Monsters
R
A methodically paced sci-fi/drama/kind of horror film with some gorgeous moments. The Monsters of the film are really more of a background setting and that's fine, they along with some stellar visuals mark the best moments of the film. Dragging things down is the two leads, they don't have much chemistry and honestly aren't really great actors. If your looking for outright action or horror this film is not for you, however if you want a film with grand ambitions and a moody atmosphere I'd say give it a shot.
The Social Network
PG-13
The Social Network is a fascinating film not only for it's content but for how it was told. The Story is told in flashbacks and legal meetings which is initially a little rough in figuring out where you are and who is asking what questions but eventually it all comes together and makes an interesting way to tell a story. The only issue I had is that Fincher insists on shooting it dark and edgy like a thriller which occasionally made me feel a bit of a disconnect with the interesting but more mundane story being told.

Moving film about the role fantasy plays in world of darkness. Sad yet also uplifting, Guillermo Del Toro has created a masterpiece.
