Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein PG
Hello Everybody: This movie was great on several levels. The performances were top notch in this last of the line monster movie for this was the last time that Universal's classic monsters were seen together in an all out brawl. By this point people no longer feared the "Universal monsters" like they did eighteen years before so this was kind of a last hoorah for them. It is interesting to note that though listed as a comedy the monsters actually played it straight and only Abbott and Costello were the comedy factor. This combination proved to be a hit for Universal. The story was seemless and the cast was well chosen. Dracula has himself and the "Frankenstein Monster" brought to the U.S. as dummies for a wax museum. Abbott and Costello are the bumbling fools that deliver the crates to the museum. There the Monsters escape and the museum's owner has the boys arrested for stealing the exhibits. out on bail (thanx to a mysterious woman who is actually an insurance investigator) the boys track down the monsters and the hilarity and excitement follow. I highly reccommend this movie to anyone who likes comedy, action, and "Monsters." I give it a full Five Screams on the "Creature Scale" Pleasant Nightmares!!! John (aka, the "Creature")
Tremors Tremors R
Hello: Tremors is one of those feel good movies that I always tell people to add to their "must see" list. This movie is very well done for a somewhat low budgeted flick and the story moves along smoothly and quickly, not bogging down at all. The small cast was very well chosen and all put on excellent performances. The chemistry between Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as the characters Val and Earl is just amazing. They could have easily turned out a whole series of buddy movies as the two bumbling modern day cowboys/handy men. And the monsters, straight out of a 1950's monster movie flick. Giant worms of unknown origin with a taste for anything that moves...Well hell, they got my vote. The script continuity in this movie is flawless, the directing top notch. "Tremors" is, well, the name of the town says it all...Perfection. Have a Great Day!!! John (aka, the "Creature")
