I just watched Drive for the second time since its initial release, in my home, on my television via Netflix instant streaming. There were no annoying movie patrons this time around, talking to the screen or shouting in my ear; no brainless Joe's taking their little children to the picture just as a violent scene had ended. This time it was just me, alone with my brother who is of age. And this time, I loved it even more.

What a wonderful movie! I absolutely loved every minute of it. It has everything I want out of a film.

Only 28 minutes in length, this short film by Chris Marker is one of the most profound movies one will ever experience. A tale of post-apocalyptic France, the people of the city of Paris now inhabit the catacombs and under places of the war torn landscapes. Strange scientist conduct time travel experiments, thrusting their human lab-rats into the vast reaches of their memories to a time when people walked freely along the streets above. Told almost entirely in still photographs, this is one of the most inventive films ever made.

Another film which I do not care one bit what the critics may think. I know these people and they this movie is close to my heart. Is this my new number 2?
