A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Great story of Francie, growing up in 1900s Brooklyn, poor, with a scrimping mother and an alcoholic father. I bawled when Francie got her graduation bouquet.

Sinister tenant (Michael Keaton) methodically destroys the house a young couple have renovated into apartments to help pay the mortgage. Great ending!

The story of a bored, cheating housewife who's lover manipulates her into killing her husband, but the wife spills the poison and it ends up not being enough to kill him. Watch what happens when he wakes up!

Melanie Griffith is great in this movie about a young office worker who learns that climbing the corporate ladder can be unfair and tough when the female boss steals her idea.

The Fisher King
Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges are terrific together in this moving story about a DJ who's callous insults cause a tragic murder and the victim he tries to to help in order to lift himself out of his 3-year depression. This is a wonderful study in human behavior and bonding.

Great true story about 8 sled dogs stranded in the Antartic for many months and the strong bond the dogs have for each other as they struggle to survive the winter alone.

Sam Peek (Hume Cronyn) is trying to cope with his wife's death (Jessica Tandy) when he sees a white dog that seems to appear when no one is around. Wonderful love story!

Another great movie about a wrongfully convicted man (Tim Robbins), his friendship with another prisoner (Morgan Freeman) and his redemption. Really great ending!
