1
Heat 1995,  R)
Heat
Long running time but worth seeing again and again. Best shootout EVER. Ever.
2
GoodFellas 1990,  R)
GoodFellas
Fantastic. Violent but not gratuitious. Ray Liotta is perfect and Scorcese should have won the Oscar for both picture and director. Must see.
3
Dances With Wolves 1990,  PG-13)
4
Seven (Se7en) 1995,  R)
Seven (Se7en)
Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt are perfect as mismatched detectives on the trail of a VERY bad man. Not for the faint hearted.
5
Snatch 2001,  R)
Snatch
Director Guy Ritchie has created a lightnening paced crime caper full of legendary characters and dialouge. Bloody entertaining to put it mildly.
6
The Usual Suspects 1995,  R)
The Usual Suspects
5 cons end up in the same cell and decide to pool their efforts for profit. What follows is a modern crime epic that will leave viewers feeling punch-drunk.
7
Spartan 2004,  R)
Spartan
This is a prime example of a movie that I know isn't great but I swear it was made for the sole purpose of my enjoyment. I had a lot of fun watching this and if our MCT scores run paralell I fully recommend it. P.S - Val Kilmer is a tool.
8
The Shawshank Redemption 1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
Even if the twist has been spoiled for you, this must be seen. A perfect movie.
9
Unforgiven 1992,  R)
Unforgiven
Westerns may be out of fashion but this is a masterpeace.
10
The Boondock Saints 2000,  R)
The Boondock Saints
Very entertaining tale of two Boston Irish brothers on a mission to cleanse their neighbourhood of gangsters. Remains original despite using well-run subject matter.
11
Casino Royale 2006,  PG-13)
Casino Royale
The best Bond I've seen. Daniel Craig bashers, hang your head's in shame!
12
The World's Fastest Indian 2005,  PG-13)
The World's Fastest Indian
Sir Anthony Hopkins is Burt Munro, a crazy old coot from Invercargill, N.Z, who, in the 1960s, broke world speed records on his ancient Indian motorcycle. It's an amiable, mellow and sometimes moving film that left me wanting more.
13
Casino 1995,  R)
Casino
Death by baseball bat, cheaters' justice and tying up loose ends with silenced 9mm shots to the head. Such typhical Scorsese it could be called 'Goodfellas 2'
14
American History X 1998,  R)
15
Chinatown 1974,  R)
Chinatown
Old school detective tale worthy of some modern day kudos.
16
In America 2003,  PG-13)
In America
Normally I'd shun a film that has poverty as it's core but the cast, story and direction are all top-notch. Recommended.
17
Two Hands 1999,  R)
Two Hands
Funny and tense story about bungling Aussie crims from the wrong side of the tracks in Sydney. If you haven't seen Two Hands...Watch this TODAY!
18
Deadly Prey 1987,  R)
Deadly Prey
WOW! So bad it's AWESOME. Seriously - if you ever get the chance, watch this. You will be richer for it.
19
Cidade de Deus (City of God) 2002,  R)
Cidade de Deus (City of God)
I don't think this film skipped a beat. Nothing else I can write about it will do it justice.
