Dark City
Very clever sci-fi/mystery movie that totally messes with your head. Beautifully shot in a noir style with mind-bending special effects. I highly recommend.
3
American Splendor 2003,  R)
4
Almost Famous 2000,  R)
Almost Famous
Probably one of the few feel-good movies that I can watch; and I've seen it a good 10 times now, at least.
5
The Devil's Rejects 2005,  R)
The Devil's Rejects
Whatever faults House Of 1,000 Corpses had, Rob Zombie cleared them up with this gritty and violent horror/western/exploitation flick. A classic in my warped mind.
6
Suspiria 1977,  R)
Suspiria
This one maybe a little oblique for some tastes, but the film is beautiful and horrifying to look at and possesses the logic of a nightmare. A true classic.
7
The Masque of the Red Death 1989,  R)
8
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974,  R)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Perhaps the best horror film ever made. It works on every level; the grainy film stock, the photography, the clanging music, the creepy set design. It's a total masterpiece!
9
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story 2007,  R)
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
Hilarious movie that pokes fun at rock stars and the biopic genre. Definitely a must for music fans.
