This is one of the best and most amusing classic Disney films. It's well-written, well animated (the mannerisms of the characters and the characters/scenery in general are portrayed so well), and memorable - timeless. The music and humour are outstanding.
I can watch this film again and again. It is poignant yet beautiful; definitely on my all-time favourites list. Edward's character is extremely endearing. I like seeing Johnny and Winona together in this film.
Brad Pitt and Claire Forlani have such chemistry as Coffee Shop Guy/Joe and Susan. =) The script is so quotable. You'll be thinking about the soundtrack long after the movie's over. XD
This movie is beautiful. =) I didn't like the psychedelic scenes so much... They were too weird for me... I found them quite boring. Though the computer animation is laughable at times, this movie is very artistic. The singing and choreography are great. The cast sung all the songs I wanted to hear. =)
I was skeptical when I first heard that this movie was considered by critics to be the best sci-fi movie of the year, but it blew me away. The cast is amazing. It includes Adam Baldwin from Chuck, Summer Glau from The Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, good ol' Steve the Pirate from Dodgeball (yay), and Jewel Staite from Flash Forward. This movie is so wonderfully quotable. Some lines are so unexpected and just plain funny. The script slightly resembles something you'd see in a Buffy episode; perhaps that's Joss Whedon's directoral touch. Summer Glau kicks butt in this movie. No wonder she was casted as a terminator in this year's new TV series. This movie highlights belief and obedience, and is very balanced. The special effects are way better than I expected; they are amazingly good. I definitely recommend this movie. =) The music played during the end credits is awesome too.
This heartwarming film is ceaselessly entertaining. Willie is a great foil for Indy. Shorty is adorable. The editing and cinematography is quite crafty, especially shots when Indy and Willie or Indy and Shorty parallel each other. The amount of cultural insensitivity in this film is of concern.
I felt so good as I was watching this movie and was delighted at its conclusion. In it I found an abhorrent Kevin Zegers character, and my new favourite fictional character: a guy who likes sci-fi as much as I do.
This is the best movie I've seen in a long time. I was hooked from the minute I heard "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds as the opening credits were rolling. This movie reminded me that the people who picked on me in high school were real people too, with their own problems, and that they were good people deep down. Bender was my favourite character. I found him and the janitor the wisest characters in the movie in the sense that they they were both somewhat invisible at school and just watched everybody. I also found Bender and the janitor the most genuine characters in the movie. I'm appalled at how much of an abusive jerk the principal was. It's amazing that the kids in detention built a sense of camaraderie and wondered what would happen to their friendship when they had to leave like kids coming home from a retreat or camp . The cast, writing, and acting is great. The dancing is awesome, and I really like how the movie ends. =D
This documentary was well-made, captivating, and intriguing to me especially as I am a sociology major and recently had lessons on deviancy. This documentary is thorough, and shows both the redeeming and unflattering sides to metal. I've learned from this documentary that some metal bands do not necessarily believe what they say in the lyrics of their songs and that they aren't as badass as they look.
I admire skaters oh so very much. =) I especially like how an Asian-American female Zephyr skater was featured in this documentary. I also like the soundtrack. =D I watched this documentary as part of my unit on deviance in my Sociology 100 class. The Dogtown surfer/skater movement is definitely a genuine social movement. =)
This is one of the most touching movies I've ever seen. I certainly find it the best non-LOTR fantasy movie reminiscent of Ladyhawke. The story is original, delightful, and captivating. The music is exhilarating. The cast is superb. The pirates and ghost princes are especially funny. The scenery and the costumes are beautiful. This movie gave me chills and such a wonderful feeling of hope. Neil Gaiman is brilliant. =)
This is a touching, heartwarming, and heartbreaking film about socialisation. I like how it looks as if David and Dennis are flying through space as they drive in the car at night.
This movie's so wonderfully cute and funny. The story was very clever. It shows how university is stratified, makes references to how JFK was elected and Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and shows examples of social mobility. The soundtrack is good too. I usually despise Amanda Bynes and her roles but I like her character, Sydney, in this movie because I can relate to her. The Vortex guys are so endearing, especially when they roleplay fantasy video game characters and are very protective of Sydney. The couples in this movie are adorable. ^o^ I would rewatch this movie, especially when I need something to cheer me up. ^^;;
This movie was one of my favourites when I was growing up. It is still heartwarming as ever. The kids are so cute and funny. I find Connie and Guy an adorable couple. I also like how Guy wears a Canadiens jersey at the beginning of the film. This film would have five stars if not for the lack of whistles in the games, young Bombay's quitting peewee, and Bombay's unbelievable relationship with Charlie's Mom.
D2 is heartwarming and wonderfully humourous. It was one of the gems of my childhood. XD I used to wonder why some of the kids in the first movie didn't come back for the sequel. I really like the new kids and the many cameos in this film. Lack of authenticity causes this film to have a low rating. Team Iceland didn't have real Icelandic names. Where was Team Canada?
I could watch this movie again and again. It has one of the best fight scenes ever and is so very funny and cute. =) I enjoy seeing young Fred Savage from The Wonder Years play the grandson.
I was delighted with this film as soon as I saw that Hans Zimmer did the soundtrack. The cast is amazing and the story's pretty cute. It's pleasantly surprising to see Jack Black in a more serious role. Kate Winslet's character becomes inspirational. I could watch this film again and again.
This is the best movie I've seen in a while. I instantly liked this film just because it was from the sci-fi genre. The cast is wonderful. I am impressed by how they bear a resemblance to the characters from the original Star Trek series. The film is wonderfully suspenseful and at the same time a great feel-good movie. It appeals to loyal fans of the Star Trek franchise. The score is superb and includes nostalgic bits. There are some heartwarming and humourous moments in this film. JJ Abrams did a superb job.
Up is what I consider to be a perfect movie. It has a good soundtrack, script, and plot. There are many humourous and heartwarming moments. Russel is a perfect foil for Carl. Dug is very lovable. I could watch this movie again and again. I want to take the rest of my family to see it.
Reality Bites is a timeless cult classic still relevant to the plight some post-secondary students face after graduation. Lelaina's aspires to make the world a better place. She is aware of injustice and corporate evil after her college graduation, yet she lives in a society where corporations are inescapable. The young main characters are believable and easily likable. This film provides a great dose of 90s nostalgia. I'd give it a higher rating if I liked the ending.
This film is delightfully nostalgic, heartwarming, and humourous despite its cheesiness. The cast features a plethora of 90s teen stars. The soundtrack is impressive. Unfortunately this film enforces stereotypes and lacks realism.
This postmodern film was riveting once I got over seeing all the needles and blood samples. The three main characters are all hardworking "good" people who have post-conventional morals. Vincent, the protagonist, is determined to make his dream of going to space come true. His only sin is fraud in taking Jerome's identity. He's quite an inspirational and admirable character. Irene works as hard as she possibly can to go to space too. Her perceived genetic deficiencies keep her from going to space. She accepts Vincent for who he is. I guess she can't help but admire his determination. Jerome is a wonderfully selfless character. No matter how depressed, anxious, frightened, or hopeless Vincent becomes, Jerome doesn't allow him to give up.
This simple and sweet movie has great songs and will appeal to younger (child) audiences. Toby and the high school students are quite realistic characters if not too caricatured. There are some great cameos by Quest Crew and Charice Pempengco. I'm a big fan of the Chipmunks so I thoroughly enjoyed the film. I could watch it again and again.
This is a heartwarming romance with a haunting ending. The two young main characters who have great chemistry. The two main characters face struggles to which the audience can relate. It's intriguing how poor young Noah is more self-actualized than "Princess" Allie. Family Studies and Sociology show that in reality Noah and Allie would be an unideal match.
This well-written drama featured an absolutely gripping performance from Al Pacino. He certainly deserved the best actor Oscar for his role in this film. Chris O'Donnell was also cast in a very fitting role. The tango scene is one of my all-time favourites.
This is the most fantastic piece of art I've seen recently. It makes me think you really never know who's on the street. They could be fantastic people like Ryan was. I wonder if he was one of the people I saw outside Schwartz's.
Wanted is a spectacular film with a likable cast, an amazing soundtrack and plot, and great humour. Morgan Freeman, Konstantin Khabenskiy, Angelina Jolie, and James McAvoy's characters are especially impressive. His character draws a lot of sympathy. The early car chase scene and the ending scenes are my favourites. It's intriguing how the Fraternity has to maintain "balance in the Force" by killing whatever target "Fate" assigns to them in order to save lives. There are great moral questions brought up by this film. It's seemingly Star Wars in the city/an exciting story of benevolent assassins. The train scene is very Vergere/Traitor by Matthew Stover. I am looking forward to the sequel. Is the Fraternity still of concern if the manipulative boss has been eliminated?
This was a nearly perfect sequel(/prequel depending on whether you're looking at the series chronologically). I really enjoyed Mia's storyline. It's worth rewatching.
