Perhaps the greatest sequel of all time, and a great movie in it's own right. The film of Irvin Kershner's career, simply for the fact he managed to top the seminal original. Great performances, great effects, and a great story that rockets seamlessly towards it's downbeat ending. A winner.
Even though you can't really play favourites with these movies, this one is the best I think. Full of great scenes, such as the thrilling beginning where Gandalf kicks the Balrog's ass, through to the saving of King Theodyn which IMO is the best scene in the WHOLE triogy. Terrific. I love these movies.
The best superhero movie since "Spider-Man", this refreshing re-boot is exactly what the franchise needed. It's got a great story which captures the imagination and engages the senses. Plus a great cast, most of them playing against type. Cracking bit of film-making all round. This IS the future of the Batman movies.
Not the best Bond movie, but I've got great memories of it, and I love all the 70's outer-space stuff. Hugely enjoyable, there is a lot worse Bond movies than this.
The greatest superhero movie ever made. Donner is a genius, and Reeve has to be the most perfect piece of casting in history. A masterpiece. No other superhero movie tops this.
Brilliant movie. Funny touching and thought provoking. For some reason, I really love movies with downbeat endings. Lovely stuff. I'm a huge fan of Terry Gilliam.
Fiendishly clever gangster movie from Bryan Singer, with a superb supporting performance from Kevin Spacey. IMO this is ten times better than anything Tarantino has ever, or will ever do.
Bryan Singer's surprisingly thought provoking super-hero movie, which has as much brains as it does action. Notable for Hugh Jackman's breakout performance.
