Blade Runner 1982,  R)
Blade Runner
Okay, I just saw the FINAL CUT.

IT's so much more brilliant than that crappy theatrical release. Everything that I loved was improved, and everything that slightly bothered me was perfected.

Please, excuse anything bad I said about it, becuase it's fastly becoming my favorite movie of all time.

No Country for Old Men
I'm not one for going with the general populative opinion, but this movie is amazingly awesome.

Here's the deal. This redneck steals some cash from a mexican shoot-out gone wrong over drugs. So they send this crazy guy named Anton who is one of the coolest villain's ever to kill him.
Oh, and he kills people by using compressed oxygen to blow a hole in their brain.

You have to like Coen brothers movies in order to appreciate it.

My favorite part is the ending.

And I highly recommend it.

The Fall 2006,  R)
The Fall
I have not seen such an amazing film in so long. You have no idea how refresihing it was to watch brilliance on screen.

Every single thing in the film is well done. The acting is amazing. Especially from Lee Pace. The visual story telling is...

Gosh. I can't even talk about it. I'm so speechless.

I love it. The story was well told and creatively draws you in. It seems they trick you into thinking the fake story is the main focus, but ti isn't. And this becomes painstakingly real near the end.

I just rewatched this movie, becuase I had spent a couple of months lending it out so all of my friends would watch it.

I had forgotten how amzing it is. Well, how amazing Edward Norton is.

I mean...truly his performance is worth the entire movie and without his character...the movie is just...plain.

Young Guns 1988,  R)
Young Guns
I love this movie. Their are so many of "those guys" in it and Lou Diamond Phillips is so hot. Billy the kid is crazy and actually as the main char. provides a lot of the comedic relief. Funny, but you care about the characters.
16
Tommy 1975,  PG)
Tommy
I grew up watching this movie and I'm a really big THE WHO fan, so I love this film, but I'm completly biased about it. I might love it for no good reason.

Hostage 2005,  R)
Hostage
The art of story telling amazes me sometimes and I end up appreciating movies for the oddest of reasons. The is one of my favorite "pop in a film 'cuz I?m bored" movies. If that makes any sense. The beginning as me sucked in at first glance, from the interesting opening titles to Willis talking on the phone with a crazy guy about to shoot his family. It begins calm and throughout the film keeps me on the edge of my seat.
I mean the story in general is unique to me, or at least done uniquely. Usually the bad guys are so one-dimensional and just there to impose a threat, but every character has a purpose in this film. Even Kevin Pollack who is a wonderful "character actor" plays a father with a secret agenda hidden from his children. Not to mention this is the first film I saw Ben Foster in, and probably my favorite psycho role he?s played sense.
Yes, you may be able to detect the demise of the two brothers at the hands of Mars. And sometimes that chick was really annoying, but I love movies that make every character important.
When that girl officer gets shot, her death scan is done so sadly. And seeing her lying dead in Willis?s lap is moving.

I just genuinely love this flick.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 1975,  R)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
This goes on my list of favorite movies of all time.

I just all makes sense. Everything about the charcters and the way they behave...God, and they were all so Brilliant..so perfectly played...
Few movies have evoked an emotional or physical response form me...but when Chief is talking to McMurphy and he says "I couldn't leave without you. I won't leave you here like this."

I was like "Oh, that's good that he's gonna stay with him."

Then he says "Let's go"

And I'm like "Oh, I guess he's gonna carry him to Canada."

And the camera cuts, to McMurphy layiing in his bed and chief takes the pilllow out from under him. At this point I was still insanely naive to the situation and I believed that he was just moving the pillow out of the way. Then, I saw the pillow go over McMurphy's face and I literally
sat up in bed, gasped and screamed "NO!" I covered my face, and stared on in disbelief.
My dad even ran in my room to see what happened, then he looked at the tv and and evil grin spread across his face. Stupid Dad...he smiled at me and left.
I started crying..something I DO NOT do at a movie.

At first I was disapointed in this movie becasue it wsn't what I expected, but then I watched it again and apreciated it for the level that it was on.

3:10 to Yuma 2007,  R)
3:10 to Yuma
Russell Crow and Christian Bale are complete gold in this movie. The dialogue they share with one another is remarkably sarcastic and darkly comical. Ben Foster, I gotta say, steals every scene he is in with another one of his sadistic character creations. All the best parts reveal what happens, so I can?t say much other than I appreciate and love the genuine uniqueness of this film. The ending is so perfect for the story and?I just?I mean my expectations going into the movie were very high and I wasn?t disappointed. At first, I was a little worried about the opening, but I just fell in love with this great Western.
I'm so glad to see a new Western.

The Quick and the Dead 1995,  R)
The Quick and the Dead
I love Westerns. And I love movies with a various amount of interesting charcters killing each other or just doing anything. I mean look at the freaking cast! Hackman, Crowe, Keith David, Sinise.
Director of EVIL DEAD? Heck yes. I usually don't like Sharon Stone, but I always like to see a "tough woman" who actually makes sense. Most tough women in movies are trying too hard and really going for that 'I'm so cute' effect, but I believe Stone in this movie. I believe that her dad died and that she grew up badly. DiCaprio provided a nice reminder at how bad of a person Hackman's character is. Crowe was great as well. But he usually is...

Awakenings 1990,  PG-13)
Awakenings
I'm already a big fan of movies that take place in institutions, which is an odd niche to have. So when I saw this movie for the first time about a year ago I gasped at finding out that I had never heard of it.

It's a very sad, but extremely intellegent movie that speaks wonders on the human condition and life.

I guess I just love the idea of various characters with dozens of back stories.

+ I love Robin Williams.

I don't know if you can tell yet, but I'm extremely impressed with this film.

I'll tell you what I can without giving too much away.

Judging by what is shown in the movie trailer, their is FAR more depth than you would think. Countless times in the story it is fueled only by music and visual storytelling. Yes, the characters are funny and the "big adventure" thing is an instant snag for the children and people with young hearts. The movie really creates the lure and nostalgia of remembering the dreams you had when you were young. I swear, to God it's like watching a good french film. Plus, all the music sounded like something from an old 1940's film. Not just the old singers, but the strings you would hear from something like Gone With The Wind or Wuthering Heights. It suited the film beautifully.!

It has extremely powerful, genuine character driven drama. I could be slightly biased because it had me crying within the first 10 minutes of the film, which created this wonderful tug on my heart and sincere connection with the movie. They also established a particular theme song, for what made me cry. So whenever the theme would appear I thought of this one element of the film that was the entire backbone of the plot! Only one other film has had me crying like a moron because the storytelling was done so well.

Gosh.
