Die Hard 1988,  R)
Die Hard
It has taken me a while to actually write a review for this movie, because it is honestly so awesomely action packed I don't know where to start. Therefore all I will say is that this is definitely the greatest action movie ever made, and has been made a template for a lot of more modern action films as well. Being my favourite action film, and also my favourite film I would like to say this movie just kicks a lot of ass!

Pulp Fiction 1994,  R)
Pulp Fiction
Every now and then a movie comes along that is just amazing. This is one of those movies. With a perfect script, great acting, phenomenal directing, and a great plot. This movie has so much to offer, and one cannot digest all of it in just one sitting. Having watched this movie at least 15 times I think I am finally ready to write a good review.
This movie first off is Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece, and the greatest film to come out of the 90's. It is a shame that his other stuff after this has come to the same calibur (all i can say is thank god he sold the script for Natural Born Killers instead of this one).
This movie is one of those that you never forget, with great quotes (Royale with Cheese, Ezekiel 25:17, Zed's Dead, get medieval on yo ass!) great characters, and great moments (OD'in, dancin, gimpin).
My favourite part of this movie though is pace (surprisingly fast for a 2 1/2 hour movie) and the timeline. Switching from past to present to future and on the first viewing you're like "WTF just happenend". The pace of this movie is also perfect, a perfect example of tension and release drawing you in for a great climax and satisfying conclusion then toning it down so you can get your bearings once again .... and repeat.
Also something I like about this film (and all of Tarantino's films) is that Tarantino knows how to write a screenplay. The dialogue is perfect, crazy lines, a broad foray of topics and knowledge, and the constant mixing of Jules finer linguistics with Vic Vega's harsh colloquial style of orating is a masterpiece in it of itself.
Finally I want to say the choice of actors in phenomenal. I have never seen a movie where so many big name actors have such good chemistry with one another. Also it has some of my favs from Sam Jackson, Travolta, Willis, Ving Rhames, Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel, and the unforgettable Christopher Walken (in his best performance ever!).
So in conclusion everyone should see this film, and you have not lived until.

American Psycho
Everything about this film to me is perfect. From the directing to the cinematography to the outstanding acting by Christian Bale to the script and the supporting cast.

The constant dark atmosphere in this film is probably my favourite part. Going from horrific to outrageously funny at some parts is just one ways of the brilliance of the film. Also, the character development is flawless, getting inside Patrick Bateman's head allows the viewer to either sympathize or hate him.

Definitely the part that makes the movie though is Christian Bale. His presence is ominous and frightening to the viewer, but he tries so hard to present a normal image to his associates. Bale's characterization of Bateman is I think the reason this movie is so good, because I honestly could not think of anyone who would do as good a job.
