One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
"The best Comedy-Drama of all times" and where you fall for every goddamn lunatic you see on-screen except for one: The Nurse, and you know why? cause "SHE AIN'T HONEST".

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
THIS MOVIE ALMOST TURNED ME INTO A GEEK, THAT IS IF I'M NOT.
6
Planet of the Apes 1968,  G)
Planet of the Apes
Planet of the Apes deals with God (or his non-existence), the universe, mankind and his self-destructive human behavior. It asks the question: What is the roll or purpose of men in the hole universe? There is a very cool monologue at the beginning and a very cool dialogue a the end that leads to the final twist scene, these are the two key scenes of the movie! but hey! everything in the middle is pure excitement; this final conversation is between an ape and a man, the main character (Charlton Heston) in which the ape so happens to know the horrific true about men than the man himself, this is when the coin is flipped over: who is really wrong?! whose behavior is morally more correct?! the humans' or the apes'? Do mankind deserve to be an ape's pet? the answer lies in the final scene. This movie is a wild ride from start to finish. A movie that you have to see before you die. Highly recommended.

Casablanca 1942,  PG)
Casablanca
My God, what is it about this film!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
8
Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb 1964,  PG)
Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
Peter Sellers is "Dr. Strangelove". I mean he is this movie, he makes it worth watching. Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving any less credit to Kubrick, he is the mastermind behind all this. Only Stanley could make this picture: a comedy with a very serious topic that even today is controversial. This movie back in those times was intended to be a serious one but only Kubrick saw the comedy in it shocking everyone back and today.
A satirical comedic thriller about war madness, the "doomsday machine", and the faith of the world depending on a 25cents coin (Ha Ha Ha! I'm laughing while writing this), with great cartoonish performances by (hahaha) Peter Sellers, George C. Scott and Sterling Hayden.
"You can't fight here, this is the war room!" and "bodily fluids" are some of the word you wont forget after you see this movie.
9
Amadeus 1984,  PG)
Amadeus
"Amadeus really ROCKED ME in this movie"

HaHa, no, seriously: a BIG applause to Mozart and Milos Forman for this masterpiece.
10
Raging Bull 1980,  R)
Raging Bull
"Cinema at the top of its form"

A story about the raise and fall of a talent.
It's about Jake LaMotta's inner monster: a Raging Bull that drove him to success and subsequently to failure. Based on true events, so life proves us that every Force, every Energy, needs to be canalized in order to take advantage of it and in this case: LaMotta failed.

Robert DeNiro is on FIRE in this movie, his performance is another statement of Method-Acting, and of course: we all know Scorsese.
11
The Exorcist 1973,  R)
The Exorcist
"Still very scary" ...and the quality is superb

Citizen Kane 1941,  PG)
Citizen Kane
"CK is considerate the best movie of all time" ...and I can see why.
16
The Graduate 1967,  PG)
The Graduate
You will have fun watching this movie in every aspect: good simple story, funny dialogues, good songs, beautiful chicks and Dustin Hoffman is very hilarious, he's really fun to watch.
I just like watching K. Ross and D. Hoffman falling in love in a very realistic way, their love is based on looks and good companion, that for me is the way it goes, and the last scene where you see their faces explains everything.
The more times you see this movie, the more you like it.
17
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind 2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Kaufman in my opinion is the best screenplay writer of our time, I like how he mixes realism with fantasy with a comedic point of view. The movie is tricky because the story has to many spins, to many ups and downs that dares you to figure it out not in a Memento way but in a way that you just want to know where the story is headed. Its about the inevitable: no matter what we do, we always get what we deserve. Its sentimental, deep, smart, seriously funny: it wont make you laugh but it would make you smile. I describe this movie as a love thriller, the best Kaufman screenplay in a Gondry take. A must see!
18
Fargo 1996,  R)

Amores Perros 2000,  R)
Amores Perros
23
Dawn of the Dead 1978,  R)
Dawn of the Dead
"A standard for GORE"

A realistic take on fantasy: WHAT WOULD HAPPEN if Zombies exist. Romero's finest!
24
City Lights 1931,  G)
City Lights
"...One of the best endings of cinema's history"

The hole theme of the movie is materialism, but at the end Charlie gives us what is the most cheapest yet most valuable thing a person can give: a Smile!
That ending is breathtaking, when you see The Tramp smiling, you can't help but drop a tear or two. Its the pay-off of the movie, the pay-off to The Tramp's sacrifice and strugles throughout the movie . If you haven't seen it: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?
25
The Circus 1928,  G)
The Circus
"...A Circus indeed"

very very funny.
26
Modern Times 1936,  G)
Modern Times
Chaplin once again: Money isn't everything in these modern times!
27
GoodFellas 1990,  R)
GoodFellas
"My most beloved and dearest Scorsese film"

He turned organized crime into a believable thing. I consider Scorsese the KING of camera movements, he made the handy-cam an art form, I mean how did he pulled the long-shot scene where Liotta and Bracco enter the restaurant by the back door? the orchestration is perfect and yet looked very natural, and the soundtrack?: not only he has good taste in music but he envisioned every song incorporated (like Tarantino), Martin just knew what he was doing!
28
Rosemary's Baby 1968,  R)
Rosemary's Baby
In this film Polanski uses his talent and manages to keep you aware of Satan's power, he makes you believe in him and that his methods are inescapable, is more of a suspense story, a psychological thriller, than a horror movie. When the movie was about to conclude I was just guessing "does the devil really exists (in this movie)? or is she (Mia Farrow) just going nuts, thinking that evil people are trying to turn his own unborn child into the anti-christ?" and the ending is just superb with its respective little twist.
I like this movie very much! and not gonna bother saying its tiny minor flaws.
