The Godfather
Absolutely outstanding film that I finally had the chance to watch. Everything in this movie is first-class. The directing by francis ford coppola, the screenplay, and wiht this movie, marlon brando and al pacino became two of my favorite actors. The acting by brando as vito corleone is magnificent, without a doubt one of the best personalizations in cinematic histroy. Al Pacino just keeps me surprising with every movie I watch, one of the best as well
2
Casablanca 1942,  PG)
Casablanca
a classical masterpiece remembered for all-time
3
The Silence of the Lambs 1991,  R)
The Silence of the Lambs
absolutely THE greatest thriller ever made in my opinion, with a great script, directing, and acting; there are not enough adjectives to describe outstanding performances by jodie foster and Sir Anthony Hopkins. that scene where clarice is telling her story of the "screaming of the lambs" and hopkins face was in a close up was amazing.
4
The Shawshank Redemption 1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
The acting is exceptional as well as morgan freeman's narration just breath-taking (as always). The storyline and script for this movie are incredible. The movie keeps you hooked until the end where they give a perfect resolution for the story; and manages to provide a variety of inspiring messages along the way. One of the finest stories (and films) of all time and one of my favorites.
5
Raging Bull 1980,  R)
Raging Bull
Martin Scorsese's best film without a doubt. He adds his touch to make this movie a classic. This film stands as one of the greatest boxing and sports films ever created along with Rocky. Robert Deniro in his best as well. The interpretation of Jake LaMotta is absollutely phenomenal. Joe Pesci is an actor that almost no one knows but man, hes good. The music throughout is also great and breathtaking. Should of won Oscars for Best Picture, Actor, Director and Supporting Actor
6
Schindler's List 1993,  R)

7
Titanic (in 3D) 2012,  PG-13)
Titanic (in 3D)
titanic is one of the best romantic-thrillers-dramamic, sad, moving movie you'll ever see. it is just a phenomenal movie. it makes you cry, laugh, get you in the edge of your seat, and everything else that only a great film can make you do. in addition to the great cinematography and phenomenal directing and writing by james cameron. and the song, also the best.
leonardo dicaprio and kate winslet are one of the best couples of cinema history in this movie, i was surprised when leo wasnt at least nominated for the oscars, they both should of won for best acting

**14 ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATIONS**

one of the best movies in the history of color cinema. i think that Titanic should be classified as a classic
8
American Beauty 1999,  R)
American Beauty
A truly memorable movie with one of the best scripts ever with a phenomenal mixture of drama and comedy, awesome directing, taking into consideration that it was sam mendes' first movie, outstanding acting by everyone esp. kevin spacey who did the performance of his life, unforgettable quotes, and one of my personal favorite scenes, "pass the asparagus" where lester declares to his family. i'm having trouble in understanding the rose petals, but ill get it

"Remember those posters that said, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life?" Well, that's true with every day except one: the day that you die."

"I'm not obsessing. I'm just curious."

"And that's the day I knew there was this entire life behind things, and... this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... and I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in."

"Lose it? I didn't lose it. It's not like, "Whoops! Where'd my job go?" I QUIT."

"I had always heard your entire life flashes in front of your eyes the second before you die. First of all, that one second isn't a second at all, it stretches on forever, like an ocean of time... I guess I could be pretty pissed of about what happened to me... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday."

"It's a great thing when you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself."

"I don't think that there's anything worse than being ordinary."

"I didn't mean to scare you. I just think you're interesting."

"Everything that's meant to happen does."
