Definitely a mixed bag, as most reviews captured. I'm certainly passionate about the source material and love the playful execution of the action scenes, but I'm also painfully aware that Jackson & Spielberg have not transcended the uncanny valley. The animation feels creepy, especially for the secondary characters like the scene with opera singer Bianca Castafiore.
