My Favorite Movies

1
Braveheart 1995,  R)
Braveheart
My all-time favorite movie! Talk about a great comparison to Christ and his followers and the sacrifices he made.
2
The Passion of the Christ 2004,  R)
The Passion of the Christ
The most compelling and emotional movie I've ever experienced. And that's the truth....it was an experience, not just another good movie I've seen. The pure power of this experience is incredible. To begin to understand what He must have gone through for us is so poignant. Not for the feint of heart!! The must see movie of all-time.
3
Gladiator 2000,  R)
Gladiator
Great tale of a man who falls from glory at the hands of a jealous son to the Emperor, yet he retains his glory in what most would consider defeat. He regains his glory through gladiator games at some expense of the Emperor, himself. It shows the true power a man can posess in the face of many tragedies in life - a must see!!
4
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
A glorious finish to one of the most popular trilogies in filmmaking. The original Star Wars trilogy may be the only one that surpasses it.
5
King Arthur 2004,  PG-13)
King Arthur
A great boyhood tale of one of the most famous men in history. The interweaving of Arthur's struggle with his faith and his duty is the centerpiece to this movie. This cast has good chemistry which helps this story leap to life quickly for those who may feel bogged down by the historicity involved in the film.
6
300 2007,  R)
300
This was a great depiction of of the Persian-Greco battle that bestowed 300 Spartan soldiers with a glorius death in battle. The new wave in moviemaking may just be witnessed in this movie. There was no lack in the quality of this film considering all of the backdrops/scenes were done in CG. Apart from that, the casting for this film was impressive despite the lack of known names. Gerard Butler does justice to King Leonidas! A must see movie in my book!!
7
Saving Private Ryan 1998,  R)
Saving Private Ryan
There's few movies that move me, emotionally speaking, and this is one of them. The first 15 minutes alone will leave you emotionally spent but it's a must see to understand what our boys went through on D-Day. A great tribute to our last, and best, generation.
8
Dances With Wolves 1990,  PG-13)
Dances With Wolves
Kevin Costner's best work alongside of Field of Dreams. An epic tale that anyone who has an affinity for Native American culture and the romance that surrounds its mystique would enjoy. A must see despite its length!!
9
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
What else is there to say....great work for the middle story of a trilogy. Most trilogies lose out because of a weak central piece to their trilogy but Peter Jackson did not let it happen here!
10
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
A great opening to a great trilogy!
11
The Patriot 2000,  R)
12
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope 1977,  PG)
13
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith 2005,  PG-13)
14
Amazing Grace 2007,  PG)
Amazing Grace
A great movie that depicts one man's courage for taking on all of England's parliament in pursuing the abolition of slavery. This is a must see for everyone, not just Christians! It definitively shows how one man can affect change in this world.
15
Casino Royale 2006,  PG-13)
Casino Royale
I loved this Bond movie! In a time where we've endured the suave James Bond characters who perform somewhat unrealistic deeds we get introduced to a new Bond who is somewhat a rough-edged throwback to the Sean Connery days of 007. There was much action to entertain the Bond junkies out there but it also had a more personal side to Bond that you've really never seen before. You saw the human side of Bond versus some superhero spy as he's always portrayed to be. A bit grittier and a bit darker than most Bond films, but one I will definitely have in my library next to the Sean Connery 007 flicks!!
