Scarface 1983, R)
There was a time when I would come home from school and watch this movie daily. I memorized every line in the movie and one time I had a dream that i was Tony Montana, living the Miami high life.. but what goes up, must come down. And just like my dream soon deflated and I fell back down to earth, realizing that I wasnt a miami kingpin; Scarface, who excelled as an underworld giant, also came down to earth as he fell to his inevitble demise. He had it all: the money, the woman, and the power. But he let his jealously and mistrust destroy his empire. He started getting high on his own supply and simply lost focus. But this film keeps you entertained as it shows how the world, which was once his, quickly began to collapse around him. |

Seven (Se7en) 1995, R)
What would you do if somebody tied you to a chair, with a plate of food, and asked you to eat yourself to death? Or what if they asked you to cut off pieces of your flesh until you have reached a certain weight? What would you cut off? What would you do?... These are just a few of the situations that the victims of the Seven Serial Killer found themselves in. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman handle B-I in this film, as they scramble to solve the murder mystery. Kevin Spacy also gives a chilling performance.. the scene in the police car is excellently suspensful. All I can say is "Whats in the box, Whats in the Box???!!" |

Requiem for a Dream 2000, R)
This is probably my favorite movie. It really delves into the concept of addiction, showing how anybody can become addicted to anything. The mother was addicted to television, which led to an obsession with being on tv, which led to an addiction to drugs. Her son was also addicted to drugs, and his girlfriend was addicted to sex, as result of her addiction to drugs..and on and on and on. The acting was on point. And the film editing was exceptionally dope! Overall, I fux wit it heavy.. |

Lean on Me 1989, PG-13)
You had the scene with Joe Clark and Sams on the roof of the building, talking bout "You smoke crack, dont you?... And you had the scene with the teacher flipping over the desk, talking bout "I was picking up a tissue.."... And you had the fight scene with the girl, talking bout "Mr. Clark, Mr. Clark, somebodys beating up Kid Ray!"... AND you had the scene with Sams standing up for Joe, talking bout "We dont want a good principle. We want Mr. Clark!" LOL, man this movie had more catch phrases than a little bit.. |

Coming to America 1988, R)
Whats the best scene.. Prince Akim at the barber shop getting his haircut (that'll be 8 bucks), or King Jaffer having his lionskin questioned for being velvet? Is it Eddie Murhpy at McDowells, trying to mop the floor with the mop still in the bucket, or is it Samuel Jackson's appearance as the store robber? Is it Arsenio Hall as the preacher at the church fundraiser, or was it the song "Sheee's your Queeeeen to beeeyeeee.." LOL, every moment is classic!! |
