Brokeback Mountain
This film hit a nerve and I couldn't stop thinking about it weeks after first seeing it. It should've taken Oscars that year! Ang Lee is a tremendous director, I'd shave my head, get naked and give my right arm to work with him. Seriously.

American Beauty 1999,  R)
American Beauty
There is something extraordinary in the most ordinary of things... and Mendes was able to explore this beautifully. If you don't 'get it' - LOOK CLOSER! Amazingly crafted film. There are some raw and honest moments in this film that Mendes was able to capture that most directors don't even come close to.

Stone slaps a film lens on media and society's glorification and sensationalism of violence and it's just pure SWEETNESS from beginning to end! WOW! Stunning work.
