Fresh
Great film from start to finish with great acting all over. Samuel Jackson plays a small part in this film but his character provides rationale for the strength and smarts in the lead character, the kid called Fresh. The final chess game between father and son at the close is priceless.

Bringing Out the Dead
I've seen this film so many times I've lost count. It has NYC grit. It has humor. It has Cage, Goodman, Arquette, Scorsese and others (all great performances). It has insomnia :-) The cinematography is oustanding. This is another great Scorsese film.

The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill
Excellent documentary/film especially the extras on the DVD. Must see for animal lovers especially those of the avian variety. Uplifting and realistic views of wild birds living in an urban area. It's a real life story but it reads like one that was very well written.

The Fountain
The visuals in the movie are fantastic - both in technical cinematography and design. The plot is fresh and has many facets. Great acting by Weisz and Jackman. To fully enjoy this film you should try to see it on a big screen but small screen viewing won't be bad. In the end this is a great love story.
