Amélie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) 2001,  R)
Amélie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
Bloody brilliant. Who would have thought a movie so strange could be so beautiful!
2
The Corporation 2003,  Unrated)
The Corporation
Noam Chomsky! Naomi Klein! Absolutely brilliant.
3

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Wo hu cang long)
Beautiful picture.

The 11th Hour 2007,  PG)
The 11th Hour
I highly recommend this because it explains our current climate challenges as stemming from a leadership crisis. We need a change! (Served as my introduction to Sigur Rňs.)
5
The Fifth Element 1997,  PG-13)
The Fifth Element
I love action and romance combos! I want to be just like Milla. And the costumes are by Jean Paul Gaultier. Enough said.
6
Finding Nemo 2003,  G)
Finding Nemo
Absolutely fun!
7
La Haine (Hate) 1995,  R)
La Haine (Hate)
Really superb. It reminds me of SWEET SIXTEEN, with its subtitles for the kids' sociolect. There are some really--really--funny parts to punctuate the almost incessant conflict.
8
The House Bunny 2008,  PG-13)
The House Bunny
Great soundtrack. This would be one of those movies I love despite the fact that many might hate it (including myself) because it flies in the face of feminism. Too bad for them; there are too many good lines to disregard it.

I Love You, Man 2009,  R)
I Love You, Man
Jason Segel in Ugg boots is an image I'll cherish forever. I also really appreciate how they allude to CHOCOLAT. However, is it really challenging homophobia?
10
Immortal Beloved 1994,  R)
Immortal Beloved
I never fail to cry at the end, but I will love this movie forever.
11
Love in the Afternoon 1957,  G)
Love in the Afternoon
Well, it is such a cute little story! What will happen to Michel?
12
Mary Poppins 1964,  G)
Mary Poppins
A fantastic story, obviously. I love to laugh!
13
The Nightmare Before Christmas 1993,  PG)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
How bizarre! How much fun singing those songs!
14
Northanger Abbey 2007,  Unrated)
Northanger Abbey
Wickedly cute.
15
Out of Sight 1998,  R)
Out of Sight
Could this movie be any hotter? I don't think so. Lopez and Clooney are out of sight!
16
The Parole Officer 2001,  R)
The Parole Officer
I laughed so hard, and Coogan is just adorable in this!
17
Pride and Prejudice 2005,  PG)
Pride and Prejudice
Keira Knightley is excellent. The scenery is beautiful. The telling is so endearing. And I just love Simon Woods!
18
Run Lola Run (Lola rennt) 1998,  R)
Run Lola Run (Lola rennt)
Amazing music. Wicked story. Manni's lips are gorgeous!
19
The Saint 1997,  PG-13)
The Saint
It's got action, it's got romance, it's got Russia--it's got everything. Val Kilmer is really talented!
20
Sense and Sensibility 1995,  PG)
Sense and Sensibility
One of the happiest happy endings I can think of.
21
Shaolin Soccer 2001,  PG-13)
Shaolin Soccer
I liked the review: 'It's like THE MATRIX, KILL BILL, CROUCHING TIGER and every Jackie Chan routine combined!' Something you'd watch more than once.
22
She's the Man 2006,  PG-13)
She's the Man
You don't expect it, but it does the Shakespeare mistaken-gender humour flawlessly and makes it accessible to everyone. Favourite scene: when Sebastian proves to a whole stadium of soccer fans that he is in fact a boy! Beautiful.
23
Stealing Beauty 1996,  R)
Stealing Beauty
Liv is really good. The setting is so romantic. The story is pretty beautiful, too.
24
Superbad 2007,  R)
Superbad
I LOVE this movie. I literally laugh my ass off. I love Michael Cera's character better than McLovin', believe it or not.
25
XXX 2002,  PG-13)
XXX
Loses air by the end. But it's good for action and Rammstein music! Sometimes I wish I could be Asia Argento. Sometimes.
