I love this movie because it asks the question 'what makes a family?' in this day and age where if youre not the 'norm' it feels you don't have the right to exisit. Beautiful performances from Colin and Sissy. Worth watching.

This came out before 'Too Wong Foo'. Great cast, funny movie. 'It's not purple...it's Lavendaa' stuck in my head for weeks! I hear that there is a sequel in the works.

In my opinion the best of the Alien franchise.

Very imformative documentary about the LGBT movement in the US. A sequel to 'Before Stonewall' , this documentary shows you how far the LGBT community have come in a relatively short amount of time and also how much further it needs to go before true equality can be achieved.

Not your typical gay romance. I liked that the film showed a gay man with flaws. It seems to me at least that gay men in movies ALWAYS have their lives together and are utterly fabulous. I would say the majority aren't like that. Nice to see gay man protrayed as a human being for once.

Couldn't ask for a better cast, better directing or a better script. Never get tired of watching this. Alan Ball's script mesmerizes me each time I watch it.

Ed Norton is so good at being bad in this. You watch as he goes from diligent student to a white supremist. Fascinating.

I am not a big Jason Statham fan but if he continues to make movies like this I shall soon become one! A different movie for him, a lot of action replaced by reality and intelligence. Great cast with a few Brits I hadn't seen in a while...Peter Bowles for instance. My only problem with the movie was that they didn't make Jason's character look like a 70's man enough. In fact to me he looked more like George Michael in the 80's what with his scruff on his face. Overlooking that, I was glued to my seat from beginingto end!

Coming of age gay teen story. Linda Henry is so strong in this. Wonderful performance.

Gives you an idea of what gay life in Cuba before, during and after the revolution.

In my humble opinion Annette Benning should have won the Oscar for this.

Documentary on the start of the modern gay rights movement. Fascinating to watch to say the least. Before 1972 gays and lesbians were thought to be mentally ill! Weve come a long way.

I find with this movie you fall into two categories...you either love it and laugh non stop or you hate it and don't get it. I still laugh each time I watch it.

If you aren't particularly close to your dad you need to watch this. Very touching.

How can you not laugh at this movie. EVERYONE in this does such a great job. Agador Spartacus rocks lol! Gene Hackman in drag does not.

Hillary Swank breaks your heart in this. Tragic story of transgendered Brandon Teena. Is it just me or does ms. Swanklook eerily like Matt Damon in this movie?

Didn't think I would like this movie at all but I was wrong. The scene where Meryl is clutching the door handle in the car watching helplessly as the love of her life drives away is hauntingly beautiful.

The scenery is amazing. You really feel for both characters.You're a witness to how societal 'norms' come between and eventually tear them apart. Sad, beautiful and very moving. Can't believe Heath is gone.

Timeless, amazing movie. Liza won the Oscar for her performance. The soundtrack is also well worth purchasing. Never get tired of watching this.

A classic but only in B&W. I keep hoping she won't get on the plane. Hasn't happened yet.

Chickens trying to escape a chicken farm run by the gloriously evil Miranda Richardson. Julia Sawalha and Jane Horrocks are really fabulous in this. Makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Really unbelievable that this movie was nominated for 11 Oscars and came away with nothing. Absolute disgrace. 'The Color Purple' infuses me with hope. Oprah, Whoopi and Danny nail their performances.

A multinational company uses people as test subjects for their drugs. Probably happens more than we like to admit. Really important movie. Highly reccomend.

If youre the slightest bit interested in sci-fi you have to watch this. I really enjoyed how Jodie's character comes to understand that not only are we not alone in the universe, but how were also all connected.

Watch it. It can be a little slow but keep going....it will educate and scare you.

Never been a fan of martial art movies but this is the exception. If you do watch it I would suggest watching the version with subtitles.

Have never been a big Leo fan but he redeems himself in this movie. Matt Damon and Mark Walburg aren't bad at all either. Jack is as always brilliant.

I laughed my ass off with this movie. Meryl Streep is fabulous!

Deepa Mehta scores again in this beautifully shot movie about the Partition beween India and Pakistan and how religious zealousness can fuel an already out of control fire. Nandita Das and Aamir Khan really shine.

Reese is hysterical in this. man you just want to smack her character into next week. Smart movie.

Seth MacFarlane is a fucking genius period!

Comedy/drama. Sarah Jessica Parker does well to break from Carrie Bradshaw. Great cast.

Julianne walks in on Dennis Quaid and another man. Being gay in the 50's was torturous. Solid performances as ususal by Julianne Moore and Dennis Quaid. Dennis Haysbert and Viola Davis in my opinion didn't get enough screen time for their talents.

The first of Deepa Mehta's trilogy,this movie caused a great deal of protest by hindu fundamentalists due to it's 'controversial' subject. Well directed and acted.

I hear Jennifer Lopez was up for this or trying to create her own project regarding Frida Kahlo. After watching this in my opinion no one would come close to Salma Hayek's portrayal. She puts her heart and soul into this little film. Great cast, amazing movie. Even if youre not into art I reccomend this highly. Real masterpiece.

Ben Kingsley's Oscar winning role. Every time I watch it I feel he's channeling Gandhi.

I love Andrew Niccol's clinical view of the the future. Very underated movie in my opinion.

Stephen Frears does an excellent job directing this. Great cast in Houston, Benning and Cussack. If you haven't seen it, give it a go.

Todd Solondz is a sick and twisted director.....lets hope he never changes!

Gillian really goes the opposite direction of Scully in this movie. I think she should have been nominated for an Oscar.

Tragic tale but no doubt about it, as amazing as Ben and Jennifer are, Shoreh completely steals the movie from under them.

No matter where you stand on this issue, it's a good movie to watch.

Shows you the inequality that gay and lesbian americans live with everyday.

Toni, Cameron,Shirley and the elderly Jewish ladies really make this movie. Having had to struggle through school most of my life I understood Cameron's character quite a bit. Toni is so good as the older sister who's had to be part mother. Well worth watching.

Everyone should watch this documentary. It will touch you greatly and shows you how strong the human spirit is.

If you watch 60 Minutes religiously you'll enjoy this. The tabacco lobby is way too strong in this country.

Not a Tom Cruise fan but Pitt, Dunst and Banderas did a great job. Neil Jordan is such a good director. Well made movie.

One of several movie made about the brutal death of Matthew Shepard. This movie is a collection of interviews from actual residents of Laramie. Amazing cast. Intense. Moving. A must see.

On a side note, it's been ten years since Matthew's brutal death and we still do not have a Federal Hate Crimes law. One wonders how many other Matthews there have already been and how many more there will be before the Government starts to look seriously at a Hate Crimes law.

Think everyone on death row is guilty? Sure the judicial system works? Think again.

What a fabulous indie! Is there nothing that Toni Collette can't play? The entire cast does a wonderful job. Also loved the scene where the horn sticks....reminds me of Peter Griffin's laugh!!

Again, was dragged to this and again I was grateful for it! I didn't know it was part of a trilogy so I was REALLy ticked off when it ended and I knew I had to wait for what seemed like an eternity for the next installment!

Equally as good as the first though I found a little bit more slang which just didn't meld with the fantasy.

Brilliant film making. Definitely the best of the trilogy.

Amazing movie about a young transgender boy and the intolerance he faces not just from society but also from his family.

Slow to start. Subtitles may be too quick at times but in the end a very funny movie.

Guy Pearse and Carrie-Anne Moss do a splendid job in this mind twist. Great direction by Christopher Nolan.

I watched this with a bunch of strangers in a dankened theater. I would say the majority of those people were straight. At the end of the movie spontaneous applause broke out. I was amazed but such is how 'Milk' can and has touched people, regardless of orientation. The day when we have true and complete equality on the Federal level is coming, but not soon enough.

First movie I saw with Toni Collette and Rachel Griffiths...what versatile actresses. Cult classic. Also you'll enjoy it if like me you like ABBA lol!

Great cast...Dolly Parton's film debut. Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are amazing as ever. Dabney is soooo good at being the sexist biggoted boss. Always makes me laugh.

Very touching movie of a husband and father transitioning from male to female. Jessica Lange as always is spectacular.

Christina Ricci is one of the best manipulators ever in this movie. Don Roos does a good job with direction.

Beautifully shot. Keeps you a little on the edge until the very end. Nicole as ususal is amazing. The child actors and Fionnula Flanagan are also perfect in this. Very talented film maker in Alejandro Amenabar.

Definitely a documentary for you if you watch Fox 'news'. Proves what a propaganda station Fox 'news' is and what a bully O'Reilly is . Fox 'news' fair and balanced? Yeah right!

Ive been a Fincher fan ever since 'se7en'. Liked this movie a lot though the ending was way too abrupt.

Documentary about nazi persecution of gay's and lesbians. This is an extraordinary film. Their treatment like most minorities under the nazi's was brutal and inhuman. You don't just see, you feel the pain the subjects of this documentary are still in. Harrowing to watch but an important film.

Holly HUnter and Anna Paquin both won Oscars's for this. Beautifully shot. Love jane Campion's direction.

Smart sci fi....kept me on the edge of my seat.

Hannibal Lecter is still the best villain around. This is the prequel to 'Silence of the Lambs'. Much better movie than 'Hannibal' which was just too gory.

Kevin Spacey totally steals this movie from Brad and Morgan. David Fincher's direction is dark and powerful. Been a fan of his ever since.

The ending threw me for a loop which is a good thing. Certainly one to watch again. Toni Collette is such a chameleon. Is there anything she can't play?

'Soldiers Girl' chronicles the savage killing of Barry Winchell. It's certainly difficult to watch but nonetheless a movie everyone should see. Troy Garity and Lee Pace play their parts beautifully. Just my opinion but the military needs to get rid of DADT and start educating it's soldiers so we have no more Mr. Winchell's.

This movie always makes me laugh! They had to shoot in B&W because Tony Curtis and Jack Lemon in drag looked hideous in color lol!!

Ok it's not the best movie ever made but for some reason this movie just makes me feel good. Good cast but hard to see Alfre Woodard be such a fake in this movie.

There are so many reasons to love this movie. The cast is just amazing. Sally Feild gives a stellar performance. Shirley Mclaine, Olympia Dukakis, Julia Roberts and Dolly Parton do admirable jobs as well. This movie gets me every time!

Matt Damon's performance in this movie is outstanging. Great cast in Jude Law, Gweneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett and Philip Seymor Hoffman.

Want to know what happens when you trade in your civil liberties for 'security'? watch and be afraid....be very afraid.

The final instalment of Deepa Mehta's trilogy. Story of a young girl in an arranged marriage who becomes a widow at 9. She must now live as a beggar and fend for herself. Disturbing that this was more a common practice in India until not too long ago. Unfortunately this still happens but hopefully not as frequently. I would reccomend watching the trilogy.....'Fire', 'Earth', 'Water'.

I was dragged to this but I'm glad I was.

Much better movie than the first.

One of the most heartbreakingly beautiful movies I have seen. Richard jenkins gives a marvelous performance as a man disconnected from his life and his work. Through a meeting of chance he meets Danai and Haaz and begins to feel his life again. For me as great as Richarrd, Denai and Hiam are the star for me was newcomer Haaz Sleiman. I feel in love with his amazing smile and optimism. This movie also pointed out the insanity of our immigration system. It's antiquated and broken and IMHO in needs to be fixed in a humanitarian way.

This is with pre-insane Mel Gibson. Sigourney is bloody amazing as always but Linda Hunt steals the show and won an Oscar for it.

This absolutely blew me away! It is visually stunning and Colin Firth really puts in a fantastic performance. Correction, the entire cast does. One of the most touching and beautiful moments in the film is when Matthew and Colin are sitting on a couch with their dogs reading. You feel the closeness and the love they have for each other.

I highly highly recommend watching this.

Just a bit of interesting trivia. When Colin walk's into the college he teaches at, the two men sitting on either end of the couch are the partners of Tom Ford and Christopher Isherwood, who of course is the author of 'A Single Man'

If youve ever thought the oil companies, the car companies and the energy companies have no soul and are hell bent on destroying our planet while they live high on the hog.....you'll love this movie. You'll also want to tear your hair out! GM sucks.
