A little jewel form Tim Burton. The scenery is magnificent and it's well interpreted. When you mix johnny Deep and Tim Burton, it's always a winning situation!
This is a must see, though not always easy to watch. Violence remains the basis of this plot, but it's an inspirering journey towards enlightment, and common sense. This is the knid of move that leaves you speachless at the end...

Simply a masterpiece! Very intense, in this cold beauty, magnificent scenery, and some incredible savageness. Depardieu is good in this role, but Maria Bonnevie takes all the place, and she's stunning in this role.
Brilliant! Very powerfull. I was too young to remember what happened back then in Uganda, so this movie was as informational as historical. Of course, it is fictionized, yet the atrocities and violence was very real, such as the horrible fate of Kay. This is a must see, so that we remember the horrors of the past.
Cate Blanchet is indubitably awesome in this role, just as in the previous movie Elizabeth. But it seems that this time, the movie is more about her longing to be loved than war, though there are some magnificent scenes of the naval battle. I was more impressed by the first one...
