A movie filled with some of the finer points in movie making, great cast, incredible music, wonderful camera work, and by far some of the best writting in a movie for the last decade.
I originally saw this in the theater before Disney got it's paws on it, and it was called Laputa. One of the originals in the late 80's and early 90's to cross the Pacific and cause some waves, along with other's like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and of course Robotech.
I loved Batman Begins, but as far as I am concerned, Tim Burton had the right idea as far as Batman goes. Plus, no one(not even Heath) can top Jack Nicolson as The Joker, Nobody.
Since I have a few family members whom consider themselves Wicken, this is a good movie to show great interpersonal relationships, but to show that there is more to being a witch, than flying on a broom. Great ending, loved the roof-top leap.
One of the most heart-felt movie about the way the world was, and how one person can help shape the things around him such as the fact of the tale of Col. Robert Gould Shaw, and the 54th Mass.
Just watched this again on DVD after a long time of non-viewing, and it reminds me of when movies could be both educational, and pure entertainment at the same time.
