Yeah, I'm such a chick. This is one of my favourite movies, but then again, if you check out my Favourites List, you would see that there are many others to drown it out. I will even bend to admit Pretty Woman and Grease as also being part of my "fav chick flix." So, what can I say about this movie? Well, most people have seen it, which means you already know. Then why do I like this film? The music is wonderful. I love the time period -- that whole summer retreat era. I don't find Patrick Swayze attractive, but in this film...WOW! They wrote his character very well. It makes me swoon, plus... he can DANCE! My favourite scenes are the ones with "The Dance People" getting "dirty." They dance with soul and passion. It wells me up with emotion feeling them move. I didn't care for Jennifer Gray. I know Swayze didn't either, which is cool, because it didn't even show. The funniest scene is when the sister is practicing for the end of summer show on stage. I love to sing along with that! ^_^ And the most romantic line, "No one puts baby in the corner." Yeah, you know it. You love it. I confess, I do, too. You'll just never get me to admit my fondness of the Spice Girls' kitchiness. Ooops. Guess that's a bust. There are very few movies that I can watch over and over, but this one is definitely on that short list. |
