My Favorite Movies

One of my favorite movies of all time. Suffering, redemption, growth, just a beautiful story.

Its been one of my favorites for such a long time. Always a reliable dvd choice. Dark, murky, almost graphic novel like.

My favorite zombie movie of all time. Great spoof movie that wasn't made for the masses.

Jake Gyllenhall's breakout movie. Well done in all aspects, writing, direction, and acting. The supporting actors are amazing.

My favorite david lynch movie. twist and turns, fantasy, reality, never know quite whats going to happen.

Great remake of a good japanese movie. Scary creepy, fun movie to watch with friends.

Not really into "chick flicks" but thought this one was hilarious, really takes you back to high school.

Another great Kevin Bacon movie. His non-speaking scenes are actually some of the best in the movie.

Finally darkness has entered in the harry potter movie series. The previous HP movies, i found annoying and almost nothing like the books except for the plot. Thanks Mike Newell.

Surprisingly good chick flick and I'm not even a Garner fan. "micheal its thriller time!"

Classic sci-fi. Awesome story nicely translated into film. though the ending if a bit too long and psychedelic for me lol.

Though similiar to 2001, its def not the same caliber. Still a fun movie with surprising humor.

One of the few later Eddie Murphy comedies that was of any decent quality. Surprisingly fun, without the usual annoying silliness that are in most of his movies now.

A great movie about what it truly means to be a cheerleader, ok well maybe not, but its a great Kirsten Dunst movie, with lots of great cheer scenes and you can't miss "SPIRIT FINGERS!!!"

Not the best movie ever, but one of my favorite actors, Tilda Swinton as Gabriel was excellent. Its not going to win any awards, but a fun and dark movie.

Before she was Mystique she was just as sneaky and dangerous in Femme Fatale. Well acted and written, I even liked Antonio Banderas in this one.

Retro zombie fun. Basically Lassie with a zombie instead of that silly dog. What a mischief a boy and his zombie can get into.

Completely over the top cheesy movie, reminds me of Dead Alive a great deal. Killer mutant sheep do I really have to say more?

One of my favorites, great introduction to X-men on to the big screen. Hugh Jackman as wolverine was amazingly cast. Oh and Patrick Stewart as Xavier was perfection! Story itself was ok and some of the lines were pretty cheesy unfortunately, otherwise it would have def gotten the full stars.

Not a super scary movie, but I like michael keatons performance in it. The DVD extra's are actually a bit scarier as they look at real life ghost investigations.

I'm am partial to harrison ford and michelle pfeifer, but i think this was a wonder movie, very hitchcockian in style. well acted and filmed.

Not really all that scary after the tenth time i've seen it. but the acting is excellent, and just creepy enough for fun.

Just one of my all time favorites. Great starting roles for so many people in this one. Winnona Ryder is of course amazing as her dark goth morose character, but Geena Davis and ALec Baldwin are adorable as the dead couple who show her that theres more to life than death.

THis is probably my favorite SK movies. Just amazingly written and acted. One of the best coming of age movies ever.

I'm not a comic fanatic, I'll read my best friends from time to time, which of course I borrrowed his Watchmen novel. I liked the story overall, that superheroes aren't perfect and are just as screwed up as the rest of us with their poor self-esteems and getting lost in past failures. I was quite unsure how the transition to film would be accomplished.

It ended up being amazingly good. Now if you haven't read the story I can see where the bad reviews will come from because there are some details and depth that the movie can't quite portray even in that extended film time of almost 3 hours.

The movie is quite close to the comic book, though die hard fans of course will be quite upset with the minute changes in the story and the big change with the ending, but I believe that the overall storyline and meaning was preserved.

Overall the characters were casted well. Rorschach was the best cast, but unfortunately his character wasn't developed as much as i hoped during his therapy sessions. Patrick Wilson as Night Owl II and Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre II were awesome together, great chemistry and wonderful akwardness as it was meant to be. Jefferey Dean Morgan as the Comedian was rock solid. There was only one character I actually wished they had deleted and that was Veidt's poorly done cgi lynx hybrid. In the story its basically his only person he can trust, but in the movie since there isn't time to explain his love for his pet, the pet just seems oddly out of place.

Lastly I'm tired of hearing about Dr. Manhattan's penis, its crazy that people are more offended over that appendage than the gore and graphic violence that saturates this movie. Its just a big blue penis get over it.

Just watch the movie and think of what its like to be you, to be human, to be part of the world.
