Harold and Maude
A Cat Stevens soundtrack, banjo pickin, and life - is there anything more a movie needs? Here today, gone tomorrow, so don't get attached to things.

The Door in the Floor 2004,  R)
The Door in the Floor
One of the best solutions for turning a novel into a movie ever. I'm a sucker for the east coast vibe, too.

The Big Lebowski 1998,  R)
The Big Lebowski
Ah yes, the Dude. Surrealism, Nihilists, a fuzzy glimpse into the world of porn, modern feminist art, bowling...certain things have come to light...man.
4
A Clockwork Orange 1971,  R)
5
Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys) 1995,  R)

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou 2004,  R)
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
I wasn't crazy about this movie when I first saw it. But, I must admit that it keeps being interesting after multiple viewings. It's also one of the most committed visual styles I've seen in a movie and I steal ideas from it often.
