1408 2007,  PG-13)
1408
Excellent movie, Intense, Scarry and Very Emotional. With a beautifuI cast and a promicing story from the novel with the same name written by THE Master of Horror, Stephen King, this chilling movie makes from itself a powerful mind-blowing.

John Cusack plays it geniously, with this one he made one of his best career's performance. From the beggining until that wonderful end, he proved his outstanding cinematic talent... Absolutely stunning.

They say you can't die in your dreams... is that true?

2
The Shawshank Redemption 1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
This movie excellently presents the life of the convicted prisoners from Shawshank State Penitentiary, some of them guilty and some, just like the case of our protagonist (Andy Dufresne), not guily.

The flawless performance made by those two phenomenal actors: Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins, completed by that wonderful story and the complexity of how the scenes were putted together, makes this magnificent masterpiece an wonderful flick and a Must-See.

I believe in two things: Discipline and the Bible. Put your trust in the Lord. Your ass belongs to me. Welcome to Shawshank.

3
Gladiator 2000,  R)
Gladiator
This movie was my favorite one like two years in a row. It was exciting, catchy, never knew what to expect from it, and the most importantly, it had Russel Crowe in the leading role. I think this is the movie with which Russel made his career trademark.

Gladiator is simply legendary, the arena fights, the story, the flawless playing and that great rivalry between Maximus and Commodus intensified more and more the action and made us to enjoy every second of it.

Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?

4
American History X 1998,  R)
American History X
In American History X is presented a great story of life completed by an outstanding performance made by Edward Norton. The other characters played their roles as expected even if not all the names over there were famous. But in the end they did nothing more than to shape Ed's character to be more catchy to the public and spectacular in the same time. Absolute fabulous movie and a powerful story too.

Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it.

5
The Pianist 2002,  R)
The Pianist
A Beauty! Adrien Brody will always have my sincerely respect for sustaining the whole movie. It wasn't a spectacular cast, but the message and the fact that was so well represented made it a success.

Honestly, I wasn't very sure to see this one, cuz I'm not right into war movies, but then I saw that it's inspired from a true story, and finally I changed my mind. It seems that I made the right choice, haven't I? Simply Amazing!

What is your name? Spielmann? That is a good name, for a pianist.

6
The Prestige 2006,  PG-13)
The Prestige
Wow. What a movie. Since I've read the plot I knew that this one should be good. Some great actors, with solid performances, a well-presented rivalry between two magnificent magicians, and the love story that triggered this one. What do you want more from it? Excellent!

With this one Christopher Nolan became one of my favourite directors. Wonderful movie, an absolute masterpiece.

The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.

7
Vanilla Sky 2001,  R)
Vanilla Sky
Absolutely Spectacular! No words to describe it.

Classic one :) Gotta love it. ^_^
9
The Dark Knight 2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
An outstanding movie. I love it.
Heath Ledger will be missed by all of us :( Outstanding actor.

R.I.P. Heath :(
10
The Invisible 2007,  PG-13)
The Invisible
At one certain time you'll find it very sad, and truly intriguing, but this is making it perfect. The story was absolutelly great, with an excellent power of message.

Some of you maybe didn't understood very well this movie, maybe it's not good enough for your tastes, or maybe something missed from it. But I tell you, there are few thrillers that can actually compete with this one at ... Everything. This movie really represents me, and that is why I'm loving it so much. :) Enjoy it!
11
Scarface 1983,  R)
Scarface
Maybe the best mob movie that ever appeared. It had action, that famous shooting met in every mafia flick, the story, the chick, and a glorious end. What do you want more from it? It was absolutely Perfect! Al Pacino made the role of his life. Excellent playing!

I'm Tony Montana! You f**k with me, you're f**kin' with the best!

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
This one last movie was absolutely great. Wonderful action, and full of suspence. This is my kind of movie. Soo so Great. ;x
14
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Better than the first one that's for sure, at least this one had a bit of a promising end :) I tell you, this sequel Tlotr is definitely one of my favourites. Entirely this movie serie achieved like 17 oscars :) and this is some kind of a record :) Wow.
15
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
I liked very much the story I even read the book and the movie was absolutely perfect. I'm a great fan of the Lord of the Rings, but I must admit that I wasn't expecting such end, everything so all of the sudden. :)
16
Black Beauty 1994,  G)
Black Beauty
I just love this movie. I'm nuts about this one since I was a kid. :)
17
The Illusionist 2006,  PG-13)
The Illusionist
The Enigmatic Eisenheim.
In this one I was surprised to see Edward Norton in another role like in the other movies he played so far. It was such a great performance that I couldn't avoided to put this one on my favourite movie list.
18
Casanova 2005,  R)
Casanova
He is my model in life. This movie really opened me out with some things. :-"
It was a great movie. Pitty that Lauren Cohan appeared only at the beggining and she didn't had a primary role. :(
19
Finding Neverland 2004,  PG)
Finding Neverland
A very touching story, inspired from the true story of James M. Barrie, the one that made possible the Peter Pan myth. It has high-class cast, a distinguished one, without which the movie could have remained just an ordinary Peter Pan flick. Even if they weren't involved in an On-Screen relationship, Kate and Johnny excellently fitted in that wonderful mystery world, surpassing any obstacle in being together, even if this one represented Emma or even Mary Barrie.

This amazing flick was full of woundrus fairytales, fabulous stories and also tried to bring us to Peter Pan's Neverland, experiencing how it's like to be a young boy again.
20
Minority Report 2002,  PG-13)
Minority Report
Wow. This movie was absolutely spectacular. I kinda had doubts about it, I'm not into action movies, I must admit, but in the end it did leave me speechless. Tom Cruise had an outstanding performance, as well completed with the little help received from that unique cast. I strongly recommend Minority Report, and you'll see what I mean.
21
Taken 2008,  PG-13)
Taken
Liam Neeson kicked ass. Great action movie. You should see this. ;)
22
Seven (Se7en) 1995,  R)
Seven (Se7en)
"The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." From my point of view, I find myself in the position to tend on Morgan Freeman's opinion: "I agree with the second part."

Outstanding movie, with an unique ending scene that you rarely find in a movie. Excellent!
23
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 2008,  PG-13)
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Absolutely genius. At this kind of movies you just can't get bored. Yes, it was long but it really worth it, and if I think it through, maybe this one truly deserved the Oscar. Love it ;x
24
Forrest Gump 1994,  PG-13)
Forrest Gump
An Extraordinary movie. Truly Emotional, Outstanding, Well-Achieved, presents the Simple story of one man that really can make a change. In one simple word: PERFECT!

The greatest performance of Tom Hanks indeed.
25
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 1975,  R)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Ohh wow. This was really something. I'm still stunned of this beautiful movie.

Firstly it deludes you with its plot, Then it makes you think twice wether to see it or not, because afterall, the cast is simply perfect, and Finally it impresses you with its story, acting and everything. Highly Recommended ;x
26
Hounddog 2007,  R)
Hounddog
Wow. Yeah, Wow. I haven't used this word next to a movie for a long time and I guess now it's the time. This movie was Absolutely Wonderful. Starting from the playing of that fabulous little girl Dakota Fanning right to that highly disputed story.

I tell you people, if you had read the declarations of Dakota and her family's as well, and obvious if you consider yourself a truly fan then you could have respected the girl's choice to play this movie and implicitly that contentious scene. I know, it's VERY hard to watch that particular scene, but I think it's time to move on, cuz even her parents declared that they took care of everything and decided to stop filming whenever the actress felt unconfortable about it.
27
Fight Club 1999,  R)
Fight Club
One of the examples of what a bad company may do to you. Absolutely outstanding performance by those two. Excellent actors ;)
28
American Psycho 2000,  R)
American Psycho
Christian Bale plays the role of an ordinary serial killer, a cruel, cold-blooded murderer looking for wealth supremacy. The movie was excellent with a great presentation of characters, with a soft and cool action, completed with an excellent ending.

If I think it through, no one could have ever done it like Bale, not even Leonardo Di Caprio or Edward Norton who were originally casted as Patrick Bateman. Bale was too perfect for this movie, and I thought I was a bit of narcissistic :)

I know there's a lot of you who saw this movie (I know, for me is second time) but I think you might like to check it again. It was so damn great.
29
The Number 23 2007,  R)
The Number 23
Definitely new role for JC and sth different from what he used us with :) Love it.
30
Avatar 2009,  PG-13)
Avatar
Exceptional 3D experience. It was like a dream come true and I was so excited that I didn't say a word for almost 3 hours until the movie ended. Everything was perfect. When I saw the first credit that appeared Written and Directed by James Cameron that was the moment when I said, here's my hero from all directors there are. I don't care what movies he made except Titanic and Avatar, with these two he reached my expectations. Now I can say that I have a favorite director.

Here's a howler to all Flixster people. Is it only me, or the base of Avatar was just like the one from The Last Samurai. With every minute that passed it was like I was following the steps from the flick The Last Samurai, and this made me to love it even more. Go see this movie 3D friends! ;)
31
Pride and Prejudice 2005,  PG)
Pride and Prejudice
An outstanding movie, with a great playing and excellent turn-ups. Even though the book was recommended to me from school, now I feel sorry that I didn't choose this novel for my reading. It has a fabulous story and some unique love stories. Definitely recommended! And if you think about it, then I will tell you: Pride and Prejudice it's NOT a chick flick! Enjoy ^_^

The Reader
An outstanding, exceptional, wonderful movie with a magnificent story and an unexpected performance made by Kate Winslet.

Some of the reviewers and critics found this movie a bit offensive (I tell you, it wasn't even a bit) but for me was aboslutely perfect, I wouldn't change anything about it.
37
Amélie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) 2001,  R)
Amélie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
There you go, we prooved that there could be simple movies as well which have great a catch to the public and in the end they are vindicated as masterpieces. From my point of view, I have only good thoughts about this one and even it's a simple french movie, it has some little details that are making it an amazing flick. Maybe the best non english I ever seen.

Extremely fascinating. If you ask me Russel Crowe can play ANY kind of role. He done it so damn perfect!
41
Memento 2000,  R)
Memento
I was really hoping that this movie would become one of my favorites, but with every event of the movie going backwards I started to be more and more confused. But I don't say that this is a bad thing at all. In any way, maybe this is making it so great, the fact that it really puts you to work, as if you should screw together all of those little puzzles. It was absolutely amazing, and I recommend it with love to all of you. The best psychological movie ever seen, and I mean it! ;)
42
Requiem for a Dream 2000,  R)
Requiem for a Dream
A-MAZING!

I am still in shock about what I saw in this beautiful movie. It's simply genius. The story was excellent and the presentation was absolutely remarkable.

Highly recommended! You'll be surprised.

Ring of the Nibelungs (Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King)(Sword of Xanten)
Eeexcellent movie. At one time was among my favourites. The story was great but nothing new or sth spectacular about it. :)
46
The Hurt Locker 2008,  R)
The Hurt Locker
A lot of big names but very small roles in this flick. I mean, I don't think this is a bad thing, because they managed to do a magnificent movie even with actors not so well-known like the others. But, I wanted to say that I'm sorry that they didn't had the chance to prove their cinematic talent in this movie too.

OveralI, I was surprised to see how the movie went through the action and made me wonder, even if it wasn't already finished, which of these two: Avatar or The Hurt Locker is better. I'm taking side of both. Now, the Academy will do the rest.

The Lion King 1994,  G)

Even if it was an animated movie, it had some emotional parts, especially those involving the death of Mustafa :o3 I felt sorry for him. But, afterall, it prooved to be an excellent movie. See it soon.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
The greatest Indy movie ever appeared!
50
Casablanca 1942,  PG)
Casablanca
Maybe the best Romantic movies of all time. If at the beggining you found this beautiful flick absolutely average, then with Isla's sudden appearance things start to go pretty tense, and you'll see that the real reason for which Casablanca is so praiseworthy is because of that excellent last 10 minutes when everything takes an unexpected turn. If you allow me, whole movie counts on that end that brings with it sorrow, a bit of mystery, and that gorgeous love for which you are willing to renounce at everything.
51
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End 2007,  PG-13)

54
Disturbia 2007,  PG-13)
Disturbia
Disturbia tends a bit more to Crime and Horror than Thriller how it's described. As when it comes to Mystery, this movie is full with tense scenes and some parts of it are simply keeping you on the edge of your seat.

After this movie I got used with David Morse in a negative role, permanently. Until now, I pictured him the good guy icon but now, he's only the tough guy, looking to satisfy his cruel intensions. I just love his roles, but the negative ones are making out of him an Expert at this kind of characters.

I Am Sam 2001,  PG-13)
I Am Sam
"All you need is love"...

Wow. This surely is a great movie, which had the unlucky chance to have some bad critics. If it's not Harvey Milk, than this is the best movie role of his career. Sean played simply perfect, close to perfection just like Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump.

If you haven't seen this movie than download it NOW. It worth it, I can assure you. You'll be surprised by its intencity and you'll see, even amused.
62
The English Patient 1996,  R)
The English Patient
Wow. This was absolutelly wonderful. This movie presents a mix of four intriguing stories, genuin combined, made to reveal a beautiful and still impossible love story for which had to be made lots of sacrifices. It was a touching story, a unique one, that thrilled every viewer and made him to feel the movie to its very end. Yes I know, it was long, but not long enough to even think of getting bored. This beautiful flick kept me there, waiting to discover more and more about that amazing love.

The playing was absolutely wonderful, yet again not a spectacular cast, excepting maybe Ralph Fiennes who made the role of his life. If I think it through, he could have played only half of the movie and for that poor patient to bring some other actor and to forgive Ralph of no more trouble. I mean, they changed him so much that I couldn't have guessed that he is actually playing the english patient or not. Even though some of you found it long, or even boring, I myself will gladly see this one again if I would have the chance. It really worths a try, believe me! ;x

67
Bruce Almighty 2003,  PG-13)
Bruce Almighty
Best comedy ever seen. 5 times even, and never get enough. There's no comedy I've seen that made me laugh like this one ^_^ Jim Carrey is the best. And if someone tries to copy him, and trust me there are, they just can't do it like him. :) Too Genius.
68
An Education 2009,  PG-13)
An Education
Wow. This surely was something new. Everything was simply perfect. Their performances were flawless and I'm starting to think that negative roles fit Alfred Molina the best. He played so well his part that he actually annoyed me, not only the character of Carrey Mulligan...

Speaking of Carrey Mulligan. Oh. She made all the movie. Everything centered on her character and we can see that she's no more the little playful Kitty from Pride and Prejudice. I tell you my friends, Carey Mulligan should have won the Golden Globe. I hope that at least The Academy to be fair with their Award. Go Carey!

Wow. I must admit it, I was wrong about it. This movie really deserves the Golden Globe, but I think they overreacted with the Oscars (8). @-)

Just Enjoy! ;)

76
Eyes Wide Shut 1999,  R)
Eyes Wide Shut
Ok. So, let's take the tagline of the movie: Cruise. Kidman. Kubrik The first two of them were absolutely stunning, maybe too perfect for this exceptional movie. They made a wonderful pair and we could have seen the chemistry there.

As for Kubrik, I'm not so thrilled about his part in this movie. He tried to make a romantic movie but he couldn't stand and brought something from his weirdness in it too. Personally, I think he ruined the good parts of the movie with that charade, and that he is an overrated director. :)
77
Pathology 2008,  R)
Pathology
This movie is a stunner. Milo plays he's role absolutely great, and what a role: A guy with a double personality, one involvinf the family life, with the relationship, and the other one involving his "friends" and his work as well :)

Anyway, Milo is the best and plays the role of a killer perfectly;) Every role he had, he made a great performance of it. Excellent!
