Lost In Translation
This must be the greatest love story since Romeo & Juliet. It's subtle, it's understated and the casting inspired. Bill Murray is perfect as a disillusioned actor and I simply fell in love with Scarlett Johansson. Factor in some pretty glorious shots of Tokyo and we have an instant classic...

Batman Begins 2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
Batman Begins? No, Batman kicks some ass, that's what Batman does. Seriously, this is probably the greatest comic book adaptation I have ever seen and Cillian Murphy deserved an Oscar for his performance as the menacing "Scarecrow".

Byôsoku 5 senchimêtoru (5 Centimeters per Second) (A Chain of Short Stories about Their Distance)
I knew from the poster this movie would be beautiful and it does not disappoint. The characters are endearing, the melancholy romance is powerful and visually it is simply stunning. If only it lasted a little bit longer...
54
Death Proof 2007,  R)
Death Proof
A good movie elevated to greatness by Tarantino's trademark dialogue, some iconic scenes and a kick-ass soundtrack. If you have never seen a B-Movie then this is as good a place as any to start...
55
Hot Fuzz 2006,  R)
56
Persepolis 2007,  PG-13)
57
Ratatouille 2007,  G)
58
Reign Over Me 2007,  R)
Reign Over Me
What is it that makes comedy actors of a certain age go all serious on us and come up with a classic? First was Jim Carey with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, then Will Ferrell in Stranger than Fiction and now we have Adam Sandler in Reign Over Me. In all honesty, this is probably the best film I've seen all year and that's primarily down to Sandler's performance. At times it's heart-wrenching, others it's hilarious and I highly recommend this movie...

The Bourne Ultimatum 2007,  PG-13)
61
Gran Torino 2008,  R)
62
Kung Fu Panda 2008,  PG)
Kung Fu Panda
After all the mediocre crap Dreamworks Animation have been churning out recently I was beginning to think they'd peaked too soon with Shrek. However Kung Fu Panda is funny, touching and a real return to form for the studio. Let's just hope they can keep up the good work...

Slumdog Millionaire 2008,  R)
64
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)

The Wrestler
A great movie with a great cast and endearing characters. I did feel a little shortchanged by the ending but at least the movie kept me guessing.
