directed by a famous japenese director named Hayao Miyazaki who i hope got an oscar for best director when this film was originally released. This triumphant film in stars great English actors who do a great job at bringing the film at it's intrest point along with it's story. Actors such as Allison Lohman as Nausica, Patrick Stewart as Lord Yupa,Shia LaBeouf as Asbel and Uma Thurman as Kushanna. The story revolves around a Princess named Nausica who lives in the valley of the wind, her people are threatened by the insects rage and while Kushanna's people try to take over the world and destroy the insects all in the while Nausica must protect her people with her new friend Asbel while her people defend themselves against a war from Kushanna's people. What makes this film engaging and entertaining at the same time is that one girl try's to protect herself while trying not kill or harm or wound anyone that stands in her way. As you can see she is trying to stop her enemy's not with violence but with peace. While she try's not to harm anyone there are still a great amount of action sequences. The story is very interesting but not very engaging but that dosn't mean much on the engaging part. There is not one bad thing about this film. That is why I give Nausica:Valley of the wind a 5 out of 5.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...Darth Vader and his Galactic Empire rule with an iron fist throughout the galaxy, the Jedi Knights are all but extinct, and the Rebel Alliance is fighting in a struggle to overthrow the space tyranny and restore peace and freedom for its people. The galaxy's new hope, an orphaned Tatooine farmboy named Luke Skywalker, leads space rogue Han Solo, surviving Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, and two droids - R2-D2 and C-3PO - to rescue the imprisoned Princess Leia in the Death Star, the space weapon with enough power to destroy an planet entirely. The Rebel Alliance, meanwhile, is concentrating on destroying the weapon with their fleet of X-Wing fighters. Star Wars was directed, produced, and written by George Lucas, who previously made THX 1138 and American Graffiti. Its excellent, talented acting cast includes the following: 1.) Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) 2.) Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) 3.) Harrison Ford (Han Solo) 4.) Alec Guinness (Obi-Wan Kenobi) 5.) Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) 6.) Kenny Baker (R2-D2) 7.) David Prowse (Darth Vader) 8.) James Earl Jones (Voice of Darth Vader) 9.) Peter Cushing (Grand Moff Tarkin) 10.) Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) 11.) Denis Lawson (Wedge Antilles)
As a movie fan I would like to talk about a favorite film title from my childhood, and even today, I still enjoy watching it to recapture the viewing experience of it again and again. Officially titled as Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, I think of the simply known Star Wars as THE BEST MOVIE EVER from the genres of science fiction, fantasy, action/adventure, and the box office blockbuster all rolled into one epic story of both galactic mythology and modern folklore that won't be forgotten for centuries to come. Not to mention that this is a film favorite among the geeks of the world!
During my first viewing of the film on TV at age 11, I had no idea that Star Wars was some sort of a modern-day fairy tale, given with elements such as knights, sword fights, and the rescue of a damsel in distress added along with a good text opening. I then fell in love with it and the sci-fi genre it was categorized in. Though superhero-dominated Saturday morning cartoons influenced my daydreaming fantasies, Star Wars actually helped me look to outer space and see how it would look like if different people fight over it while visiting alien worlds at the same time. And if they are any real heroes I can look up to, I can choose either Luke Skywalker or Han Solo. Kids aren't the only audience enjoying this space opera: The inner children of adults are enjoying it, too, as it recalls the nostalgic memories of watching Flash Gordon and the Wild West serials. In addition, Star Wars has a great instrumental music soundtrack composed by John Williams, the best I've ever heard on film - which is very dramatic and moving to fit in with the perfect action sequences.
This was a good movie for the time it was made. Has a great cast and a great true life story. Steve McQueen and James Garner stood out the most has the best actors in the film. A great WWII film. I saw a TV special on one of the actual POW involved with the escape. He also was one of the advisors to the film. He said about 100% of the film was accurate. During world war 2 there were a bunch of convicts at prison being torched no fun during the war. Hot air guards watching you every time no freedom and you may never get out and if you try you wont succeed! So cooler king hilts and his friends try there very best to escape. During there efforts they still where tired of that prison. so cooler king hilts put in pieces his plan which i call The Great Escape.
Plot/Summary,A young man who has pledged his life to helping others finds himself in a pitched battle between two gangs of supernatural villains in this blend of horror story and action thriller. Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman) is a medical student who is heading home after a long day of school and work when he unexpectedly finds himself in the middle of what appears to be a rumble between two well turned-out street gangs. What Michael doesn't know is he has witnessed a skirmish between two deadly underground communities, unknown to the mortal world, who are battling for supremacy -- the Death Dealers, a tribe of vampires, and the Lycans, a band of werewolves. Selene (Kate Beckinsale) is a leading member of the Death Dealers who hears through the grapevine that the Lycans have plans to capture the aspiring doctor who witnessed their battle. Certain something is in the air, Selene begins following Michael around the city, and she finds herself growing emotionally attached to him. As Selene becomes more attracted to Michael, she becomes more convinced that the Lycans are planning a major attack against the Death Dealers, although vampire kingpin Kraven (Shane Brolly) is certain she's crediting the Lycans with more intelligence than they can muster. As Selene shadows Michael, she finds herself wanting to protect him, but her longing becomes a handicap when he's attacked by Lucian (Michael Sheen), the leader of the werewolf community, and the man she wants to save has now become a sworn enemy. Underworld was the first feature film from music video director Len Wiseman. My Review This is one of the best films in my most favorite genres such as action/adventure,horror and science fiction. Underworld is such a treat to anyone who loves a good vampire and werewolf film. This is my only favorite film about both creatures so far. Underworld revolves around A male nurse,(Scott Speedman) unwittingly becomes involved in an on going battle between the two immortal species. When a female vamp Selene(Kate Beckinsale) notices the werewolves following this individual, she becomes suspicious and begins to investigate why he is so important, even if it changes everything she has ever known about her life and vampire history. This monster movie follows the age-old traditions established in the early novels (Bram Stoker) and movies (Werewolf Of London) featuring vampires and misanthropes. Of late, there's been some modernized horror franchises that have thrown the standards out the window. Those standards are comforting and we, the audience, expect to see them. Vampires deteriorate in sunlight leading to instant death, Werewolves can only be killed by a silver projectile. Underworld takes these formulas, builds on there strengths and makes them their original own. While it reads as a horror, it plays more like a gangster/fantasy piece. Both races participate in gun-play with specially modified bullets to instantly kill their opponents. The werewolves are animalistic warriors, wanna-be heavy weight mafia, with more brawn than brains. On the flip side, the vampires are like a communal family with hierarchy, ancient customs and they're legitimate business owners which funds their criminal endeavors. Due to the aforementioned gun-play, this is more violent than gory. It's still bloody but there are no scenes that'll make you queasy or nauseous. The violence is another reason why it has an action vibe to it. All in all underworld gets a 5 out of 5.
Plot/Summary,Arrietty (Bridgit Mendler), a tiny, but tenacious 14-year-old, lives with her parents (Will Arnett and Amy Poehler) in the recesses of a suburban garden home, unbeknownst to the homeowner and her housekeeper (Carol Burnett). Like all little people, Arrietty (AIR-ee-ett-ee) remains hidden from view, except during occasional covert ventures beyond the floorboards to "borrow" scrap supplies like sugar cubes from her human hosts. But when 12-year-old Shawn (David Henrie), a human boy who comes to stay in the home, discovers his mysterious housemate one evening, a secret friendship blossoms. If discovered, their relationship could drive Arrietty's family from the home and straight into danger. My Review Ghibli studios has done it once more. They have made two of my favorite films of all time in which they were both given 5 out of 5. I have not seen Spirited Away but i have seen two of them Nausica of The Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke and those two films in my opinion are two of the greatest pieces of film history and that is not said lightly in the end I love those two films. Now,let's talk Arrietty. The Secret World of Arrietty is a an anime that revolves around a little girl named Arrietty who is a borrower just like her father, she begins her first borrowing task one night with her father while trying to get some tissues she is seen by the boy named Shawn who is staying at the house because his aunt believes he needs some piece and quiet before going to surgery. After Shawn see's Arrietty he try's to befriend her but Arrietty and her family must move with another borrower but her mother is captured by Shawn's housekeeper. This movie is another fine piece of cinema that must not be forgotten it's well acted. It has a great voice over cast of actor's who capture the heart of these great characters Bridget Mendler as Arriety, Amy Poehler as Arriety's Mother, Will Arnett as Arriety's Father, Carol Burnett as The Housekeeper, and David Henrie as Shawn. All these actors did a fantastic job as these characters. It has great cinematography. And my favorite aspect of this movie is that it did what Valley of the Wind almost did it touched my heart without making me cry. Which is very rare in a film that touch's my heart, usually when a film touch's my heart it makes me cry as where Arrietty didn't. It is one of my favorite movie's of all time and another great piece for both children and adults alike. I highly recommend this well adapted film adapted by the children's book series The Borrowers and it truly deserves it's 5 out of 5.
They mostly come at night, mostly Plot/Summary57 years after the original attack, Ripley and a crew of marines return to the planet to kill the remaining aliens that have slaughtered the colonists on the planet. My Review This is one of those movies that, whenever we find it on cable, no matter w hat part is on, we can't help but tune in. There is too much awesomeness in this movie to identify just one reason why Cameron's 1986 sequel to Ridley Scott's Alien works as well as it does.
Aliens continues the story of the number one cause of hurtin' for chicks named "Ripley." It adds a new layer to the Alien's biological cycle, introducing an Alien Queen and ? in doing so ? one of the big screen's best and scariest villains. The hit sequel is a bullet of a movie that packs the perfect amount of character development, horror and action into a story that could have been thread-bare in a lesser craftsman's hands.
Ripley's return to LV-426, the planet where she first encountered the alien, is now home to a shake-n-bake colony of families and workers, which is basically ringing the dinner bell for the xenomorphs to prove that, in space, everyone can hear you scream if you die loud enough.
Ripley joins an elite group of Colonial Marines sent on a bug hunt, and they quickly find that neither flame thrower nor bug-eyed troopers by way of Hudson are a match for things that bleed acid and sweat slime. Cameron's decision to keep Ripley and Newt as the emotional core of the movie makes the increasing threats around them all the more conducive putting us on the edge of our seats.
That, coupled with the Power Loader vs. Alien Queen showdown, underscored by James Horner's epic score, is why Aliens is not just a great Cameron film, but one of the best movies ever made.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.'' In a small village in the Shire a young Hobbit named Frodo has been entrusted with an ancient Ring. Now he must embark on an Epic quest to the Cracks of Doom in order to destroy it. Viggo Mortensen: Aragorn/Strider Elijah Wood: Frodo Ian Mckellan: Gandalf 2001 begins what would soon be one of the best trilogies to ever grace films and one of the best book trilogies ever written adapted. Yes, obviously I'm speaking about you've guessed it; The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. Peter Jackson adapts J.R.R. Tolkien's novels using a faultless screenplay from Fran Walsh. Vibrant characters, gritty realistic fantasy and Middle Earth brought to life by the beauty of New Zealand and WETA workshop. It must also be said that Fellowship has one of the best prologues I have ever seen in in my life; The creation of the Rings and the battle against Sauron sends chills up my spine everytime I witness it.
The WETA effects, camera work, editing, sound and Orchestra work by Howard Shore are all dripping perfection. For this piece of work Howard Shore has created and drawn out a truly beautiful soundtrack to accompany the movie visually. In truth, you can listen to the CD alone and experience the movie, just close your eyes. Howard brings all of the epic moments from the movie to life through the art of music. To tell the story of LOTR, the cast of the movie was required to do much more than just act but had to tell an epic story of human struggles and emotions, ranging from anger to joy to sadness which spanned over 10 years for the cast and crew. The acting in this movie is beautiful, and nearly flawless. The characters are fleshed out and believable, the relationships are hypnotising, and it is as if the audience experiences everything and is part of the ensuing adventure. ''Our people, our people. I would have would have followed you, my brother... my captain... my king.'' The casting drew together a small group of seasoned veterans, including Christopher Lee, Ian McKellan, and Ian Holm, giving the film a solid backbone mixing experience with life and vitality. The other characters are also played out beautifully, especially that of Sean Bean's Boromir. The relationship between he and Mortensen make the story of the movie all the more real. The part where Boromir is dying and Aragorn is comforting him is one of the most emotional and tear inducing scenes ever captured upon film. As is Gandalf's ''You shall not pass!'' struggle against the Balrog; His fall into darkness will make you cry when the music combined with the drama hits you. Sean Astin and Billy Boyd also deliver sound performances, but the most unique aspect of the film is the relationship between Sean Astin and Elijah Wood. Seeing the making and the Extended Version, it is much easier to understand, but Astin forged a friendship with Wood during filming, and this was able to make the close bond of the two in Fellowship even more real and powerful. In 3 hours, Jackson has crammed everything essential from the first novel & then some into the film, rewriting some scenes & dialogue with lesser characters for the leads, leaving out only what there wasn't enough time for. Basically, you have two 90 min. movies running back to back. There are no slow spots, just one climax follwed by another. From the opening backstory where the Dark Lord Sauron is shown on the battlefield wiping out men & elves 10 at a time with each swing of his mace, it will capture your soul. The romance between Aragorn, mysterious ranger of the North, and Arwen, daughter of the elf-lord, is fantasy romance, timeless and eternal, will capture your heart. The story, sets, costumes, score and sound effects are so rich, you'll see the film many times to absorb the beauty of all. The unspoiled New Zealand locales are spectacular, providing a variety of environments to represent the different settings on the characters' journey. The location sets are imaginative, detailed & weathered, adding to their believability, while the studio sets match them in meticulousness. The costumes are at once familiar & strange, drawing on both the medieval & the fantastical, but more important, they're also functional & practical. The music by Howard Shore is appropriately sweeping, Celtic and folky in keeping with the novel, although it lacks the memorable themes of John Williams or Jerry Goldsmith, but succeeds in eclipsing or rivalling their work in Howard Shore's own style and uniqueness. In conclusion and in essence, Fellowship & LOTR can be credited as many things, because it does something incredibly challenging and does it exceedingly without flaw or exception. Peter Jackson had to adapt from a series of books, he had to capture Tolkien's unique World from his books, he had to deliver a vivid and real world full of gritty earthy fantasy, and it required its cast to deliver brilliant performances full of emotion, relationships, and conflicts. They all succeed. Fellowship won 4 Oscars for it's Cinematography, music, make-up and effects. Watch Theatrical or Extended Versions both are perfection. Masterpiece. ''One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.''
Plot/Summary,The Help stars Emma Stone as Skeeter, Viola Davis as Aibileen and Octavia Spencer as Minny-three very different, extraordinary women in Mississippi during the 1960s, who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk. From their improbable alliance a remarkable sisterhood emerges, instilling all of them with the courage to transcend the lines that define them, and the realization that sometimes those lines are made to be crossed-even if it means bringing everyone in town face-to-face with the changing times. My Review The Help is a film that i think has alot of heart due to the story. This tells the story of what america's bad doing was which was you know having black people as slaves but in this story their maids. All of the whites hate them except for this one girl named Skeeter(Emma Stone) who once had a black maid to which she considered her as her mother. Skeeter asks Aibileen to help her write some story's for a book she's writing known as The Help which is suppose to Help colored people so they can have an equal life with the whites. I would believe that their are for me two reasons on why this movie is heart felt which is Skeeter not knowing to the women who is she considered mother and all the horrible things colored people went through even when they were maids.
Plot/Summary,Directed by renowned animator Hayao Miyazaki, this anime has broken a number of box office records in its native Japan. Essentially a statement on the ecological devastation brought on by human advancement, the story follows the battle between Princess Mononoke and a mining village. My Review This third directed by Hayao Miyazaki film is another great addition to anime films. This epic anime directed by Hayao Miyazaki revolves around a boy named Prince Ashitaka (voiced by Billy Crudup) is infected with a lethal curse, and must travel to find a cure. On his journey he discovers himself caught in a battle between a mining town and animals of the surrounding forest. A girl named San raised by wolves leads the animals, but the forest harbors deadly supernatural powers. This movie to me is alot similar to the Valley of the wind not because of the director but because that the film is so engaging and well done. It's movies like these that i wish where live action. But other then that the acting is great, the characters are very like able and this is just such a fantastic film that deserves a 5 out of 5.
Your not going away again are you daddy no i promise Plot SummaryA retired special agent is forced out of retirement when his daughter is kidnapped by a band of thugs intent on revenge. My Review COmmando stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Commando John Matrix who is a retired commando that has only 10 hours to find and rescue his daughter from one his soilders who he knew many years ago. This movie is great on its action acting and most of its stunts and visuale effects. For those who didnt enjoy this film i think i know why and i understand but another that i think its awsome. Great stuff i also want point out is the story ( A retired ellite commando has 10 hours to find and rescue his daughter from one of his really comrade from many years ago i think its great. For those of you who great action flicks and ARNOLD Schwarzenegger movies and great storys and explosives then this is highly recommended.
the number one animated movie for me should be the number one animated movie of all time and the first completley animated movie at its best no animated movie can withstand or beat the wonderous of tom hans as woody or tim allen as buzz light year in the best animated movie of all time time one of tom hanks best movies is the childrens beloved toy story
One of my most favorite monsters in its first movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger predator. Predator is about an elite commando unit to save some hostages in the jungle but they dont know that there are aliens hunting them down. So they each get killed one by one. But they try there very best not to die because they have one nonmember of there commando unit that they must protect as she trys to find a way out of the island. There is only one very elite soilder to withstand the alien. Major Alan Dutch aka Arnold Schwarzenegger is the only man to withstand any kind of pain long enough to defeat the Predator.
This is one of my favorite zombie movies of all time because it is just like left 4 dead 2 which of course is one awsome kick ass video game and thanks to left 4 dead and zombie land and zombieville on my ipod touch are the things that made me want to watch more good zombie films.
Plot/Summary,In Scream 4, Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (played by Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney's appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger. The newest installment in the acclaimed franchise that ushered in a new wave of horror in the 1990s is written by series creator Kevin Williamson and directed by suspense master and director of the first trilogy, Wes Craven. The film stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox-Arquette, David Arquette, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Anthony Anderson, Adam Brody, Mary McDonnell, Marley Shelton, Nico Tortorella, Marielle Jaffe, Kristen Bell, Anna Paquin, Lucy Hale, Shanae Grimes, Aimee Teegarden and Brittany Robertson. --(c) Dimension My Review I think i found my favorite scary movie. The hopefully not last Scream is the best scream! I have a friend who said if you like all three movies then you'll defiantly like this one but he was wrong... I loved Scream 4 it was so confusing yet cool it's hard for me too tell if it's a reboot or if it's a new addition to the beloved Scream franchise. Scream 4 revolves around Sidney coming to her old hometown Woodsbro which is were here cousin Jill Roberts lives, the killer kills one of Jills friends and the killer is not only after Sidney this time, the killer is also out for sidney's family. This movie was so well made and the Scream films always have good opening sequences and Scream 4 is no exception and not to give too much it is also a little funny while not making fun of itself in my opinion. The film has two types of tones just as in the first three funny and horrifying. This movie was such a great treat for me i mean it also has the characters like Randy from the first three movies two cinema nerds. The acting was impresenly good from pretty much all the actors i mean like i believed it all of what they were saying. The movie gets a 5 out of 5 from a now hardcore Scream fan.
Plot/Summary,In Final Destination 5, Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man's premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death's sinister agenda. My Review In Final destination 5 things may look the same but with death and Steven Quale working together and hopefully more often this films might get then the pile of crap that is The Final Destination. Final Destination 5 starts of with the opening looking better then the ones from The Final Destination and some a little expected for a horror movie with some of the items that killed recent characters from the movie series. When the movie opens up you can see that Sam made some breakfast along with the arrival of his friends they go on a bus for a bushiness trip but then you know Sam gets a Premonition then you know they escape their death and one by one death will come for them all. As you can see we already have our plot know let me tell what I think was great or improve from the film. The thing i liked most of all will be told last. The acting was better then usually it is,i liked the acting from these cast members in this order Tony Todd(William Bludworth) Nicholas D'Agosto(Sam),Emma Bell(Molly), Miles Fisher(Peter), David Koechner(Dennis),Courtney B. Vance(Agent Block) and Jacqueline Maclnnes Wood(Olivia Castle). They to me were the most believable in that order and had the best acting of the whole cast. The new part of the film is that if you kill someone you get their life and well i really liked that new part for this franchise i mean it worked it made sense it's cool i really liked it. Alright now let's talk deaths, the deaths in this film were disgusting like in the third film but tolerable i mean it was realistic which made it scary, finally these movies scare me again. Now let me talk about my favorite thing i liked in this film which was at the end but just in case you haven't seen it this is before flight 180.
Plot/Summary,One year after the death of Sidney Prescott's (Campbell) mother, two students turn up gutted. When a serial killer appears, Sidney begins to suspect whether her mother's death and the two new deaths are related. No one is safe, as the killer begins to pick everyone off one by one. Everyone's a suspect in this case. My Review Finally a horror movie that scared me that isn't Chucky. A horror movie that made me want to Scream! Scream uses this as it's plot(Using this to tell full plot.)Almost a year after someone raped and killed Sidney Prescott's mother in the small town of Woodsboro, someone is killing teenagers. When Sidney herself becomes a target, the link is apparent and her missing father is a suspect. However, as with all good scary movies, everyone is a suspect! Making everyone a suspect was a great view of suspense because you never know who is the killer known as Ghostface. Not to mention Wes cravens brilliant direction and the little humor of a janitor dressed up as Freddy Kruger. I noticed that in this movie there were some jump scares and while i don't enjoy them in remakes much at least there are other scary benefactors such as the killer being threatening and you never knowing how he will kill or you will be his next victim and last but not least my favorite if there's every a sequel.
Plot/Summary,It has been two years since the tragic events at Woodsboro. Sidney Prescott and Randy Meeks are trying to get on with their lives, and are currently both students at Windsor College. Cotton Weary is out of prison, and is trying to cash in on his unfortunate incarceration. Gale Weathers has written a bestseller, "The Woodsboro Murders," which has been turned into the film, "Stab," starring Tori Spelling as Sidney. As the film's play date approaches, the cycle of death begins anew. Dewey Riley immediately flies out of Woodsboro to try to protect Sidney, his "surrogate sister." But in this sequel to the 1996 horror film, the number of suspects only goes down as the body count slowly goes up! My Review I Had to Scream more in this scary movie! Scream 2 revolves around a murder being convicted at the midnight premire of stab which is based on the Woodsgirl murder book written by Gale weathers. On the night the movie is released two college students are brutally murder which means theres another killer on the loose. This is a horror sequel that is better then it's predecessor for once(well at least out of the ones Iv seen) it has the return of my four of my favorite main characters in the first film Sidney Presscott, Dewey Riley, Gale Weathers, and Randy Meeks. This one was also much more suspenseful then it's predecessor because if you watch Scary movie(u know those parodies) you'll know that the boyfriend is the killer just like in Scream one. I must once again also commend Mr.Cravens brilliant direction. Not to mention even though Horror films are not suppose to be humors it was a little funny. All in all with it's skill in scaring me,brilliant acting, brilliant direction, and it's little humor this amazing sequel gets a 5 out of 5.
Plot/Summary,The second feature from director Michel Gondry (Human Nature) finds the filmmaker reteaming with screenwriter Charlie Kaufman for this off-the-wall romantic comedy. Jim Carrey stars as Joel Barish, a man who is informed that his ex-girlfriend Clementine (Kate Winslet) has had her memories of their relationship erased from her brain via an experimental procedure performed by Dr. Mierzwiak (Tom Wilkinson). Not to be outdone, Joel decides to have the same procedure done to himself. As Mierzwiak's bumbling underlings Stan (Mark Ruffalo) and Patrick (Elijah Wood) perform the operation on Joel -- over the course of an evening, in his apartment -- Joel struggles in his own mind to save the memories of Clementine from being deleted. Kirsten Dunst, David Cross, and Jane Adams also star. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi My Review Mary:How happy is the blameless vessel flout, the world forgetting by the world forgotten Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, each prayer accepted, each wish resigned. This feel good heartfelt love story revolves around a guy named Joel meeting a woman named Clementine played Kate Winslet who he feels has forgotten her but then reunites with her after trying to forget about her. During one scene while Joel is given the treatment of losing his memory's of her he quotes "Please just let me keep this one" I honestly feel that their could have been a moral about good and bad memory's such as every memory with love and relationships must be kept the good and even bad. The acting is just blessid from all the actors in this film. But Jim Carry's character Joel is the one you feel the most for in this film. Joel seems so depressed in those small scenes of sadness i felt like i was watching myself. The Cinematography is well done. This film is a true love story and a masterpiece and a film that should not be forgotten. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind gets a 5 out of 5.
Plot/Summary,At fortysomething, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream-good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his "perfect" life quickly unravels. Worse, in today's single world, Cal, who hasn't dated in decades, stands out as the epitome of un-smooth. Now spending his free evenings sulking alone at a local bar, the hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protégé to handsome, thirtysomething player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). My Review You know the only reason i was interested in seeing this was because of the music in the background of every commercial i saw for it. It went a little little something like this "My life you electrify my life" and that's what got me interested in the film well that and one of my many wife's Emma stone was in this film. The film starts of a little creepy when you see the legs of people in a restraunt then we meet some of our two main characters Cal and Emily Weaver and Emily wants a divorce so later in like the first fifteen minutes Cal jumps out of car. The film title for me when i first heard about it i thought it was stupid cause it said Crazy stupid love but then as i was watching i understood why it was called crazy stupid love because its what happens when your in a hard relationship Crazy stupid love. Crazy stupid love is not a crazy stupid film that's why it gets a five out of five.
It was a wonderful and humorous movie 500 days with a person you love. Its strange how that beautful women summer was not married with tom because i thought there love was strange but yet extraordinary. Which is why i thought they should have gotten married.
Plot/Summary,U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive--a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm. My Review(Book&Film Review) While many people don't crave Nicholas Sparks books and films it's because half of them are men when this is mainly for women. Why do i like and read his books? Easy i'm softhearted and have never found love which is why i like and read his books. The Lucky One was my second read Nicholas Sparks book i read so this is pretty important to me. The Lucky One is about a marine sergeant Logan Thibault who finds a picture of a smiling beautiful women and is told by his friend Victor that's it's his lucky charm. Logan searches for her and walks all the way from Colorado to Hampton and meets Beth(Elizabeth) who has just went through a divorce with Keith Clayton. AS Logan and Elizabeth form a love his picture could just tear them apart. The Film captured the fate thin pretty well in my opinion as for the cinematography everything in Hampton looks beautiful. They capture Hampton very well with their shots of the small town. The pacing is very bad in the beginning of the film. Everything in the beginning just feels rushed and i don't like that not to mention Logan barely mentions Victor. They didn't show Victor die by the boat in the beginning either and that's just seemed kind of a let down. They got the way Ben Logan meet all wrong but i'll let that sly. As for everything it's great it feels like The Lucky One not to mention to me (Spoiler Alert) they should of just stuck with the ending in the book which was in the end Logan and Keith drowned to death. But overall this movie is one of the best Nicholas Sparks adaptions in a while.
Plot/Summary,A newlywed couple recovers from a car accident that puts the wife in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, her husband endeavors to win her heart again. My Review A couple of years back The Notebook based on Nicholas Sparks novel was released and is considered to be one of the greatest love store's of all time, and many films have tried to clone it,some based on sparks novels some not. But there's a new romance in the blue starring The Notebooks very own Rachel McAdams called The Vow,which is inspired by true events. The Vow revolves around a couple who are married, one night after getting hit by a truck has Leo's wife Paige lose all of her memories of him and the life they had. Leo is played by Channing Tatum who does excellent in his role and you feel the most for his character struggling to find a way to have his remember him. Rachel McAdams plays Paige with absolute beauty, i mean she was very belivable. The ending is a shocker. This film is a wonderful love story and i really recommend you see it.
Plot/Summary,A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other -- and to the Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate. My Review
The problem with creating intelligent apes is that they can wind up being even smarter than you... And if there's a problem with Rise of the Planet of the Apes, it's that its apes are so much smarter than the movie they're in.
According to Fox, director Rupert Wyatt's Rise is not a remake or a reboot or a reimagining (I'm looking at you, Burton) of the classic sci-fi series from the late '60s and early '70s. So let's just call it a new version, shall we? New not just in terms of story -- the film breaks with the old cyclical timeline that kept Chuck Heston eternally trapped in a loincloth -- but also in terms of the presentation of the apes. Gone are the monkeyshine make-up effects, apes who were seen as such mostly because we were told that's what they were, replaced by amazing motion-capture/CGI work by Weta Digital that represents an evolutionary leap forward for digital characters not unlike the seismic shift between the average, poop-tossing chimpanzee and Rise's main monkey, the hyper-intelligent Caesar.
Andy Serkis, who has been at the forefront of mo-cap since portraying Gollum in the Lord of the Rings films, is an automatic Oscar snub in waiting post-Rise. His Caesar is a living, breathing creature, and also the protagonist of the film -- don't let James Franco's presence fool you. Unlike Franco's Will Rodman, Caesar receives honest to Ape-God character development as he grows from an itty-bitty baby chimp and pseudo-human to a confused and tortured soul, torn away from the only family he's ever known, and then finally to an ape freedom fighter and proto-rebel leader. Franco is miscast as Will, a geneticist who is searching for a cure to Alzheimer's. (He plays it as if he's the dude who works at your local skate shop but also went to MIT.) His dad, played by John Lithgow, is suffering from the disease. So Will's been using an experimental drug on chimpanzees which is meant to repair brain cells but, as it turns out, is also giving the chimps heightened intelligence. After one ape, Bright Eyes (one of many references to the original series), goes berserk, the program is shut down by Will's Evil and Greedy Boss (David Oyelowo).
The thing is, prior to her outburst, Bright Eyes had given birth to a baby that no one knew about. Will, surely breaking every rule in his fancy-ass scientist contract, sneaks the baby home with him and winds up raising the chimp -- Caesar. The years pass, and Will attempts to rebuild his cure program, even managing to stave off his dad's illness. Meanwhile, Caesar, now able to communicate through sign language, is clearly a very special ape, but he is ultimately an ape and living among humans proves impossible. Eventually he winds up in a nasty primate sanctuary headed up by the even nastier Brian Cox and Tom Felton, and it's there that he must learn to live among -- and lead -- his fellow apes. The viewer truly feels the plight of the apes, both those in the "sanctuary" and the ones who are being experimented on, which is amazing considering that none of these characters actually exist. But the film takes the low road when it comes to placing blame for the suffering of the primates. Franco, painted as the secondary protagonist, can't be portrayed in a negative light, right? Even though he's the one running the program. So instead, the filmmakers opt to go with cartoonish human characters who are bad for the sake of being bad: Brian Cox plays yet another version of Evil Brian Cox, Tom Felton is the kind of guy who tortures apes for the fun of it... there's even an obnoxious Mean Neighbor who actually roughs up the elderly, confused, Alzheimer's-stricken Lithgow at one point. Because that's what the plot needs at that time. (Don't worry though, kids, he'll get his in the end!) Sure, we're talking about a movie where apes have become smart enough to one day lead a rebellion against humanity. I get that. But Wyatt and his screenwriters are clearly attempting to tell the Apes story in a more realistic way, which they very much do except when dealing with the only actual real thing in the movie: the humans. When you watched the original, Doctor Zaius was evil, yes. But as the film progressed, you came to understand why he did what he did.
Of course, Rise tracks most closely with the fourth film in the original series, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, which dealt with Caesar rebelling against evil human masters. Those guys weren't the best realized characters either, but that was also a time when we accepted prosthetic masks and Roddy McDowall playing both his father and his own son. Times have changed.
So when Freida Pinto shows up as Caesar's vet and Franco's potential love interest, we expect her to be more than just... Caesar's vet and Franco's potential love interest. But she's not. And when Franco's Will is separated from Caesar and his character stops having much of importance to do, well... at least Ricardo Montalban knew when it was time to jump out of that window. It's a shame, because Rise of the Planet of the Apes had the potential to be a truly great film. As it stands, it's good, it's solid -- it's a reboot (sorry Fox!) that mostly gets it right. It's also chockfull of inside gags for Apes fans, from character names to lines of dialogue to an actual passing reference to Heston's space voyage which started it all in 1968. In fact, sometimes these references are too abundant, as when the famous "damned, dirty ape" line is inserted into what otherwise should be one of the dramatic highpoints of the film, resulting in a muddled, half-jokey feel.
But still... Caesar and his fellow rebels. They make it all worthwhile. And if their uprising seems slightly hollow at times, remember that they can't help it if they're so much more intelligent than us humans. Don't hate them because they're smart; Caesar made them that way.
best family movie is one of the oldest storys but it's new improved peter pan in 2003 is a great family children around .the world its filled with adult things that children should understand this is a movie children might love.
Plot/Summary A mountain climber becomes trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone near Moab, Utah and resorts to desperate measures in order to survive. Director(Danny Boyle) jAMES Franco(Aron Ralston) Amber Tamblyn(Megan) Kate Mara(Kristi) Clemence Posey(Ranna) Kate Burton(Aron's mom) Lizzy Caplan(Sonja) My Review I've been wanting to see this movie for quite awhile now and now that I have seen the movie all I can say is that this movie is disgusting awsome cool and nostalgic. Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle follows up his Best Picture recipient Slumdog Millionaire with 127 Hours, another movie about finding hope in a seemingly hopeless situation.
Based on the book Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralston, 127 Hours recounts mountain climber Ralston's (James Franco, in a sure to be Oscar-nominated tour-de-force) desperate attempts to free himself after becoming trapped in a desolate canyon in the Utah wasteland.
Ralston falls 65' down into an isolated, narrow canyon, his right arm pinned by a fallen boulder. He is trapped. Try as he might, this athletic, experienced outdoorsman cannot budge the rock and must utilize all his skills and experience and what little resources he has on his person to save himself. But after five days of being trapped there and edging closer towards death, Aron is faced with doing the unthinkable if he's going to escape his hellish ordeal.

In adapting Ralston's memoir, Boyle and his co-screenwriter Simon Beaufoy have taken what could have been the man vs. nature equivalent of torture porn and transformed it into a visceral, exhilarating drama about hope, life and the need to belong to something greater than one's self. As Aron grows increasingly delirious in his days trapped in the canyon, he flashes back to the mistakes he's made and dreams of the life he could lead.
These sequences include flashes to his family -- with Treat Williams as his dad, Kate Burton as his mom, and Lizzy Caplan as his sister -- and an ex-girlfriend (Clemence Poesy) whose chilling parting words haunt his thoughts. Aron also thinks of the last people he encountered just before his plight began, two young women (played by Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara) whom he shared a playful afternoon with. Panic, regrets and despair soon give way to hope and resolve as Aron realizes the one way in which he can escape and lead the fuller, richer life he's envisioned over the last 127 hours.
The film makes it clear that it would have been easy for Aron to have given up, but he ultimately chooses life -- and the hard choices that come with it -- over death. Many already know the outcome of Ralston's story, what he had to do in order to escape, but for those who don't I won't bother spoiling it for you, suffice to say that the scene while brutal is not exactly as gruesome as something you'd see in a Saw movie. Still, don't be surprised to see folks flee the theater during that scene.
As remarkable as Boyle's fashioning of the film is -- he's designed it as a very trippy thriller, employing a multitude of techniques and two different cinematographers to create different looks throughout -- it would have all been for naught without a solid actor in the central role. Playing what amounts to a one-man show, Franco is a revelation here, alternately goofy, vulnerable, cocky, brave and poignant. The role was obviously not just a physically grueling challenge for him, but an emotional one as well given that he's alone onscreen for nearly the entire movie. All in all, 127 Hours is one of the year's most powerful and moving films. It is nostalgic since he is desperate need to get out of the rock cause he misses his loved ones his friends and he has made bad choices and so the rock is his punishment. My review ladies and gentlemen tell you why it is cool so do yourself a favor and see this movie.
Plot/Summary,Throughout his extraordinary career, Academy Award-wining director Martin Scorsese has brought his unique vision and dazzling gifts to life in a series of unforgettable films. This holiday season the legendary storyteller invites you to join him on a thrilling journey to a magical world with his first-ever 3-D film, based on Brian Selznick's award-winning, imaginative New York Times best-seller, "The Invention of Hugo Cabret." Hugo is the astonishing adventure of a wily and resourceful boy whose quest to unlock a secret left to him by his father will transform Hugo and all those around him, and reveal a safe and loving place he can call home My Review Movies are magic,Movies make dreams come true. This movie is beautiful and here is why. Hugo based on a novel revolves around a boy named Hugo who has lived in a train station after his father died. In the train station he has a job which is fixing the clock. He meets a young girl named Isabelle who helps him finish his work to see if it has a message from his father. Hugo learns and loves movies, he learns that movies were once used to make dreams come true. Which is why this film should very special to any movie lover because that's what it's about movies. The acting is wonderful from the whole cast. Ben Kingsley's does cool, Chole Moretz kicks ass just wonderful acting. The movie is well shot, and is just a beautiful film. If you love movies see this movie. Hugo gets a 5 out of 5.
Plot/Summary,Director Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 version of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet was touted at the time of its release (successfully, if the box-office receipts are any indication), as something of a "youth trip" movie. This is because Zeffirelli broke the long-standing tradition of casting over-aged, sometimes grey-haired players in the title roles. Seventeen-year-old Leonard Whiting plays Romeo, with 15-year-old Olivia Hussey as Juliet. The youthfulness and inexperience of the leading players works beautifully in the more passionate sequences (some of these breaking further ground by being played in the nude). Among the younger players are Michael York as Tybalt and John McEnery as Mercutio. The duel between Romeo and Tybalt starts out as a harmless, frat-boy exchange of insults, then escalates into tragedy before any of the participants are fully aware of what has happened. Photographed by Pasqualino DeSantis on various locations in Italy, Romeo and Juliet was one of the most profitable film adaptations of Shakespeare ever produced. Its most lasting legacy is its popular main theme music, composed by Nino Rota. My Review One of the most enduring love stories has become one of the most enjoyable and best motion pictures of all time. This great Motion was very deserving of it's academy awards i just hope it took best picture.
Plot/Summary,From filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes John Carter-a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). John Carter is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands. My Reviews I still think it should of been given a different name,a different rating from the critic, and finally a different advertisement as well . What mean by different advertisement is acknowledge in the commercials that this is based on classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for Avatar, Star wars, and Star Trek. When this movie could have been given a different title, this movie could have been called A Princess of Mars just like the book this movies based on or John Carter:Prince of Mars. But in the end either you still get this great Scfi Epic about a former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
Plot/Summary,In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back...in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K's life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him -- secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind. My Review Black suits comin, and they sure hell are back with a bang. After 10 years, after that thing(Mib 2) there is finally another Men in Black movie which is being directed by the director of the very first. Barry Sonnenfield is back in the directors chair for Men in Black, and when that was annouced i was pumped cause the first which he directed was good, the second one which he didn't direct was an unholy abomination. But it looks like our agents are going back in time to restore their name as good characters in what could have been a good franchise. This time an alien named Borris the animal has escaped from the moon to go back in time and has killed Agent K,K was erased from exsitance and J must go back in time, with 24 hours on the line to save the world from an invasion and his partner.
Plot/Summary,Nicolas Cage reprises his role as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance. In this gritty new vision for the character, directed by Neveldine/Taylor (Crank), Johnny is still struggling with his curse as the devil's bounty hunter - but he may risk everything as he teams up with the leader of a group of rebel monks (Idris Elba) to save a young boy from the devil... and possibly rid himself of his curse forever. My Review Ehh ugh i honestly don't know what to say about this movie all i can say is that the only thing good about it was the shot of the action scenes. I mean in the first Ghost rider the action scenes were so flipping horrible that i couldn't bare it. But in this there well shot and well done. .
Plot/Summary,Former cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they've blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he's not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) never misses his target. My Review Man this shit was the bomb not to mention the only Fast & Furious movie with a plot! And i sure as hell can not wait for a sequel to this. Fast Five revolves around Brian O'Conner, played by Paul Walker, and Dom Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. I got to see really great action fast & Furious movie with a plot which is what i have been waiting for. And Vin Diesel and Dwaayne the rock Johnson fighting each other now that's, that's just badass. Action-Packed, Humorous, and Loud, this recent Box-Office Blockbuster gets it right. Justin Lin's direction is spot-on, while the Screenplay by Chris Morgan, targets the masses. The Stunts are truly Spectacular. In fact, they are the life of this action-flick. Cinematography is perfect. Editing is fine.
Performance-Wise: Vin Diesel & Paul Walker continue to be effective in their respective parts. Jordana Brewster is fair. Tyrese Gibson is first-rate and brings in a host of laughs in the goings-on. Ludicrous is good. Matt Schulze, Sung Kang & Gal Gadot are passable. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is absolutely superb in a strong supporting role. This movie is great it's an action movie wanting to see from the fast& Furious franchise and this is one great action flick.
Plot/Summary,A young boy and a girl with a magic crystal must race against pirates and foreign agents in a search for a legendary floating castle. My Review Wonderful fantasy describes Castle in the Sky. This other great Ghibli Studios film sets a high goal on animated/anime films alike. This is what a children's film should feel like(along with The Secret World of Arriety,My Neighbor Tortoro, and Nausica of The Valley of The Wind.) This movie is so well done thanks to this awesome director(Best animation director) Hayo Miyazaki. The characters Pazu,Sheeta, and Dola are such amazing well done characters portrayed beautifully by their voice over actors James Van Der Beek,Anna Paquin,Mark Hamill, and Cloris Leachman. The animation is as beautiful as always. Castle in the Sky(Laputa in the Sky) revolves around Pazu,an engineer's apprentice, finds a young girl named Sheeta, floating down from the sky, wearing a glowing pendant. Togther, they discover both are searching for a legendary floating castle named Laputa and vow to unravel the mystery of the luminous crystal around Sheeta's neck. Their quest won't be easy ,however. There are greedy air pirates, secret government agents and astounding obstacles to keep them from the truth -and each other. Mark Hamill voices the villain of this story and as always delivers a great performance as a villain so i hoped he was given an oscar for his role but i doubt it. Anyway,Castle in the Sky(Laputa in the Sky) is a beautiful fantasy animation film that should not be forgotten, that's why i give Castle in the Sky(Laputa in the Sky) a 5 out of 5.
It was a very awsome and wonderful movie watch sadly the dudes father died but soon he became very successful. It was stupied he kept doing check fraud.
Plot/Summary,Set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War, War Horse begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets-British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter-before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man's Land. The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse-an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. My Review This is a film that in it's own way is narrated by the horse itself. The Film is narrated throughout the point of which you feel as if the horse named Joey is a character. That's what makes this film so great, you get connected with the horse because of how he effects people and cause of his friendships along his journey. War Horse is adapted from a novel by Michael Mopurago, this majestic World war 1 drama revolves around Devon lad Albert and his steadfast horse ,Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent off to France. To me the film revolves around Joey the horse and his journey in France, and in war. Steven Speilberg's direct is shown through the movie as well you can tell by the way it's shot it feels like a Steven Spielberg film. War Horse is a treat to good films that are also historic as well. War Horse don't miss it cause if you do,your denying yourself a splendid film with pure beauty and friendship and bonds through animals where you have two separate journey's. War Horse get's a 5 out of 5.
Plot/Summary A just divorced man must learn to care for his son on his own, and then must fight in court to keep custody of him Director(Robert Benton) Cast Dustin Hoffman(Ted Kramer) Meryl Steep(Johanna Kramer) Justin Henny(Billy Kramer) Jane Alexander(Margaret Philips) Howard Duff(Jhon Shaunessy) Jobeth Williams(Phyllis Bernard) My Review I hate you i hate you too you little shit Those are the words family should never say to each other. This movies Kramer vs Kramer tells the story about a divorced man who finally begins to have a bond with his child until he meets with his old wife and she wants her son back. As i heard the quotes i hate i hate you too you little shit that reminded me of the hard times i can have with my father yet we still love each other which means this motion picture gave me the real feeling of nostalgia about the bond between me and my father.Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Steep give the greatest performances in there career and it has nostalgia and reminds me of the bond between me and my father which is why i give Kramer vs Kramer a 5 out of 5.
Plot/Summary,Laid up with a broken leg, photojournalist L.B. Jeffries (James Stewart) is confined to his tiny, sweltering courtyard apartment. To pass the time between visits from his nurse (Thelma Ritter) and his fashion model girlfriend Lisa (Grace Kelly), the binocular-wielding Jeffries stares through the rear window of his apartment at the goings-on in the other apartments around his courtyard. As he watches his neighbors, he assigns them such roles and character names as "Miss Torso" (Georgine Darcy), a professional dancer with a healthy social life or "Miss Lonelyhearts" (Judith Evelyn), a middle-aged woman who entertains nonexistent gentlemen callers. Of particular interest is seemingly mild-mannered travelling salesman Lars Thorwald (Raymond Burr), who is saddled with a nagging, invalid wife. One afternoon, Thorwald pulls down his window shade, and his wife's incessant bray comes to a sudden halt. Out of boredom, Jeffries casually concocts a scenario in which Thorwald has murdered his wife and disposed of the body in gruesome fashion. Trouble is, Jeffries' musings just might happen to be the truth. 'My Review Alfred Hitchcock's riveting classic Rear Window revolves around Wheel chaired man L.B Jefferies who looks out his Rear Window and finds and i inexpiable mystery man whose behavior has Jeff convinced a murder has taken place. He looks each night through his Rear Window what the strange man is up to and trying to put the man in jail and find the evidence to do so. As the film progresses you begin to wonder if the strange man really did kill his wife. Jeffries is a photojournalist who calls Thomas Doyle the detective but Thomas will not support the case so it's only up to Jeffries,Stella, and Lisa to solve the case.Rear Window is in my case a detective classic, and film classic. That doesn't need too much to show how great of a film it is.The Shots through the Rear Window is superb,i thought that the shots would be kind of bad,not horrible, not godawful.I just thought it would be a little bad, like say five percent bad but no the shots in this film is amazing,as well as the Editing. The performances in this are amazing, but i was caught by James Stewart performance as Jeffries, and who could forget the wonderful Grace Kelly, i honestly thought she wouldn't do good to me but Grace Kelly as Lisa was spectacular.Rear Window is a classic that must not be forgotten. I love this film and i hope you do to. This Rear Window gets a five out of five.
Plot/Summary,Master animation director Hayao Miyazaki follows up on his record-breaking 1997 opus Princess Mononoke with this surreal Alice in Wonderland-like tale about a lost little girl. The film opens with ten-year-old Chihiro riding along during a family outing as her father races through remote country roads. When they come upon a blocked tunnel, her parents decide to have a look around -- even though Chihiro finds the place very creepy. When they pass through the tunnel, they discover an abandoned amusement park. As Chihiro's bad vibes continue, her parents discover an empty eatery that smells of fresh food. After her mother and father help themselves to some tasty purloined morsels, they turn into giant pigs. Chihiro understandably freaks out and flees. She learns that this very weird place, where all sorts of bizarre gods and monsters reside, is a holiday resort for the supernatural after their exhausting tour of duty in the human world. Soon after befriending a boy named Haku, Chihiro learns the rules of the land: one, she must work , as laziness of any kind is not tolerated; and two, she must take on the new moniker of Sen. If she forgets her real name, Haku tells her, then she will never be permitted to leave. My Review If this is the only film that master animator director Hayo Miyazaki directed and written that got an oscar man this Ghibli fan is piss. For quite a while now i have been watching many Ghibli films because i was on the search for good anime not so violent and without nudity anime's. But now i know i have not only found great anime films but great films in general and deserve great recognition and praise. I believe that everyone should watch a Ghibli film, for they are great films with small(and sometimes intense violence) but on most occasions are just beautifully crafted and complex kid's films that deserve Oscar's. This is Spirited Away. Spirited Away is a wonderous Fantasy that revolves around a young girl,Chhiiro, trapped in the spiriit world. When her parents undergo a mysterious transformation(into pigs) she must call upon the courage she never knew she had to free herself and her mother and father to the human world. This film is without a doubt inspired by Alice in wonderland but is a little different in way's i like and enjoy the movie for. This film is filled with astonishing animation and epic adventure,it is a dazzling masterpiece that must not be forgotten. I give the spirit world in Spirited Away a 5 out of 5.
Plot/Summary,Humphrey Bogart plays Harry Morgan, owner-operator of charter boat in wartime Martinique. Morgan's right-hand man is Eddie (Walter Brennan), a garrulous alky whose pet question to anyone and everyone is "Ever get stung by a dead bee?" While in port, Harry is approached by Free French activist Gerard (Marcel Dalio), who wants to charter Harry's boat to smuggle in an important underground leader. Adopting his usual I-stick-my-neck-out-for-no-one stance, Morgan refuses. Later on, he starts up a dalliance with Marie Browning (screen newcomer Lauren Bacall), an attractive pickpocket. In order to help Marie return to America, Harry agrees to Gerard's smuggling terms. He uses his boat to bring resistance fighter De Bursac (Walter Molnar) and De Bursac's wife Helene (Dolores Moran) into Martinique. The Vichy police, suspecting that something's amiss, hold Morgan's pal Eddie hostage, tormenting the poor rummy by denying him liquor. Predictably, Morgan comes to Eddie's rescue and manages to escape Martinique, with the delectable Marie as cozy company. In the hands of director Howard Hawks and screenwriters Jules Furthman and William Faulkner, the end result bore only a passing relation to the original story by Ernest Hemingway: instead, it was a virtual rehash (but a good one!) of the recently released Casablanca, replete with several of that film's cast members. The film's enduring popularity is primarily -- if not solely -- due to the sexy chemistry between Bogart and Bacall, especially in the legendary "You know how to whistle, don't you?" scene. The most salutary result of To Have & Have Not was the subsequent Bogart-Bacall marriage, which endured until his death in 1957. It's widely believed that Lauren Bacall's singing voice was dubbed in by a pre-puberty Andy Williams; this is not true. For the record, a more faithful-to-the-source cinemadaptation of the Hemingway original was filmed in 1950 as The Breaking Point. My Review A great black and white classic from Warners Bros To Have and have not revolves around Harry a captain boat owner played by the great Humprhery Bogart in wartime Martinque. Morgan's right hand man Eddie played by Walter Bernnan a garrulous alky whose pet question to anyone and everyone is "Ever get stung by a dead bee?" which to me is a funny one liner in this film. While in port Harry is approached by free French activist Gerard who want's to charter Harry's boat to smuggle in an an important underground. This film is fun it's masterful and really really really great.
