I had high hopes for this after all the hype and it live up to most of it. It's more of a thriller than an all out action film. It has a cool soundtrack, very stylized shots, I can see why it had a certain 80's vibe to it. The violence I wasn't expecting hits suddenly and hard. A film where a lot is left to the imagination of the viewer. There is little in back story, dialogue, reasoning etc but it doesn't matter. It creates lots of little sub plots you could picture yourself. To be honest I had hoped for a bit more action, especially another really good car chase. The film in the second half takes a different lead though and becomes a dark gritty thriller, but still a very good film.

Cowboys & Aliens PG-13

A decent western, up there with some of the better ones. Once you add the aliens though it went a bit down hill. Great if you like no brainer action blockbusters, which is the category this fall's into more, but I felt with the production and good cast this could have been way better. The SFX are pretty good on the whole, not a fan of the alien creature design though. Overall a good fun film, full of action and a fine cast.....just a slightly silly story line.

The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers PG-13

My favourite of the trilogy. Has so much going on in it, one of the best epic battle scenes in any film.

Inception PG-13

A brilliant film, the type the cinema was made for! It has the same kind of wow factor the Matrix had when that first came out. In many ways it has some similarities to that, great visual effects, awesome action scenes and entering a universe via your mind. It sounds more complicated in theory than it is in practice. A team of people can join a persons dream in order to try and find out secret information. In a dreamworld though nearly anything can be possible, and trying to convince the dreamer it is in fact reality can prove difficult. It has a great cast, but most of all it is an engrossing story and idea that will keep you entertained for the full 148 mins, It really doesn't feel that long though. Maybe it is a tad long, and you might question some of the theories, or parts of the plot. However these are very minor details to what is one of the best films to have been released in years!!
