i honestly am speechless after seeing this movie. 2 hours and 18 minutes of pure amazement. the cast, the script, the costumes, the score (also done by Tykwer) ....everything works magically. Ben Whishaw captivates us with a character unlike any you'll witness in cinema. this is by far the greatest film i've seen in years. i really can't say enough about it. an absolute must see, must own.....
this is simply one of the freshest movies ever. Busey and Fox are at their best. Thank You Peter Jackson. you once again prove your existence to the masses pre-LOTR. oh and extra special thanks to Mr. Combs for just being him....
i wish i could give this movie more than five stars. from it's compelling storyline to it's landmark cinematography, Children of Men is cinematic glory. plenty of long-takes (which i love purely for the raw effect it brings) and jaw-dropping visuals, including a 12 minute car scene that is simply incredible. this is one of the greatest films i have ever seen, period.
does it get any better than a fat, hairy red-headed man, who also happens to be blinded and naked, running rampant through Times Square in the middle of the day?
after i watched it, turned it back on and watched it again. Portman is amazing as is hugo, of course. loved the terroristic storyline set in a not-so-distant future.
re-release of the phenomenal Nosferatu, this time with David Carradine hosting and music by Type O Negative all the way through. adds a very eerie undertone.
extremelly well written script by writer-director Joe Carnahan. amazing cast....i can't say that anyone was bad in this. and there are lots of characters to keep track of, which i love. standouts were Andy Garcia and suprisingly, Ryan Reynolds. i thought this film was overly promoted (if there is such a thing). loved the overall visual style. a must see......
the fact that this movie is based on a true story makes it that much more bad ass. extremely intense and never a dull moment. Sharon Stone gives her best performance to date and JT has proven himself a triple threat, although that is no big surprise to me. i recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys dark and disturbing dramas. brilliant job by Cassavetes.
i can't even give a review that would do this double feature justice. how about "i held my piss for a solid, and gut-wrenching, 2 hours?" yes, it's that good. i happen to like Death Proof more than Planet Terror as well....
this movie is absolutely beautiful. i saw it years ago when it came out and it still remains one of the greatest epics in celluloid. if you don't shed tears watching, seek medical attention.....
just watched this again last night. such a great movie. i almost forgot how bad ass Malky is as Teddy "KGB." but he is my fav after all. also the first film i appreciated Matt Damon in....most excellent cast and flawless film, even if you're not a poker fan.
forget the strong sexual content. forget the nudity (ok, maybe not that!) :D this movie is the shit! a compelling story about a broken man and a woman whose past haunts her to the point of no control. Sam Jackson gives the performance of his career as Laz, an old bluesman whose wife leaves him for another man. after a night of much alcoholic consumption, he awakens the next morning to find Rae, played by Ricci, beaten and half naked outside of his home. he soon discovers Rae has the "devil inside" and decides to cure her of her sickness. after all the hype. after all the anticipation. and after all, it is Christina Ricci, i had no choice but to give this film a well deserved five stars. and did i mention the music/score is fucking fantastic? this movie is a must see, must own!
Matt Damon is absolutely superb as Jason Bourne, possibly the greatest assassin in the history of celluloid. Clive Owen is exceptionally good as well. he could have his own spin-off. please do not stop making these!
this is still probably the only movie i like Vin Diesel in as an actor. but everyone is just amazing in this. i love Barry Pepper and, of course, Malky. excellent mob flick with some funny lines: "who the fuck are Brooks & Dunn? people dance to this?" must see, must own!
funniest musical since "Cannibal: The Musical!" i consistantly laughed throughout the entire movie. also the music is much better than their first album. i am sad to say that you won't like this at all if you don't like the D. great cameos from Tim Robbins, Dave Grohl, and Ben Stiller.
