1
The Shawshank Redemption 1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
My all time favorite movie. By the end of the movie you are emoitionally invested in Andy and Red. The ending gives the viewer a great deal of satisfaction and the story is moving.
2
Good Will Hunting 1997,  R)
Good Will Hunting
The movie is very well done. Robin Williams character is inspiring, and Matt Damon is a sympathetic character by the end.
3
American History X 1998,  R)
American History X
The ending is what makes this movie great. It doesn't follow the plan too what should be a happy ending and Norton's portrayal of a skinhead who redeems himself is believeable and you feel genuine sympathy at the end.
4
The Usual Suspects 1995,  R)
5
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
This movie is fast paced, and probably requires multiple viewings to catch all the plot details. It sets up for the sequel, though probably not the way they would have liked. While Maggie Gyllenhall does nto really seem to fit the character she plays, Aaron Eckhart plays his role very well. Within the first few mintues after meeting the Joker you forget that it is Heath ledger.
6
Forrest Gump 1994,  PG-13)
Forrest Gump
The movie is thouroughly engaging and I watch it everytime it is on TV. The movie is a little sad at parts, and gives some hope as well.
7
Office Space 1999,  R)
Office Space
This is a classic movie, especially for anyone who works in an office environment.
8
Batman 1989,  PG-13)
Batman
To me Keaton is the Best Batman out of all those who have played him. The plot is good and if you get past the campy Joker, or even like this take ont he Joker even better, it is a very entertaining movie. Though it does seem a bit dated now by the special effects.
9
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi 1983,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
This rounds out the stories. While I am not a fan of the ewoks, the ending is satisfying and for it's time the special effects are really good. I don't like the tinkering the Lucas did with the updated versions as far as putting CGI characters and adding int he new Annikan Skywalker.
10
Jurassic Park 1993,  PG-13)
Jurassic Park
The special effects of this movie are great, and the plot is good. While it doesn't quite live up to the book, itis about all you can expect.
