My most absolute favorite sunday movie with one of the greatest gunfight showdowns in movie history, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is, in my opinion, the best western ever made and also simply one of the best films of all time regardless of country of origin.
Funny, atmospheric, beautifully filmed and packed with fantastic ideas carried by Leone's wonderful eye for cinema and Ennio Morricone's epic and unforgetable score. Every element of the film is larger than life and twice as dynamic with plenty of detail turning it into an epic of greed and testosterone fueled emotion. There are many scenes in the film that give a look inside the characters, all three as big of a bad ass as the other, in ways that lend depth to the story. Love it
2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY is acknowledged as one of the greatest science fiction movies of all time, so there is nothing I can say in this review that would change anyone's opinion, even if I wanted to. Stanley Kubrick's film places a perspective on just how primitive and inconsequential man is, even at our current state of evolution, and I'll never get tired of experiencing it over and over.
Even if you don't know what it all means, even if it's ultimately puzzling and unexplainable, there is a feeling, an emotional response that persists. There is a strange logic of death, evolution, and birth. The kind that must be felt and seen, instead of pondered.
