What can I say, this movie is brilliant, the musical it self had been going for years until this movie was made, I have been watching it since I was about 8 years old, and my mum finally bought me my own copy on video. John Travolta is a great dancer, he proved that in Saturday night Fever. The whole cast was just so right for their parts, they couldn't of picked anyone better to play any of the characters. Stockard Channing really brought Rizzo to life, and Olivia Newton-John, well everytime I see someone on the tv playing Sandy I always think they should be more like her. I saw it on stage, it was obviously amazing, dancing was terrific and the acting couldn't of been better, but I always seem to relate anything to do with Grease to the movie. It was released in 1978 and is still loved by so many around the world.
I adore this film. Everything about it is magical in a way (well! to me it is) James Cameron is a great director, and I think any actor or actress that can make millions of people cry just by watching a film is amazing. The special effects are breath taking, the costumes are fantastic. I first saw this film for the first time in the cinema when I lived in Cyprus, I remember feeling really upset that Jack and Rose would never be able to spend the rest of their lives together. The ending is very emotional, I still have a tear in my eye when I watch it now, and I know every line in the movie. I think there is just something about this movie, you have to see it, in a way it touches your heart. (hopefully not too corny for you)
I love this film, Its very funny, and the songs are so catchy. Whoever said old movies are boring is very wrong in deed. This is an ultimate classic, everyone at some point has sang this while walking in the rain, (and if you haven't your lying, lol) great cast, the scene with Donald O' Connor singing "Make em' Laugh" had me in stiches, that has to be my favourite song in the movie, apart from of course, "Good Morning" and "All I do is dream of you" by which is a solo by Debbie Reynolds and a few other woman, I had that song in my head for ages, the thing is I can't find that song on YouTube anywhere. If you love musicals, watch this.
My favourite black and white film. When you watch this film you can almost see the real Marilyn. Its funny, and to be honest when they were singing in parts I wanted to get up and dance to. I love the music in this, and the ending is classic. Just because its a black and white film DON'T PUT IT DOWN. Its a great film. Another classic Marilyn film, with great co stars Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis. (Apparently Tony Curtis found it very hard to work with Marilyn because she was so demanding)
Classic, the scene that made her even more famous than she already was. Actually did you know, this picture was one of the reasons Marilyn Monroe and Joe Dimaggio split up, he didn't like the fact that she was showing so much off.
If you were thinking of watching a Marilyn movie for the first time, I would recommend this one, its very funny. Its all about temptation. The wife and son are away on holiday, leaving him alone with the sexy new woman living upstairs. Weather you like it or not, this film made a difference, think about it, everytime you think about Marilyn Monroe you see her in this dress, even ornaments, bags, and pictures, she'll always be remembered for her role in The Seven year itch.
"Take my breath away" I love this film, the music is fab. Everyone knows the theme song, if you don't, where have you been. Another 80's classic, I think this movie basically made Tom Cruise, especially since it was before his other hit movie "Cocktail" This is a chick Flick, with a little action.
I love films like this, there great for when your feeling really ill, or feeling down. Your lying on the sofa with a big blanket and hot water bottle, I always say a good chick flick really helps.
An 80's classic. A wonderful cast. Its a great film about friendship, fear, and courage. When 4 boys find out about a dead body, they go on an adventure to find it, but another older gang want to find it before them and get all the credit and admiration. The boys face all sorts of problems on their way, and learn alot.
Its set in the 50's, but narrated by one of the boys when hes grown up. Its lovely to watch the closeness between the boys, they must of been such good friends while filmiing.
