My Favorite Movies

  CBeck10's Rating My Rating
1
As Good As It Gets 1997,  PG-13)
As Good As It Gets
Probably my favorite movie. Great story, direction, acting, and a great score. Helen Hunt is phenomenal and Jack is perfect. Kinnear is also spectacular. This movie is funny and serious at the same time. Movies like this are what film was made for.
2
Pan's Labyrinth 2006,  R)
Pan's Labyrinth
A gripping story that ends in a profoundly emotional way. Not the simple fantasy you might expect but something eternally greater. This movie is not only my 2nd favorite but one of the best films of all time.
3
Batman Begins 2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
By far the best superhero movie of all time because it is story driven. The Nolan brothers and Mr. Goyer made Batman real yet still made him unreal. I love this movie and could watch it all day every day.
4
Planes, Trains and Automobiles 1987,  R)
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
John Hughes at his finest. Funny and heartwarming. Reminds us of the little things and how important relationships are.

Fantastic Holiday fun. Combines 3 of my all-time favorites: John Hughes, Chris Columbus, and John Williams.
9
Jurassic Park 1993,  PG-13)
Jurassic Park
A spectacle in every sense of the word. Was extremely thrilling in theaters and is still epic today.
10
Tommy Boy 1995,  PG-13)
Tommy Boy
Farley at his best. Not sure why so many of the best die young. He was the best physical comedian of his generation and I like all of his movies for being very funny.
11
Dumb and Dumber 1997,  PG-13)
Dumb and Dumber
The performances are great and it is surprisingly witty. A movie that is just fun to watch.
12
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 1989,  PG-13)
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
For anyone with a big family, this movie is a must. It sums up the hectic holidays in a way that makes you appreciate them even more.
