My most favorite film!! The depiction of the brutal life in prison is just too good. The performances by Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman are just mindblowing . To me it was better than Forrest Gump by a long shot. Fear can hold you a prisoner, Hope can set you free. Hope is the best thing we can look up to.

Very Dark, Very thrilling and full of suspense, Mindblowing performance from heath ledger, The best movie of 2008 and perhaps the best batman movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!

A very strange yet totally awesome movie that has the thrills and suspense dripping from each and every scene. The best part of the movie is the screenplay, the direction and the fact that the plot unfolds backward. Each scene is explained by the next scene and every significant object's existence is explained. The plot itself was quite appealing and coupled with Guy Pearce's brilliant performance makes this film an unmissable one .

Awsum performances by Chazz Palminteri , Gabriel Byrne and Kevin Spacey coupled with the amazing plot and the great twist at the end, really makes it a must watch film.

Tom Hanks delivers most probably the best performance in his life! Forrest Gump played by hanks is not smart , a little shy and a little dumb experiences some of the historical events . The film follows his life from d bare beginnings when he was a child to when he became a widower. His football playing days , his days at d vietnam war , his ping pong playing days to his life after retirement and his long marathon everything was beautifully sculptured with a dash humour due to which one cant help smiling. During all these events his thought for his childhood love Jenny strengthened and after a troubled life Jenny finally returns back to Forrest and leaves ... again. One day she sends him a letter and as Forrest visits her he finds out that he is a dad. As he is filled with ecstasy he also finds out about Jenny's illness and at last the film ends with tears as Jenny passes away. A must watch foe everyone!!

Kevin Spacey once more steps into the bad guy's shoes and delivers a good perfomance. Added to that the man's mission of commiting 'The seven deadly sins ' fueled the film with a gripping plot plus Morgan Freeman's ' a class above the rest' performance created a total thriller.

An awe-inspiring film showing the racists and their activities which rage large in the us. The film follows the story of a brutal Neo Nazi skinhead named Derek Vinyard is tried and sent to prison for three years for the murder of two black guys who tried to steal his truck. When he returns from prison reformed, his younger brother Daniel Vinyard who idolizes him is on the brink of becoming a Neo Nazi himself. Derek tries to stop his younger brother from straying into the wrong path as him after he realises that all he has done , waging war against the blacks , has not improved his life, instead made it more miserable. The story ends with his younger brother being shot dead by a black who racist who had a grudge on him , thus finishing the great film with a note of sadness.
A hard hitting film which is filled wit the elements of brutality and hate. Edward Norton's intense performance is itself enough for people to watch the film. A film shedding light on the severe conditions amongst the blacks and the whites in some parts of the country was really shocking .

Thou must not miss this film.

A beautiful film !!! The story revolves around a dying father and his son, who is trying to learn more about his dad by piecing together the stories he has gathered over the years . The film follows the incredible life of Edward Bloom, through a series of flashbacks. His son while growing up always heard of his dad's fictional and fantasy mixed stories and believed that his dad either had a second life with family elsewhere or didn't want to have a family in the first place which is why he told stories. The narration of the film is and the way it progresses was pretty nice and at times you really find it hard to separate the fact from fiction. The ending of the film with Edward Bloom dying was very touching and at that time both ecstasy and sorrow will fill you up. At times it felt like i was a little again with my and being told a story as i am going off to bed .The characters were unique, the narration was great and being a fairytale with a realistic touch its a must watch.

This film is just mindblowing . It depicts the true scenario of the slums of mumbai which will take most people by surprise.

A really nice, good and touching movie that goes deep beyond boxing and conveys that there is not always dissatisfaction in dying at an early age coz many people live longer and still are not satisfied as they don't get the opportunities in life they desired while others reach a level beyond their expectations. Great direction by Clint Eastwood and superb performances by the star cast.

A very out of the block film with lots of thrills and fun. A cool movie but lacked a proper story and at times boring. Everything was good, the acting,the direction.... But the only drawback for me was the unfinished story and the skimpy plot though it matched very well with the title of the movie.

One of the best films, not in English, i have ever seen. In the early 1980s,East Germany, the successful dramatist Georg Dreyman and his longtime companion Christa-Maria Sieland, a popular actress, are big intellectual stars in the socialist state, although they secretly don't always think loyal to the party line. Suspecting that Dreyman is linked to West Germany and may revolt an agent of the secret service, agent Wiesler is instructed to observe and conduct surveillance on the writer and his lover.But their life fascinates him more and more due to which he keeps quiet as an offensive article against their Govt. is published . As pandemonium strikes the Govt. they bring in Christa Marie for questioning where she spills the beans and as the police goes back to search Dreyman's house for an illegal typewriter Christa commits suicide as Dreyman learns about his wife's unfaithful action. But little did everyone know that the secret agent Weisler already hid the typewriter before the police's arrival. After finding nothing the police leave, pissed off and close the case. Years later as the wall is brought down and as restrictions on artistic expressions are lifted Dreyman finds out to his surprise that his entire house was wire tapped and he was surveyed all the time. He publishes a book later thanking Wiesler.

A film which grips u till the end . Great direction and great performance by Ulrich Mühe. A must watch!!

"All the world's a stage..."

Wow! A brilliant film where Truman Burbank an insurance salesman/adjuster, lives a happy life as a normal man in a normal man without knowing that his entire life is the focus of a TV show where it is manipulated in accordance with the show's creator. Living a fake life in a world running according to the script Truman slowly discovers the reality. Great direction by Peter Weir and as in most cases classic Jim Carrey makes this one of the best dramas i have ever seen. Recommended for everyone.

Nice Movie with unique blend of action, style and comedy along with a dark violent backdrop. A smart action thriller that catches you by surprise by offering many unexpected things. Overall a great sweet thriller that has its own individuality and shouldn't be missed by any movie lover.

Wow! Had very high expectations from this film and it didn't turn out to be a disappointment. A film with a good story considering it to be a fantasy and a film which doesn't fail to excite you till the very end. Though the acting wasn't much and towards the end it was turning out to be a chick flick the story, the direction ,the suspense, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's chemistry and the cold-gray-wet backdrop throughout the whole film was too overwhelming to point out the minor defects. According to me if you compare it with Harry Potter it edges over it due to the fact that it has a whole lotta less fiction and fantasy. Overall if you are open to a little fantasy, a little romance and a whole lotta excitement you will enjoy it to the fullest else you will despise it the most!

What could be more Inspirin than dys

A touching story about a partially handicapped man named Karl is released from a mental hospital, several years after murdering his mother and another person in which Billy Bob Thorton does a good job both in acting and direction leaving a strong impression on your mind after it ends .

A very fun film with one of the best performances by jack black. A must see for young rock music lovers (like me) but it may not appeal to others. Lots of rock history , rock music, comedy and jack black makes this film you can enjoy to the fullest.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels steal the show!!!!

A truly magical film telling a lot about life and love in a desolate, dust-covered, palpably polluted future Earth. A touching film with many memorable moments of a deceptively simple, expansively romantic story. The film is really 'An Adventure Beyond the Ordinar-E'

A movie filled with fantasy which will seem kiddish at first but as it progresses you don't feel any such thing as you get totally engrossed in the world of fantasy. This is one of the best animated films which tells a lot about love , friendship and hardships in life at the end of which you just can't help smiling or feeling good. A beautiful film!

A nice movie which makes sometimes fills you with joy and sometimes flushes you with sadness. Overall a nice movie to watch.

A fun movie to watch. The story though unrealistic was quite interesting and had quite a lot to offer. Jim Carrey was at his best in this one and even if i wasn't his fan i would have still enjoyed his cranky quirky yet sensational acting. A movie filled with enjoyment throughout.

Another Clint Eastwood masterpiece. The film which i saw with one eye always at the subtitles really hits the chord of your heart like the 'Million Dollar Baby' towards the end. The story of the battle of Iwo Jima, between the United States and Japan, during World War II, as told from the perspective of two good friends serving in the Japanese forces was quite touching , penetrating beyond the war and conveying a lot about life. The film felt quite dull at first but its grip tightened as the story progressed. Even with 98% of the movie in Japanese you don't (at least i didn't) lose interest. A must watch.

Just an exhilarating film . The story follows a family determined to get their young daughter into the finals of a beauty pageant take a cross-country trip from Albuquerque to California in their Volkswagen bus and the tribulations they are put through. Having a light and not so serious note the film manages to make you fill you with elation and flush you with sadness all the while not failing to entertain you for even a moment. Overall a fun film with a wacky dance at the end that should be able to entertain all ages.

A surprisingly awesome film. The story revolves around a monster attack in New York as told from the point of view of a small group of people. The cinematography for me was unique as the entire film is seen through a cam corder as Hud documents the unsual and shocking events unravelling in Manhattan. Though the story is dragged a bit too much, the film entertained throughout with some scary and surprising moments. A great fiction .

Paradise Now is a very realistic film about the Israel-Palestine conflict which follows two friends Said and Khaled, who are recruited by an extremist group for a suicide bombing at Tel-Aviv as a revenge against the Israeli oppression. However something goes wrong and the attack is postponed giving the two friends some time to think over their action. At the beginning Said was a little hesitant while Khaled was very determined but at the end it became just the opposite with Said pulling the chord in a bus. The feelings of the two leading characters are carefully explained and brought to you very realistically by an outstanding performance of Ali Suliman and Kais Nashef. Though it becomes a little slow at the end, the situation of a suicide bomber during his last hours is beautifully shown. A must watch for all!!!

Nice !! The chemistry between Steve Carell and Juliette Binoche was great. A time well spent.

A tale told over four seasons, starting in autumn when Juno, a 16-year-old high-school junior in Minnesota, discovers she's pregnant after one event in a chair with her best friend, Bleeker.Juno decides to give birth and to place the child with an adoptive couple.She finds one in the PennySaver personals, contacts them, tells her dad and step-mother, and carries on with school. While the days roll by, the to-be father divorces his wife and bails out f the adoption. But the to-be mother(Jennifer Garner) doesn't and finally adopts the baby while Juno and Bleeker fall in love with each other.

A great fun to watch comedy movie depicting an increasing situation. Great performance by Ellen Page and it sometimes makes you feel happy and sometimes sad. A must watch!

Awsomely Hilarious!!! Jim Carrey a cop with a split personality has been given the task to escort a woman who finds herself being hunted down by her ex-boyfriend and her associates. Hank , the mischievous side of jim along with the soft and caring side of Jim now must protect themselves from the corrupted police and the bad guys wile along the the three foul mouthed yet genius black siblings of the white Jim do their own bit to help their daddy.

The split personality of Jim Carrey was brilliantly executed with jim producing great contrasting performances. Some scenes were hilarious while some were a little sluggish. The romance between Renee and Jim was very ordinary . A better script would have been a great helping.

A hilarious movie!!!!! Woody, a cool guy who doesn't care about studies and thrives on the fun side of life , and Nell , a studious sincere girl (nerd) aspiring for Yale, who are next door neighbours are exactly the opposite to each other due to which every meeting between them is a fight. One day while on a science trip they fell out infront of some ancient statue. The next morning to their horror they find that their souls are switched. Facing some of the obvious and awkward yet hilarious situations they try to figure things out and get on with life , searching for a way to mend the situation.. Even with souls switched they cant rest in peace and star getting each other into trouble. Woody ( with Nell's soul) breaks up with her girlfriend while Nell (with Woody's soul) dresses up in lurid clothes attracting all the boys for vendetta. Among all the confusion, they slowly start liking each other with Nell( with Woody's soul) teaching Woody ( with Nell's soul) how to play football for the big upcoming game. Eventually Woody ( with Nell's soul) wins the game for their team and Nell( with Woody's soul) gets into Yale university . At the end after some common prom drama they get together and start going out.

An interesting story that could have done with a little more realism . Though the performances were good sometimes the girl didnt act like a boy and vice versa. Overall a fun film to watch. And by the way both Kevin Zegers and Samarie Armstrong were looking fabulous.

Sensational , Superb , Mind blowing and all the other synonyms of these. A true masterpiece of a film portraying the biography of the freedom fighter and a world icon , Mohandas K. Gandhi a.k.a. Bapu. The films starts out with a scene where Bapu gets assassinated and then zooms back in the past to the train journey in south africa that changed it all. Bapu battling against some unjust racist laws in SA starts his life life as a reformer after being a victim of racism .. but only through non violence without laying a single hand on officials. From there on his journey to India, the Champaran Satyagraha , Non Co-peration Movement , Civil Disobedience Movement , Hindu Muslim fallout , his extreme fasting and ultimately his assassination all passes by like a dillusion created by Ben Kingsley's superb acting. Through out his struggle for the Independence of India he believed thet all the struglle is for a right cause and should be achieved by only right means. But after failing to stop the partitioniong of the country he is ultimately assassinated .





Great direction byRichard Attenborough and the the film is slow paced it never fails to lose its grip on the viewers. A total epic. A weel deserved 8 oscars.

A film that revolves around world of 'bongs' as in bengalis. It follows two young men as they search for personal goals in a country other than their own. Computer engineer Apu feels that Kolkata is a dying city and moves to the USA. Andy, a Bengali musician raised in New York, journeys to Kolkata hoping to inherit its rich language and culture and tries to make a shot there. Their respective stories run parallel, never merging yet colliding. Each encounters an elder as their mentor and each is intrigued by a local Indian woman. While Apu's life is wild with parties and police escapes Andy's life is tranquil with a local girl (played by Raima Sen) who co-incidentally happens to be Apu's girlfriend , along with problems relating their ancient mansion. Andy's uncle is a clerk and his son is jobless who comes home every night and beats his wife. Not being able to maintain the huge household after his fathers death , Andy's uncle decides to sell the house and live the rest of his life along with his family on the interest received on the money in a flat. But all of this requires a signature from Andy's dad but in his absence his uncle asks Andy to do honors for his dad. Andy being disgusted with the greed of his typical bengali family leaves with an answer that indirectly insults his uncle. His uncle being very egoistic falls out with him and a very audible quarrel ranges on with Andy refusing to sign the papers. Andy making a breakthrough has been offered to score for Mira Nair's international film The Namesake due to which he returs back

Apu on the other hand is sahring a room with his office colleague who happens to be gay. While on a taxi ride he meets a taxi driver who is a bangladeshi immigrant having no papers. They bond quite well together indulging in parties and what not. Meanwhile Apu meets a local bengali girl their , Rita, who is the daughter of his boss's friend and a sort of fling starts. Meanwhile Gary, Apu's boss who hates hates blacks and homosexuals finds out that Apu's room mate is gay and fires him which offends Apu making him to confront Gary and the end of while he ends up losing his job. But Apu finds a bengali, Rakesh, who offers him the job of a boss in Kolkata due to which he returns back to Kolkata.

The ending was a beauty. Raima Sen never gave her and Andy a chance though both were equally fond of each other and so "like a typical bengali" she refused Andy's " American goodbye kiss ". And so after he left she was alone weeping when suddenly Apu came surprised to see her at the airport thinking she came for her as he didnt tell anyone. It was quite comical.


On the whole the film was a marvel . Thw ways of bengalis are almost perfectly depicted and the two simultaneous to and fro story style was quite a relief from sometimes a sluggish progress. The direction I felt was personally great and on the whole I personally liked it very much.Plus Shayan Munshi's(Andy Sen) performance was quite commendable. You ought not miss this one.

First of all awesome cinematography and direction . A very very hard hitting film dealing with the gangwars in rio de janeiro brazil . The film is filled with violence, drug use and lots of shooting. Some of the scenes are really hard to watch. But its still has a huge impact and so one cant miss this!

Nice one but the story was a little shallow and after watching the dark knight you really dont miss this so much . Still it really has some good scenes and the beginning of the batman saga makes sense now. Not a bad movie to watch.

A typical Tarantino classic. German occupied France in World War II . The German high rankers along with their fuhrer attend a premiere of the film 'Nation's Pride' which showcases the bravery of a local German hero while a group of Jewish American Nazi slaying son of a guns infamously known to be the Basterds leaded by Aldoraine (Brad Pitt) execute their master plan to eliminate the Nazi power by blowing up the cinema. While the Basterds get in the theater disguised as the famous German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark's( played by Diane Kruger as a double agent) photographer and co., the dreadful detective Col. Hans Landa(Christoph Waltz) is hot on the Basterds tail. While this main plot unfolds another sub plot involving the theater owner , a jew,(Melanie Laurent) unfolds in which she plans to burn up the cinema killing all the germans to avenge the massacre of his family by Col. Hans Landa's men.

D Day. Col. Hans Landa finds out everything and he takes Bridget Von Hammersmark aside and kills her nd arrests Aldo Raine. The theater owner is successful in her attempt to burn down the cinema while the bombs brought by the basterds act as a catalyst to the fire. But wait before that happens Hans Landa got the opportunity to prevent it all but he wass too greedy and unexpectedly made a deal with the Americans and let the Nazi Empire fall.



A classic Tarantino film with the films split up into five chapters. The direction was totally Tarantino a.k.a. great. The sub plot increased the intensity and the cinematography was great . The characters i felt were well thought out each having its own importance and lending its own unique style to the picture. The twists and turns were great ... specially the last ending twist and as theres a dash of comedy thrown into it it makes the film even more likable . Lastly and the most importantly the performances of Brad Pitt and Christoph Waltz...... awesome. Brad Pitt delivered another great performance in the form of Aldo Raine who is a cool yet determined Nazi hunter who marks all the Germans he lets go of by carving the Swastika symbol in the mans forehead. And then comes Christoph Waltz the smooth talking multilingual devilish Jew Hunter whose countenance can lead any man astray. He delivers an probable Oscar winning performance with a whole lot of cynicism in his act.

The film does not fail to give you the thrills you need and is less gory as as compared to other Tarantino films . A must watch!

The chemistry between Ben Affleck and Joey Lauren Adams was the greatest thing about this film and with a different and crazy storyline .. i really liked this film.

A totally strange film yet very beautiful in its own right. The Jim Carrey-Kate Winslet duo made the film magical . Kate Winslet gave an oscar winning performance and Jim Carrey gave his most appreciable role ever as an actor. Really good film.

Inappropriate title to the film and a sad ending yet fun and magical with the teenage comedy and the increase in intensity ans seriousness

Another Clint Eastwood classic.. A little slow and a sad sad end but still a mustn't miss drama none the less. At this age Clint Eastwood still manages to give superb performance

Awesome movie with hilarious scenes yet strong with a moral it dispatches.. And yes some scenes were a little over the top but otherwise the film had everything... comedy , drama, twists, happiness , seriousness and of course the huge amount of feel good factor.. One of the best Hindi films i have ever seen!

Brilliant...... One of the best romantic comedies i have ever seen.. Joseph Gordon Levitt gave a superb performance and the direction was great..More over it wasn't the same monotonous type romantic comedies... its style is totally different and unique..

George Clooney works for a company which sends people to different companies around the US to fire people from work. His life is mostly consumed by flights and its almost his home. On a trip he meets up with Vera Farmiga's character and they start an adulterous affair. He also ends up working with a younger colleague (Anna Kendrick) who revolutionises the business by inventing a way of firing people through online. The story follows the three characters life around the pivotal character of Clooney and entertains you till the end.

Superb performance by Clooney and a decent support given by the two actresses coupled with the good screenplay makes this movie a must watch. George Clooney is enough reason to watch this film.

Maybe theres no solid storyline......... but this movie is full of thrills keeping you at the edge of your seat all the time. Awesome direction by Katheryn Bigelow. What a movie!
