My Rating
1
One of my favorite movies.
2
Another excellent movie. Kathy Bates is unbelievably believable as Dolores. Story reminds us all not to assume that we know the truth.
3
I love this movie. So many 'moving' scenes. Can't help but cry every time I see 'Shug' and her father reunite. A beautiful movie.
4
I often like to watch very sad movies and this certainly qualitfies as sad. Beautifully acted.
5
Just a good old fashioned comedy. Lots of laughs. Especially like the scene of the huge trailer being backed into a relatives driveway.
6
A very funny movie especially for those who appreciate 'dry' SCTV type of humour.
7
I never looked at birds the same way after watching 'The Birds'. A fun movie to watch. Although somewhat disturbing in parts.
8
Not sure I'd love this movie quite as much if it wasn't for the great car chase. The car chase scene is considered by many to be the best ever filmed.
9
Bette Davis as her best - I think.
10
A non-stop action thriller. A scary look at what can happen if our right to privacy is taken away.
11
An excellent movie about a time many of us would rather forget. [But should never forget]
12
A wonderful movie. Lots of great moments. Quite suspenseful.
13
If you like the idea of watching a Dodge Challenger go fast - this is the movie for you. [And for me too!!]
14
One of those movies that makes no sense at all as an edited for TV version. Worth watching on DVD - that's for sure.
15
One of my favourite movies.
16
I enjoyed 'The Green Mile' a lot more the second time I watched it. Funny how that happpens. Now it's one of my favourites.
17
No doubt - quite daring for it's day. The Spencer Tracy speech near the end of the movie is worth 4 stars alone.
18
A great movie.
19
A non-stop action thriller. Exciting train wreck scene.
20
A great movie. Many of us can relate to Liza's character. [I know I can] She feels so horribly awkward and out of step with the rest of the world and often responds to those feelings by belittling those around her who trigger those feelings of not fitting in. So very human.
21
An excellent movie. Louise Fletcher deserved her Oscar.
22
Duel
1972, PG)
A great midnight movie. It's probably the main reason I prefer to own a powerful car!!
23
Quite interesting - if not a bit unbelievable. Still worth watching though.
24
It's good and worth watching - just a bit long.
25
My second favourite Airport movie. [After'Airport '77'] Fun to watch how capable the Concorde was.
26
The worst of the Airport movies. Still worth watching.
27
The best of the Airport movies.
28
A great movie. Lots of old time stars.
29
The original and [by far] the best. It allowed the viewers to care about those trying to get out. [Unlike that horrible remake staring Kurt Russell]
30
A good movie. Based on a real person.
31
A great movie. Sad - in parts. If society allowed men to be more emotionally intimate with each other - there might be less need [for some] to become physically intimate.
32
A very good movie. Although 'who dunnit' wasn't as big a surprise as it might have been.
33
Worth watching. Quite suspenseful.
34
A great movie if you like to see cars go fast. [As I do!!]
35
A very good movie. Some truly funny scenes.
36
A very nice movie. Great acting by Tandy and Freeman.
37
A difficult movie to watch - but worth it. A lesson to all that hate is an ugly thing.
38
One of my favourite Clint Eastwood movies.
39
Not your typical Jack Nicholson movie. Worth watching - that's for sure.
40
A great movie. Almost always enjoy any film Morgan Freeman is in. Unlike many movies made these days [especially] 'Deep Impact' does not rely solely on special effects.
41
I liked this movie - but for some reason I found it somewhat annoying. It does keep moving though so you shouldn't get bored.
42
A great movie. Special edition DVD shows alternative ending.
43
A funny movie that's fun to watch. Almost cartoon-like in 'feel'.
44
"You can't handle the truth!!" A great movie. Of course - Tom Cruise is almost a little too 'cool' - but I suppose that's what most people expect of Tom. [At least they did at one time]
45
A very good movie. Somewhat surprising turn of events. [If you've seen it you'll probably know what I mean]
46
A truly great movie. Very 'moving' and VERY funny in parts. Doesn't go over the top [although it sometimes gets very close to doing so] and remains surprisingly believable.
47
I enjoyed this movie. I really like Jody Foster.
48
A good movie. Quite an effective bathtub scene.
49
Still can't believe I bought the 'Caligula' DVD at an ordinary DVD store. Must have been ordered by mistake!! lol An interesting story - for sure - but NOT for kids OR for 'sensitive' adults. Lots of nudity, sex, violence and - well - unpleasant scenes. Yikes!! lol
50
Saw 'Brainstorm' in a theatre - where it belongs. Quite a few scenes that NEED to be on the 'big screen'. Worth watching - though - even on a watchman!! Makes one wonder - once again - what death might really be like.
51
A very good movie. 90% 'Tom Hanks' - so if you like Tom [As I do] then you'll probably really like 'Cast Away'. It is a drama so don't expect 'laughs a plenty'.
52
An OK movie. For some reason - I couldn't get 'into' it. [And I've seen it twice now] Still... worth watching. [But then I think most movies are 'worth watching']
53
The first really scary movie I ever saw. That said... don't most of us wish that we could 'think' our way to getting even with the 'not so nice'?!
54
Really? Five stars?! Well... I can't help myself. I love 'The Changeling'. It's one of my favourite movies!! What choice do I have. It's a great ghost story.
55
A great movie. Very 'tight' and well acted. Brings up a lot of emotional responses. [How would I react? What would I do? That sort of thing]
56
A good movie. If you've always wanted to see what Cary Elwes' bum looks like - this is your chance!! lol Seriously - an interesting story.
57
An interesting movie. Aliens blend in with humans.
58
A good movie. But you have to see ALL of it - NOT the version that has been 'Edited for Television'.
59
To be honest - I've never seen this version. But I have seen the 1972 version with Peter Falk and Jill Clayburgh. THAT was a wonderful movie. One of my favourites.
60
Somewhat typical. But still worth watching.
61
Quite well done. And quite believable - insofar as how such a circumstance would be responded to by the government. [You'll understand if you watch the movie]
62
Interesting movie with a few good scenes. Worth watching.
63
A great movie. Both Gleason and Newman do a wonderful job.
64
Good - but a bit long. Not sure how factual it is.
65
I really liked this movie. Lots of 'stars'. Interesting story. In fact - several interesting stories.
66
A very funny movie. No doubt many of us can relate to the idea of pent up anger and frustration masked by 'niceness'.
67
Interesting. But I do think that Robin Williams character could have been a little 'creepier'. Perhaps even a little more obsessive.
68
A good movie. Worth watching. Oh what a web we weave.... Well acted by Robin Williams and Al Pacino.
69
One of my favourite movies. Well acted by all. Eastwood, Malkovitch and everyone else - for that matter. I've seen it several times.
70
I bought the DVD because I was told a Chrysler 300C is in it!! Ended up liking the movie.
71
I love this film. Typical of the courage of early 1970's film makers. Not afraid to tell interesting and unusual stories.
72
Over the years I've probably watched 'Ordinary People' 20+ times. For some reason it really 'spoke' to me. A moving story that focuses - in part - on how one deals with survivor guilt.
73
Very well acted. Worth watching - even though it may be somewhat difficult for some to do so.
74
Not quite as awful [scary wise] as I thought it was going to be. Very well acted.
75
Oddly enough - a fun movie to watch. Yet another lesson for all when it comes to being careful who you play for a fool.
76
A good movie. Perhaps a bit misleading to those who have lost a loved one. Life is not always like the movies.
77
A funny movie. Worth watching if you're just looking for a good laugh or two.
78
Well acted. Like Michael Douglas in most things. 'Wall Street' included.
79
An interesting story. Could it happen? Somewhat 'retro' these days - considering how advanced we are compared to the computers featured in the movie.
80
Very good. Very interesting. Ruth Gordon especially good.
81
Not your typical movie. It's interesting to watch. Imagine finding out your whole life has been a TV show.
82
A good movie with a car chase scene that rivals the one from 'Bullitt'.
83
Very good. Well acted.
84
Signs
2002, PG-13)
Not one of my favourites. In no big rush to watch it again. A little over-acted by Mel Gibson.
85
An excellent movie. Very interesting. Moral of the story? Don't assume that just because YOU can't see something - it doesn't exist.
86
A great comedy. I miss John Candy. A very funny guy. The pairing of Candy and Martin was perfect.
87
Well acted - even my Richard Gere. [Who I don't always like in movies] Norton was as good as he usually is.
88
A very funny movie - with quite a few LOL parts.
89
A great movie. A bit on the slow side - but very well acted.
90
Perhaps my favourite of all Alfred Hitchcock movies.
91
A great movie. Tom Hanks deserved the Oscar that he won. Holds your interest in spite of being quite a long movie.
92
I really like this movie. A good mystery. [And really - that's exactly what it is]
93
Powder
1995, PG-13)
Good movie. Several tear-jerker scenes.
94
Good movie. Very exciting ending. Well acted by all.
95
A good movie. Makes you think about what's important in life.
96
I like this movie. But it's more amusing than wonderful.
97
Good movie. Some of the characters - however - are like fingers on a chalkboard. Found it a bit difficult to care if all of them made it out alive.
98
Good action film. Quite intense in parts. Worth watching.
99
Not a huge fan of this film - but worth watching all the same. Lot of good looking people to ogle!!
100
That's right - 4 1/2 stars. It's that good. Given the same circumstance - what would YOU have done if YOU were in Mel Gibsons shoes?!
101
I like this movie. Good story supports what could have easily been only a special effects movie.
102
A good movie. Lots of intense scenes.
103
A fun movie to watch. Does it really come down to how we deal with fear?! You tell me.
104
I can't help myself. I have no choice but to give 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' the full five stars. It was my all-time favourite movie when I was a kid. [And I still really like it] A car that flies. Imagine that!! :o)
105
Just a fun movie to watch. A bit long - for sure - but worth watching nonetheless. Staring MANY big shot comedians. [Most appearing in cameo roles]
106
A very good movie. Especially well acted by Robert Duvall and many of the non-professional hired locals.
107
Good movie. Well acted by all. Not much good can come from selling yourself.
108
An interesting movie - especially for those who have an inventive spirit. Did the big shots in Detroit really go out of their way to kill the Tucker? It wouldn't surprise me.
109
A good movie. A bit 'dark' and deary - but good nonetheless. Well acted by Newman.
110
Ray
2004, PG-13)
Worth watching. In no rush to watch again - but that's OK. Jamie Foxx did a great job as Ray Charles.
111
112
A great movie. Kathy Bates is wonderful. [As usual] One can 'come of age' at ANY age.
113
An unusual movie that suggests an incestuous relationship between a brother and sister. Full frontal nudity - both male and female - so be aware. [Usually that makes me WANT to watch a movie!! lol]
114
A big hit when it first came out. Still fun to watch.
115
I love this movie!! LOL It's fun to watch. Silly - for sure - but that's what it's supposed to be.
116
Yet another very good Woody Allen film.
117
One of my favourite Woody Allen films. Well acted by all. Worth watching.
118
A funny movie - especially in parts. A series of skits - basically.
119
Cocoon
1985, PG-13)
A good movie. Moral of the story?! Never underestimate the power of positive thinking - regardless of your age.
120
A funny, farcical movie. Especially enjoyed watching Madeline Kahn.
121
Good movie. A bit long. Great soundtrack.
122
A surprisingly good low-budget sci-fi movie. Worth watching.
123
Pretty good. "kick the can' wasn't bad but best of all was the 'Monster of the plane' [Or whatever is was called] starring John Lithgow.
124
Interesting movie. Exactly as the title suggests. A lady is in a cage!! [Well - not by choice]
125
126
I liked this movie - but have no real desire to see it again. Some movies are like that - I guess. Better than I thought it was going to be though.
127
I love this movie!! Lots of laughs - especially if you find frustrating people funny. Please don't even think of comparing this original to the re-make starring Goldie Hawn.
128
A good movie. The first of the 'Dirty Harry' series. ALL worth watching!!
129
A great movie - but often difficult to watch. 'Mother' in film was brilliantly acted. She anchored the entire film. [Well... her 'attitude' towards what's right and wrong did - at least]
130
I really enjoyed watching 'The Firm'. Good story. And scary too. [In the 'could really happen' sort of way]
131
Not bad but not nearly as good as the Alister Sims version.
132
Quite good. A 'thinkers' ghost story. Last movie made starring several of the actors.
133
Not bad. Happens more often than many of us are willing to believe.
134
JFK
1992, R)
Good movie. A bit long. One must be careful not to allow the impressiveness of a big-budget movie to overly influence what is [Or what might be] 'reality' regarding a historical event.
135
Well done. Just a bit long. Nixon was never really THAT interesting to begin with.
136
An excellent movie. Beautiful music [but of course] and wonderful costumes, background scenes, etc. Worthy indeed of 'Best Picture' Academy Award.
137
Basically 'Sleeping in Seattle'. An easy movie to watch.
138
139
Good special effects.
140
Not bad at all. Well acted by Goldie Hawn.
141
Good movie. A twist on what one usually [and sometimes unfairly] assumes about who the victim is re: sexual harassment.
142
Good movie. Well acted. Easy to dismiss the impact of such a film when viewed some 16 or so years after it was first shown.
143
Interesting story. Never felt an urge to watch it again - so that should tell you something.
144
Quite funny - especially in parts. Must appreciate dry humour to 'get' this movie. Fortunately - I do!! A bit silly near the end.
145
A funny movie - at least in parts. A series of unrelated 'skits'. Especially like the one with Gene Wilder!! lol Also though the 'transvestite' story was funny. :o)
146
OK movie. Could have been better. But still worth watching.
147
Ghost
1990, PG-13)
Sappy movie - but good and worth watching. Whoopi Goldberg is fun.
148
A fun movie. Well acted by Ricki Lake and Devine!!
149
I've seen this movie quite a few times. Must be on TV a lot!! Not bad. Worth watching.
150
Filmed in Vancouver, B.C. Good movie. Well acted by Foster.
151
Michael Douglas AND Sharon Stone. How could it not be good. And it is. Some gruesome parts - so beware.
152
I like this movie. A bit slow in parts - but interesting story.
153
Funny movie. With several LOL parts. Worth watching.
154
The best of the Poltergeist series - that's for sure. Fun movie to watch - and a bit scary - too.
155
Very unusual film - that's for sure. Hard not to watch. Can't help but wonder what's going to happen next!!
156
An exciting movie. Lots of action scenes.
157
Filmed in Vancouver, B.C. Nothing fancy - just a good 'ol movie. Some interesting scenes.
158
Interesting. Worth watching. I appreciate how the 'event' was taken from the perspective of 'regular folks'. We really wouldn't know ALL the WHYS and WHATS of such an event. We would have no power to stop it either.
159
Good movie. Interesting premise. Can't help but ask yourself... "Would YOU?"
160
OK - I'm biased. Probably a 3.5 star movie but I just like it so much. Could be because I find both Sarandon and Spader appealing!! :o)
161
A funny movie. Crystal plays a stand-up comedian. How could it NOT be funny. Good story - too.
162
Worth watching. Interesting story.
163
A funny movie. A 'chick-flick' but funny enough to please everyone.
164
Clever story. Gene Hackman - as usual - is very good.
165
An excellent movie. Well acted. Good story. Equal bits of funny and sad.
166
A charming movie. [Not a term I use often]
167
I didn't like this movie. Sure - the special effects were impressive but the story could have been better.
168
One of Mel Brooks funnier movies. Super silly - but that's OK. It's supposed to be!!
169
A somewhat disturbing film. A good example of just how dangerous it is NOT to care about people.
170
A fun movie to watch.
171
Pretty good. Well acted. Good story.
