Aww jeez, I just love this film! I'm not normally a sucker for these testosterone fuelled 'Man movies and I'm not particularly keen on Russell Crowe, but his performance in this role was second to none! I for one cannot watch this film without bawling my eyes out, it really tugs at the ole heartstrings, and has all the action anyone could want. Colourful, Rich and exuberant, the film manages to flow across the screen, displaying as much gore as any decent horror movie, yet with a graceful elegance as yet unbeaten as far I am concerned. A beautiful story, full of beautiful people.
One of my favourites, not for the squeamish or faint of heart, Creep was well... just downright Creepy! I loved how it was set in the London Underground, and it had a very real gritty feel to it. the monster in the film, a genetically modified circus freak, was weird and brutally merciless, plenty of gore, thrills, spills and jumpy bits, it's one of those films i could watch again and again! yay!
total Horror Genre Revelation! The formula of this movie, so unlike any other before it, blew my mind! So hard to believe it was filmed on a shoestring budget in a matter of days! Genius!
Loved it, not least because it starred my childhood crush the 'Delectable' Devon Sawa, but again, an inovative concept of death stalking you, and not knowing where, or when it's coming back at you... Cr-eeee-py!
Well I don't normally toatally agree with trilogies, but i think this one hit the nail on the head! ok, it was a lil' cheesy round the edges, but the gore factor more than made up for that, and the movie on the whole was i think, as much of a thrill ride as the coaster that claimed so many young lives...
Less Devon & more gore, Hmm, hate to say it, but it totally works! Got more screams at the cinema and got my adrenaline pumping just that little bit faster...
Another classic Slash-fest, Thank you Mr Sean Cunningham! Is it just me, or, did none of the following movies quite hold a candle to the first? This was without a doubt the first film to whet my appetite for the Horror Genre, and will always have a special place in my heart...
Good, but never as good as no. 1 loved Jason's clumsy executions, and stroppy stomping rather than satlking though, a man after my own heart..? Probably.
Ok, getting silly now, the movies should have stopped here, but what the heck, they're always worth a mention, the Friday 13th franchise wouldn't be complete without it's token plotholes, screwups and shaky camera angles... I still love em!
Often imitated, though never equalled, the Halloween series, gave us every teen girls' worst nightmare... A merciless psycho stalker, in a creepy white mask (based on William Shatner...), who kills all in his path, and seemingly, never dies! yay!
More of Mr Michael Myers, The killer, obviously, not the comedian, although... Mike Myers standing at the backdoor at midnight in a William Shatner mask, with a knife would scare me S***less!
yay! finally a movie incorporating most of the stories i used to scare my school chums with on the playgrounds, well cast, funny at times, and pretty thought provoking... for a trashy teen slasher flick!
W.T.F? well this ade about as much sense as a fish with a bicycle... I mean the plot was there, but it was crap! The effects left me wanting, and to be honest, I could have made a better job on a handycam in my garage, but, it was part of a trilogy, so i bought it in the set, and it made it on my list.
Wahey! Who doesn't love a good zombie flick? and this? This is a GOOD zombie flick. The original was the bible and it paved the way for a whole new set of directors, producers, cast & crew to learn from George.A Romero's pioneering work in the creation of the ZOMBIES! gore a plenty, effects, both subtle, yet mind blowingly realistic, this was a total headrush from start to finish! Woo hoo!
Weird, cos, I love vampire movies, yet this really wasn't one until the end... and i must be the only woman in the world who doesn't swoon over the Cloon-meister, nope, George just don't do it for me! Still it was a good film; action packed and pretty suspense filled, yeah, i like it!
Swishy, romantic, gothic and with some pretty big stars in it, I liked this depite the fact that it sorta cut the book upon which it was based to ribbons, and it was too long. But i did like it, and i think, i always will, i'm just not sure why...
loved the book, and with Anne Rice herself on the producing bench, couldn't really go wrong, especially with Brad pitt & Tom Cruise on board! Yum! This was the first acting role also that i saw Kirsten Dunst in, and she remains one of my favorite actresses now. The decadent scenes of the ages through which Lestat, Louis & Claudia prowled, were delicately and i think accurately portrayed, which added the morose and soul weary feeling to the sad tale, exactly as it was meant to be.
Hard to be as drawn in by this one, as I was by the first. To start with, the rather lovely Stuart Townshend was cast as leading man: Lestat, no complaints as to his performance, but after seeing Tom Cruise in this 'role of roles,' I don't think it was the right thing to do, to cast somebody, who although lovely to look at, and an accomplished actor, bears absolutely no resemblence to Mr Cruise, and that for me instantly ruined the sequals' continuity. But! the soundtrack- incorporating The amazing host of rock & metal stars, Jonathan Davis, Marilyn Manson, Wayne X, Chester Bennington, & David Draiman, all contributing to a mega movie sountrack! Almost makes up for that. The effects were mediocre when compared to some, the story had not enough detail, so, i'm in limbo here; it has eyecandy, great sounds and vampires, but no real muscle...
Basically same format as above... Weird swarm of albino mind reading telekinetic children decide to take over the world, and do a pretty good job of it! eek!
My Mother still won't watch this film, but with today's standards having raised the bar, this one is now, sadly a bit dated. but it was a shocking eye opener of it's day, and still remains a cult favourite. The shocking imagery of a posessed young girl doing things with a crucifix which she ought not to be doing, and carrying off a 360 headspin, is still two of the most memorable movie moments in history.
Oh yes... Salem's Lot. I first viewed this by accident, aged 3 1/2, after creeping out of my bed to see what all the scremaing was about in lounge, what I saw through the crack in the door, haunted me forever... It indulgedmy passion for vampires, and actually convinced me that i was one. I was soon after, expelled from pre-school, for terrorising the other children with tales of undead blood drinkers, floating through their bedroom windows, to sap them of their lifes' blood, i was also guilty of biting them. Until i drew blood...Yup, This film still scares me, and I can't sleep comfortably if there is the the slightest gap in the curtains at night...
Ahh, the original, by far my favourite! Because it was filmed at the supposed time of the event, it encapsulated the the feel of the seventies, (my favourit era, although i just missed it!) The main character was soooo scared looking, and the bit wher her invalid brother gets 'chainsawed' in his wheelchair grossed me out! hurrah!
It was a better 'Horror' film, through gore and effect, but it had this real hoaxy feeling, and it felt too modern, I didnt feel like it wa the 70's, just kids in a 70's van, with a cool lens on the camera for that 'vintage feel'...
OMIGOD. this movie is soooo screwed up, i had to watch it back a few times, just to be sure I didn't dream it! but it is pretty intense and scary in places, yet with a less than subtble pinch of misplaced ironic humour...
Everyones knows freddy Krueger, and this was his premier as our new lastest killer fiend! His status as one of the biggest horror icons will never be taken away from him! but scary...? Well my little brother was very afraid... when he was like 8... thats 10yrs ago..
this was more like a super hero movie, but pon the up-side, it did introduce a very young Patricia Arquette, now a highly accomplished actress, and her movie magic in the making was evident here, i think...
duhh dum, duhh dum... I love this moovie! I love sharks anyway, and have from an early age, but , after watching this, (far younger than i should have...) i didn't even want to take a bath, let alone swim in the sea!! An effective film then, dontcha think?
pretty good, the half eaten orca was nice touch i thought, and there was more for the younger generation to rave about, with the teens boat culture/getting nailed by jaws himself... the ending lacked the drama of the first installment though...
Lets face it, it was a bit poo.. and it was supposed to be viewed in 3d, which didn't really make a difference to the overall film at all... nope, even with dennis Quaid in it, I wasn't that impressed....
it was ok, Mario Van Peebles gave us a comic element, and it did conclude rather well, with the Widow Brody mimicking her late Husband's cry of " Smile you son-of-a-bitch" Before blowing the shark to smithereens... gripping stuff!
Ok, so there may have been plotholes, but I did enjoy watching vengeful suped up, genetically modified Mako Sharks ripping up the human fodder, Perhaps i'm biased , I mean sharks are one of my faaavourite creatures on earth...x
woah, woah and woah.
This Movie rocks the socks off of you! full of all the elements that scare the pants of even the toughest of men, it was a visual nightmare from beginnig to end, and I loved it! i am so glad that horror is finally catching up to all of us blood thirsty horror fiends, and giving us something to scream about! The families' perilous situation, the carnage and anguish they experience, really leaves you feeling for them, which only proves to me that it is quite a piece of work! Also after the film had concluded, I was still feeling cold, hollow and a tad freaked out... Thats what we want to hear, so give this one a big thumbs up!
I wasn't expecting much, as the ratings for this were low, plus, Hannibal played by a frenchman? Well, I geared myself up for total disappointment and was VERY pleasantly suprised! Gaspard Ulliel played the Lecter Chararacter so well, it was almost easy to imagine him growing into the Anthony Hopkins - Lecter, we all know and love. The film was intense and grippin to the end, A thoroughly enjoyable and fast paced movie and a fitting addition to the series...
Yet another classic, The Silence of the Lambs. More of a thriller/suspense than a horror, although, the concepts are pretty darn horrendous, award winning performances from Sir Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, a tight, fast paced movie, just right to settle down with a bottle of chianti, and a nice place of liver & fava beans...Fsss fsss fsss fsss fssss....
The eagerly awaited sequel to Silence, this was distinctly lacking in the blend of dark decadence and tingling suspense of its predecessor, and it cast Julianne Moore in the role of Clarice! Now, I know , that she would have grown, changed etc, but i dont think she would have morphed into a totally different person, i hate it when sequels cast a different actor/actress to play the same character, it just doesn't feel right! And the film, just left me wanting.
More disappointment m'afraid, not really a movie worth giving up your saturday nite for... a bold attempt to make a faster, more horror orientated film, but, well, it just sort of flops. Sorry....
I lurve it, i lurve it! tim Burton is pure goth genius, possibly the lovechild of Elvira & Vincent Price...All his animations and movies are perfect for dismal rainy days and a faceful of chocs! hurrah!
A hilarious British Rom Zom Com, dry English humour mixed with a subtle blend of gore and violence and a cracking cast of amazing proportions, (Pretty much all the cast of Spaced) This film is fast paced, witty and exciting, a must for zombie fans everywhere! yay!
Took me a couple of sittings to watch this, as this sort of humour, simply makes me cringe, and I am not reeally a Ben Stiller fan, The cat nipple milking discussion scene... Eew!!! but, when I finally managed to see it to the end, i did have to lol at some points but the sequel....
Well this was a whole different kettle of fish! the combination of Barbara Streisand & Dustin Hoffman...? Perfect! found this second installment far funnier, more outrageous and easier to tak in, big thumbs up!
having always been fan of the Konami games, since the first ps1 release in 1999. So I had pretty low expectations for the film, but was more than pleasantly surpised by Christophe Gans dedication to the original game, and the effects in the film, camera angles were simulating the angles from the game too!hurrah!
Raved on about this when it first came out on video, I was sooo excited that Wes Craven was back to thrill, and at the time of it's release I was too young to go to the cinema, luckily, my Dad is a horror fan, so as soon as it was up for rental, we got in, broke out the popcorn and sat in the dark, waiting to be scared.... But it didn't happen. It was a bit too tongue in cheek for us, but it still has a place in my heart, I grew up with it, put my younger brother on to it and yes, I do own the DVD box set!
I went to the cinema on the advice of my friends to see this film, asnd was quite disappointed. The shaky camera angles made me nauseous, the lack of scary moments bored me to tears and the only thing that was worth the admission price at all, was the ending sequence. I'm not easily scared, and so i guess i'm a bit biased, but a few twigs, bumps in the night and teeth left outside my tent wouldn't faze me in the slightest, so the whole thing was totally unbelievable and i thought it sucked.
HURRAH! Clive Barker may be barking mad, but he sure does turn out a gooood horror flick! Pin head, the post goth iconic angel of death, gives us another baddie/hero, to celebrate, and the effects, whilst simple and inexpensive, were brlliant, gore you could actually see & feel, long before all the CGI and technical gadgetry, just good old fashioned gunk, by the bucketful!
For some absurd reason, directors of triologies or a series of horror films see fit to make the latter installments as bizarre and silly as possible, and this film is no exception, as daft as you like, I've seen scarier poodles than this movie... Sorry Clive.
Eerie! Love Jeff Goldblum, and he is quirky at the best of times, in this though he really excels himselfin this role, and looks truly terrifying as he morphs into a fly, yet provokes the sympathy of the viewer, as he meets his inevitable doom. Lesson here! don't screw with mother nature, or it with screw with you!
Well, wheres the horror? If you are going to put the word Horror in movie title, surely logic would insist there be some actual frightening oments? Well, I wasn't afraid, not once. Sorry.
Originally only wanted to see this film because Marilyn Manson contributed to the soundtrack, but in the end, it was a pretty ok movie, if a bit lighter than I thought it waould be, I like my films, dark, mysterious and SCARY! and this was just a bit tingly in places...
Enter a movie with Paris Hilton. and Quel Suprise! She actually keeps her kit on! Well, some anyway... and she wasn't a bad little actress at all... The film was actually quite good, a little thin in places, but overall, I liked it, i for one would hate to be paralyzed, skinned, coated in wax and left to rot in a wax museum....
Weird, wacky, gross & tacky and well, just typically Tom Green! The content of this movie surely just a shock tactic plain and simple.... pleasuring farm animals, beating wheelchair bound paralyzed peeps about the legs, outrageous language and total nonsense... obviously it was going to be a big hit! And I LMAO!
Oh c'mon, the content of this film, is in the title... Peter Jackson, you naughty boy! Glad you have started making bigger budget films now like LOTR and King Kong....
Another Peter Jackson original, if you don't get Aussie humour, stay the hell away from this one! its a gross mixture of blood, guts and total absurdity!
Loved it, not least because of the spingly spangly cast, but it was really rather well done, and one was totally rawn in to the story, although the way it was left, did kinda freak me a bit, and i had to reassure myself that it was part of a trilogy and there would be more, I just had to wait a whole year for it....
Yep, the next installment didn't dissappoint, picking up directly where it left off, the epic tale still had me spellbound and practically drooling for the third and final film...
i think this one may have been my favourite of the trilogy, all the action and the darkness creeping into Frodo, the near destruction of middle earth, just saved at the last moment, and peace being retsored to all... Aww.. I just love a happy ending, sniff. =)
Funny, insightful, and men in drag! hurrah! a winning combination! If you have ever wondered what Blade would look like in tights heels and skirt... Heres the film for you!
Probably my favourite amidst the transgender, cross dressing pseudo-gay films, Hedwig & the Angry inch, is beautifully presented, funny, catchy, cult musical wonderment and I love a man in make up, so it feeds my addiction nicely! If you like a good tune to sing along to, this is the film for you!
it's just a jump to the left... The sweet transvestite you love to hate, nobody can resist this piece of cinema history, anyone who is worth their salt has heard of this and been pursuaded at some point to partake in the timewarp... Tim Curry's makeup inspired my own drag/goth styling and I know every song off by heart! It just kicks butt! and there it is!
Another men in drag movie, good gay music, colourful aussie language and a paper thin plotline, though more than made up for with the beautiful costumes and lol moments combined with the lovely Guy Pearce in a thong!
The remake gave back what the original left us wanting, the storyline remains tight, screenplay almost identical, just the actors, and updated death scenes added that finishing touch to a film that has haunted so many.
oh yes, the dawning of a new era in Movies, George.A.Romero's Night of the living dead, opening with the graveyard scene and the haunting words "They're going to get you Barbara..." This film firmly established the Zombie as the ultimate favourite Horror Movie Monster...
loved it! Some of the scenes of carnage were truly inspired, featuring slaughtring techniques never seen before... Not for the faint of heart! The two younger members of the cast, playing the children in the main story line were brilliant, and lent a sense of realism to their characters. The effects were awesome, although, some of the geography of London was, well for lack of a better term, wrong. How they managed to get from Regents Park to Wembley Stadium in seemingly no time at all (on foot!) was baffling... but hey ho, every film has it's continuity issues, and overall it was a good sequel that has been left wide open for a 3rd installment! Hurrah! Rage on!
A slow starter, but full of gritty realism, another 'based on' true story, the last half hour/45 mins was well worth the wait. The victims of the film evoke sympathy from the viewer, and the gutwrenching scenes of sado-masochistic carnage, more than deliver the obligatory chills up and down the spine, not bad all for an Aussie movie! Proof that Hollywood doesn't hold all the magic as far as horror goes!
Brillian fun, complete with Sean Connery - Hurrah! the effects are a bit naff, (I shouldn't complain, my Father's Uncle was the stunt co-ordinator!!) The story was full of moral fibre though!
It was tres cool to have the opportunity to actually see Indiana back in action at the cinema, as I was too young to do so the first 3 times round, Most of the movie was flawlessly executed, apart from the heavy over useage of CGI, and sadly I was a little disappointed that it was essentially at the heart an alien flick somewhat like X.Files episode... But Harrison was awesome and I was pleasantly surprised with the performance from Shia La Beouf (spelling?) of Transformers fame, as Indie's Son! Plenty of the usual action and comedy C/O Indie's one liners.
low budget horror, but terrifying, because most people find going to the dentist unbearable when he's there to help out, but, when he goes totally mental and wants to rip your mouth apart, maim & kill you, now that is scary!
Amazing! the closest I really gt to being a sci-fi fan is the fac that I used to be addicted to the X files! (I was young and crazy...) But this film was a legend! Totally terrifying, the Aliens; a beautiful creation from the weird and wondrous world of H.R Giger (check his website for 'Alien' furniture!) And a frighteningly possible concept of damn near invincible, hostile creatures from space, well i nearly pooped in my panties! Theworld of fil would never be the same without this 'ahead of it's time' Sci-fi cum horror flick!
Another triumph! missing Ridley Scott's diretorial imput this time, but Cameron more than carries off yet another amazing film, the aliens now faster, smarter and in vast quantity, we watch our heroine Ripley running round saving everbodies ass for a second thrilling installment in what was to becoe a great quadrilogy!
Another film another director...but none of the hair raising intensity lost at all! Possibly my favourite of all the four movies, quick witted and just as terifyingas the firs two, this film sees our heroine sacrifice herself, to sae all mankind, only to be resurrected for another bloody film five years later and oh wha a suprise...people start dying!!!
Safely under the watchful eye of Jean-Pierre Jeunet, the 'Resurrection' of everyone's favourite heroine oes ahead I was more than a tad dubious about this film at the time of it's release, having seen Ripley die in no.3, however I think the whole thing was done more than tastefully, and in keeping with the distinctive format of the earlier installments. Really, was there anything to moan aboutwith these films?
Crappy spider effects aside, this film was frightening, and I am not afraid of spiders, though even now, I think twice befoe simly jamming my foot into my shoe, without checking for giant uber poisonous arachnids...
i thouht this was pretty darn good, but in an unsettling way, not a scary way, although i have friends who are terrified by it, and a step mum who won't even watch it!
I liked Naomi's performance so much more in the sequel, the character seemed to have much more to her this time round, which made it all so much more believable...well sort of...
Gosh... how long was this film?! Originally I was drawn in by two main factors, my interest in the actual case (having read up it) and Yep you guessed it, the divine Jake Gyllenhaal! The film gets off to a good start, though begins to dwindle somewhat about halfway through...and by the end I was totally exhausted! The end was a bit of an anticlimax, but I enjoyed it nontheless...
yes I now there will be ome die hard fans of the evil dead series that willwant to garott me for this, but this movie really didi suck bg hairy balls. I mean it was truly laughble, which is the only thing going for it! Please don't beat me!
This is the only film whereby the sequel surpasses the original. Its's the kind of film you could flick between, whilst trying to watch an important political party broadcast, finding that more exciting than the film! Disappointing.
Ok and here is where the poopoo hit the proverbial fan... This film was about as exciting as a shoelace. But I'm not entirely sure why... I mean there were aliens, the predator, plenty of human fodder to be wasted... yet, I wasn't really interested. There was something distinctly see thru about the whole thing and there was no real climax ending, it just sort of fizzled out... Never mind, Freddy vs Jason was crap too, lesson learned; no more spin off 'VS' films!
Well, I do't know about anyone else, but I was fairly partial to this film, I've seen and heard alot of flack about it, I just thought It was a bit more interestig than ure useal horror gumph, although the ending sure could have used some beefing up!
For some unknown reason, I did like this film, a clearly low budget, almost z-movie that not that many people have even heard of, But, it's twisted concept and general simplicity, combined with a quasi-sado theme, I did like this and was left with shallow sort of haunted feeling... Sadly, the sequels were rubbish...
A good idea, just unconvincingly laid out... there as a little more depth in the third installment of the Cube trilogy, but it wasn't played out particularly convincngly, so failed to keep my attention for alot of the film...
Classic! ...'Here's Johnny!' Jack Nicholson at his very weirdest! and the creepy son with his wiggly finger 'Redrum, Redrum'... indeed! Still makes for very scary stuff, and love the elevator full of blood! Gotta get me one of those!
Very scary and an emotional movie, you are left rooting for the long suffering heroine in the midst of all the madness and carnage... Bloody good film!
Not a massive Halle Berry fan, but this film did leave me with goosebumps, a well thought out twisting, turning plot, enough gore & excitement to sate my bloodlust, for a while anyway...
Not exactly what I was expecting, but that is ok I was at least surprised, but not afraid... I was at least excited that two of my faveourite and lusted over actors were there; (Adrien Brody & briefly, Michael Pitt) So at least I had some eyecandy to distract me away from a film that must have looked great on paper, but when played on the big screen, just sort of fell apart.. Still, the ending was unexpected, So kudos there mr Shyamalan!
Chilling Horror turned thriller. Brad Pitt is the new detective in town and is immediately thrown into a tough case where people are being murdered according to the seven deadly sins... chillingly, the case turns personal, when spouses become entangled in the killers evil plot, addding an emotional element to an already grizzly scene.
Well, unlike the afore mentioned Silent Hill, which was amazing, This film, that came out a few years before, didn't exactly hit the nail on the head, it was a bit of a slapdash mixture of the first, second and 3rd games combined, so I was quite disappointed.
extremely corny 80's horror! Killer slugs on the loose, great cheap thrills entertinment! Not really for the hard core horror fans, but hey it could be worse!
black comedy/horror simila to slugs, but with the perks of up to date technology and slighty less cheesy acting, bit of laugh, quite gross at times. I liked it, I only wish I had waited for the DVD instead of buyng an expesive cinema ticket!
I have always considered myself to be a pretty hardcore Horror fan, but... Last night I actually got round to watching Hostel. and the first word that comes to mind is... Evil or maybe Vile... or perhaps we could introduce a new word to the dictionary... EVILE?! I had beeen forewarned as to the quantity of gratuitous and frankly pointless nudity, so was able to overlook it, just. But when the actual torture began, the sickeningly realistic scenes were just about all I could take, this wasn't horror, where was the thrill? the suspense? All it had was the usual senseless violence, concocted by the sick mind, of a director in whose work I have never found particular joy or entertainment value. i was left all but disgusted and realised that this film, was the first to not only overstep the line, but piss all over it! The only redeeming factor was the ending, the last 15 minutes had more of the cat-and-mouse characteristic of your typical horror film, and I was left rooting for the last survivor. But as the film finished, I felt miserable and bitterly disappointed, the film that had received sooo much hype and so many ratings, was nothing more than an eyewatering, stomach turning, pointless blood bath, designed to make your skin crawl, well - thanks a bunch Tarantino/Eli Roth, mine has crawled away! YUCK!
I liked the all star cast and the grimy set, there was gore-a-plenty, and eerie jump out of your seat moments galore, definately one to watch with your mates...
I enjoyed this film far more than Rob Zombie's 'House of 1000 Corpses' it was fairly fast paced, the killers actually got their just desserts and the soundtrack was amazing! Plenty of gore for all the blood thirsty peeps out there, black, ironic humour with the trademark sick and twisted theme so well set up by Mr Zombie... Thumbs up!
Not as good as I thought it was gonna be, but then, it was the 80's... bad hair, bad shirts and bad attitude, kickin' soundtrack tho.. and fun 2 watch...
A classic comicbook hero movie and featuring a legend in his own right as the starring role, dark, morbid and deeply tragic, a movie every goth HAS to have!
very funny - dark comedy starring David Schwimmer & Simon Pegg! Unusual to hear 'Peggy' with an American accent... but a good movie, well worth a look!
More madcap hilarity from the warped Mind of Edgar Wright- reuniting the dynamic duo - Simon Pegg & Nick Frost for a new kind of cop movie.... Hot Fuzz is packed with action, gore and laughs a million! definately one to watch!
Not bad, although having not seen the 2nd film, cant really say it made as much sense as it could've done! Still love Jack Sparrow, especially the scene in Davy Jones' locker, wher he is hallucinating that there are hundreds of him running abot talking to one another!
The sexy wonky nosed Wilson and the bizarrely attractive Vince Vaughn take on the world of weddings with crazy 'You couldn't make this s*** up' consequences! Thouroughly enjoyable!
Angelina in her most beautiful, triumphant, yet tragically fragile role to date, Based on the true story of 80's fashion icon Gia, who lived the excesses of fame, succumbed to drug addiction and finally met her untimely demise as the 1st recorded white female to die of aids.
Supposed to be a flick to help relaunch Winona Ryders' career - Angie stole the show with her superb performance as a committed sociopath bringing an edge to what would have been an otherwise mediocre movie.
Another Angelina delight! Gripping thriller starring Angelina Jolie opposite Ethan Hawke in a whodunnit, dark mystery, with plenty of twist & turns, enough to keep you on the edge of your seat - Also check out the surprise ending!
it was weird... but I liked it...
interesting theory, perhaps not as outlandish as first it seems.. Plus it does have the rather lovely (a a much younger )Jake Gyllenhaal, so that is a fantabulous bonus!
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie, although was a tad pissed off, cos I was working on writing my 1st big full length novel at the time I saw it, and the the plotlines were very similar!! Grr!
Saw this only the other day (10/07/07) had been putting it off forever, cos I don't normally like war type movies, but this one was different, and I liked the dark edgy feel and yet more Jakey baby!
Not bad really, was fairly well entertained for a ghosty film, normally i'm more of a slasher/gore fan, but have found I am branching out more & more and this film took me by surprise, I was sucked in and hooked from beginning to end - which considereing i have the attention span of your average goldfish, is very good for me!
A humourous take on creepy movie, starring the oh so delectable Depp as a scatterbrained detective and the rather dashing - if fairly scary Christopher Walken as the headless horseman - highly enjoyable, dark, easy on the brain and fun!
A riot from start to finish! To really get into it, it is best to have read the book first, but it's not essential and this movie is one long acid trip from start to finish... polished up with an amazing soundtrack and awesome performances from both the almost unrecognizable Johnny Depp & Benicio Del Torro! one to watch wenever u feel like u have made a drunken tit of yourself - Guaranteed to make you feel better!
After seeing this one I was convinced i wanted to be a meterologist and run all over the USA storm chasing.... O f course, that didn't happen, heck, I've never even been to America, but I will one day... and I will be watching the skies...
Well, having watched the original series...sometime waay back in the late 80's, I must say I was actually fairly disappointed with this film. After all the Hype, I found it, well, less than epic. The most exciting thing for me was John Mcavoy, being cast as Mr Tumnus! Phwoar!!
Yay! gay cowboys! Lurvin' it! two hot manly guys grappling and sweating... Mmm definate appeal 4 me, but then I'm weird like that! and... Yep! more of Mr Gyllenhaal!! yummy! x
Not bad at all for a low budget horror flick quite jumpy, if a little sparse of plot - basically ripping off the 'historical' legend of Erzebet Bathory - (see Vampiric folklore) and Playstation, to create a 'new' breed of movie, best thing in this? Frankie Muniz lends his talent to the otherwise unkown cast...
