Battle Royale 3D 2001,  Unrated)
Battle Royale 3D
I have been waiting awhile to see this..and finally...I found it at FYE..in fact it was a special edition with Battle Royale 2..Let me just say..I was not dissapointed...It was a grime and grusome tales of survival...40 school children sent to a desert island..and told..you must kill each other and only one can survive...the book was brilliant..and the movie IMO held true to the book...this was a graphic portrait of survival...the killings were endless...the story was tight and moved right along..The subtitles were easy and not hard to read or in turn watch the action..This movies easily will grab you by the throat and will not let go until the bloody end...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Watchmen 2009,  R)
Watchmen
I know i'll probably piss off some WATCHMEN purist..but Zack Synder did a AMAZING job of bringing the WATCHMEN to the big screen...just amazing! He held true to the dark, gritty nature of the graphic novel..having read the graphic novel years ago..and just recently re-read it again to brush up...I found that Synder did it justice. ..he interpreted well...The movie itself held fairly true to the comic..and was easy to follow...But if you have not read it...it would be difficult...

On a whole the effects were stunning from Dr.Manhatten to the whole Mars sceanrio...Absolutely loved Jackie Earl Haley as Rorschach..and in my opinon stole the movie! Archie..Nite Owl's ship was awesome...

The plot and the story moved right along..and the tweek of the ending was well served..but I did miss the Squid..but nuclear disaster played well...Barring the omittence of the Tales of the Black Freighter...this movie was well done and Synder should be commended for adapting such a hard novel for the big screen...Easily one of my favorite comic/graphic novel adaptations..2 THUMBS UP....HIGHLY RECOMMEND..for WATCHMEN FANS..Be warned..for the casual viewer..this is not your typical superhero movie!!!!

OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Man this was a great action packed movie...Bay really hit this one out of the park...The effects were top notch...story was pretty decent..Just a really enjoyable flick...I was glued to my seat the entire time..and when Optimus Prime showed up..I was like a kid in sugar induced frenzy..Bumblebee was a pretty sweet ride as well...By far my favorite movie this summer!!!
14
Iron Man 2008,  PG-13)
Iron Man
Hands down one of the best Marvel if not Superhero movies to come out. This for me rivaled Spiderman 2 as my favorite. Downey Jr. was cast perfectly as Tony Stark the ladies man techno giant...The dry wit and humor of Downey Jr. played well in his role. Bridges was a great surprise as Obidiah Stane and showed that he can be very evil. Paltrow and Howard represented there roles good as well. The story was good..staying somewhat true to the origins of Iron Man and the fabled suit...the effectx were brilliant...the action was well paced...and the movie overall was well done..as comic book geek...I was giddy with excitement..above all...the surprise cameo at the end sent shivers up my pain.."I'm here about the Avenger Iniative." I can hardly wait for the next one..and the crossovers too come. Any fan of Marvel and superhero flicks will enjoy this...2 thumbs..WAY UP!!! Highly Recommend!!!!

Breathtaking...amazing...two words that sum up this epic movie! I was mesmerized from beginning to end...The action was off the hook...the cinematography was brilliant! The story moved right along at a respectable pace..very memorable tag line's abound.."Tonight We Dine In Hell"..was the most memorable...And the first battle with the Immortals was off the hook..and as a bonus Lena Headey as the smoking hot Queen of Sparta that in itself is reason enough to watch over and over again...This was truly a epic adventure on a grand scale...Easily...one of my favorite movies this year and a add to my all time favorites!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Brilliant movie!!! The story was very tight...the grittiness was just enough to feel like you were on the streets of Boston...Damon was surprisingly good as the mole...Jack was his usual best...Leonardo really nailed the part...and Wahlberg was great...could've had more screen time. I loved the movie from beginning to end..and the ending was perfect...One of the best Mob films ever...just as good as Goodfellas maybe a tad bit better...Just an amazing film...Highly recommend!!!!

Batoru rowaiaru II: Chinkonka (Battle Royale II) 2003,  Unrated)
Batoru rowaiaru II: Chinkonka (Battle Royale II)
Not as good as Battle Royale, none the less I enjoyed it..It had the same raw gritiness of the first but it lacked in concept...Basically BR2 starts out the same...the twist...it's tag team's thus your partner dies..you die...and the whole premise for this children fighting children in a war like setting...it had some good elements...the action was brutal and fast paced for the first part then slowed down...sub-titles were bearable again...Not as good as BR1 but worth watching....Recommend....BR1 still rules!!!!!
61
Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny 2006,  R)
Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny
While not Jack Black's best movie...School of Rock is still my fav..this was hilarious!!!! The song's Tenacious D made up and sang were down right funny..and freaking raw...they pulled no punches with lyrics at all..the plot was fairly good...the cameos throught were great Ronnie James Dio, Meatloaf, Dave Grohl..and Ben Stiller...the shroom scene was the funniest...and the Satan battle at the end was pee your pant's funny...Just a wicked funny and perverted film..Fans of Tenacious D or just Jack Black should enjoy it...Highly Recommend!!!
62
The Condemned 2007,  R)
The Condemned
And they say wrestler's can't act? I throughly enjoyed this movie...the story was pretty much Running Man & Battle Royale...Running Man with the media exposure...Live video stream on the Net and not tv...Battle Royale..everyone person for themselves...plus the added c4 laced ankle bracelet..The action was there...fairly good back story...Austin was in full Stone Cold demeanor mode..but made a great hero...Vinnie Jones was spot on as the main villian..enjoyable movie...action junkies should enjoy this...Highly Recommend for all you wrestling fans and action fans out there,,,,,
63
Pathfinder 2007,  R)
Pathfinder
One of my favorite genres is hack and slash..so I truely enjoyed this bloody movie, not nearly as good as 300...but still a good flick..The story was easy to follow...the battles were both bloody and at times chilling...The cinematography was raw which made the movie more thought provoking..The Viking's were just bloodthristy and held to the Viking Lore...Clancy Brown was good as the main villian..Karl Urban was fine as the main hero..At times was little Rambosque..Overall a good flick...Highly Recommend for fans of Hack and Slash action flicks!!!!
64
Resident Evil: Extinction 2007,  R)
Resident Evil: Extinction
Not the best out of the 3 but still worth the 5.50 matinee price...The story was good, I loved the whole post plague wasteland type feel to the movie...the action was non-stop and spot on...Milla was as hot and brtual as ever...Ali Larter was superb as the convoy leader and kicked as much ass as she does on Heroes(the best on tv!!!)..The scene with the zombie crows was a bit much...the ending was alright..left it open for another...but in my opinon they should stop at three...None the less totally enjoyed this movie...HIGHLY RECOMMEND to any fan of Milla or zombie action flicks!!!!
65
30 Days of Night 2007,  R)
30 Days of Night
What a great new take on the vampire genre. This movie had it all...buckets of blood, bone chilling suspense, jump out of your seat thrills. The plot was very well done and moved right along...the tense moments of the fated townspeople was super. The vampires themselves were very well done..they were more menacing, bloodthristy, and evil then most of the current crop of vampire flicks. This was truely a very well down horror movie and vampire movie..The ending was sorta anti-climactic but overall a good old scare fest IMO. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to any horror movie or vampire movie fan!!! A hearty... TWO THUMBS UP!!!!
66
Shoot to Kill (Deadly Pursuit) 1988,  R)
Shoot to Kill (Deadly Pursuit)
Great action/thriller of the 80's...Super story..great film locales..action is spot on... Berenger was great as the tracker...Poitier was brilliant as the out of his element FBI agent...A staple in the popcorn and VHs days of the late 80's...
67
Saw III 2006,  R)
Saw III
By far this was the best of the 3...The plot was tight...this was just not another random killing's and tests for Jigsaws subjects...this had real meat to the story which really drove it for me...The psychological turmoil to the characters was great..making choices they don't want to make but need too..STELLAR..And the gore was there...brain surgery scene gave me the willies as did the rack scene that was just gruesome...this was a great movie..2 Thumbs up..HIGHLY RECOMMEND for fans of the SAW series!!!!
68
The Golden Compass 2007,  PG-13)
The Golden Compass
A great adventure and way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I truly enjoyed this movie...The special effects were well done, the cinematography stellar and the acting was good...Kidman was a great villian here dazzling blue cold hearted eyes could cut steel..Craig was great as Lord Asriel although not used enough perhaps in the sequel..and who doesn't love Sam Elliott..he was funny and played a part meant for him a down home Aeronaught...and his Daemon..too funny a jack rabbit..The story moved along well enough..action was there..and all the anit-Christian stuff...too me I wasn't even paying attention too interested in the story..and the Ice Bears...damn...my favorite part of the movie...Truly looking forward to the next one...and I may just have to red the books...2 thumbs up from me...HIGHLY RECOMMEND to any fantasy genre buffs!!!!
69
The Bourne Ultimatum 2007,  PG-13)
The Bourne Ultimatum
What an excellent movie!!! This was easily the best out of the trilogy. From the very beginning to the end it held me in it's grasp. The story was very solid and easy to follow...the action sequences were smart and action packed...the car chases were off the hook. Damon is a brilliant smart action star relying on his mind more then his guns and hands. The Bourne Ultimatum was hands down one of the best action films of 07 and a great way to tie up the first 2 films..2 thumbs WAY UP...HIGHLY RECOMMEND to fans of the Bourne films and action junkies everywhere!!!!!
70
Superbad 2007,  R)
Superbad
McLovin....who woulda thought? This movie was down right freaking funny as hell...I mean we've all seen the geeky teen wanting to get laid movies before? But this one was just straight out of the twisted mind of Jude Aptow...The language was the only negative for me...pretty much overused through out...but what McLovin, Seth and Evan went through on their quest to get lucky erased the langauge over use...Rogan and Hader put a whole new look on the men in blue...the whole McLovin and cop adventure had to be some of the most original and funniest moments in a comdyy..This movie was just tooo fun to watch...2 thumbs WAY UP for me..HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR the geeky teen wanna get laid guy in us all!!!!
71
Live Free or Die Hard 2007,  PG-13)
Live Free or Die Hard
John NcClane is back..and still kicking ass and shooting off one-liner's like it's the first time!!! I totally enjoyed this movie from beginning to end..the story seemed pretty tight...the concept was great given what techonolgy is today...Bruce was brilliant as ever as the hero...enjoyed Justin Long as reluctant sidekick...and Tinothy Olyphant played a beliveable enough villian...The action sequences were amazing..just amazing...and you gotta love Kevin Smith as Warlock...too freaking funny! Favorite line in the movie a was when Gabriel asked about female counterpart..and McClane said.."She's at the bottom of an elevator shaft with a SUV rammed up her ass!!!" CLASSIC!!!! All in all a great addition to the Die Hard franchise..2 thumbs WAY up!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENEND to all Die Hard and Willis fans!!!!!
72
National Treasure: Book of Secrets 2007,  PG)
National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Great sequeal to National Treasure..I truly enjoyed this movie and would have given it 5 Stars if they had just a tad more action sequences. But none the less a great Cage pic. The story was good...some parts a little far fetched but in the whole scope of the movie the far fetched parts were needed. Enjoyed the banter between Gates parents in mind added to the whole movie. Ed Harris played the part of Mitchell the villian well, and whats not to like about Harvey Kietel? This movie was great to spend a Saturday afternoon..and all in all a great movie!!! So I wonder what was on page 47? Maybe we'll find in out in the next one? I think this is a great franchise for Cage..and for Cage fans. Two thumbs from me...HIGHLY RECOMMEND for all Cage fans...and fans of treasure hunting, globe trotting type movie!!!!!
73
Knocked Up 2007,  R)
Knocked Up
Another great Judd Apatow film...this was too funny...not as funny as Superbabd or the 40 Year Old Virgin...but still funny. Seth Rogen has got to be one my favortie comedic actors...his dry wit and slacker attitude cracks me up! Katherine Heigel was stunning she was even hot pregnant...Alot of funny moments in the movie...The story was well done...Paul Rudd totally cracked me up as the "cheating" Dad....Fantasy Baseball anyone...Just totally a funny movie...2 thumbs!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND to all Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen fans!!!!
74
28 Weeks Later... 2007,  R)
28 Weeks Later...
Great sequel to the original...for me this had it all...suspense...blood...and action..The story was very well done picking up from the original...add the morality issue with Robert Carlyles character it made this movie a tad bit more better then the first. Sorta of poetic justice when he is turned by his wife..The infected seem more crazed then the first..the cinematography made this movie that much more chilling and suspenseful. Totally stoked that a LOST cast member and one of my fav Losties Harold Perrineau was in it. The ending left me too wonder if their will be another..if there is...Can't wait!!! I really enjoy this new take on the Zombie genre...2 thumbs up!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND for fans of 28 Days Later and zombie flicks in general!!!!
75
The Last Legion 2007,  PG-13)
The Last Legion
Good addition to the myth of Excalibur...I truly enjoyed the movie..the story was fairly easy to follow...some spots were rushed alittle...but the action made up for the rush in the story in my opinon. I dig all sorts of sword/action/fantasy films..and I enjoyed this one. The scenery was breathtaking...the sword fights were off the hook...Ben Kingsley playing the Merlin role was believeable and a very different role for him...Although crucified by the critics and fans alike...I enjoyed it..a great popcorn type action/adventure film...if you enjoyed King Arthur you should enjoy this....2 thumbs up...HIGHLY RECOMMEND for medevial film genre fans, and fans of the King Arthur legned!!!!
76
The Kingdom 2007,  R)
The Kingdom
Powerful film....Slow to start but it picked up speed and when it did...They pulled out all the stops from insane car chases...blazing gun battles..and suspense. A real good, solid story...Jamie Foxx did an outstanding job....as did Chris Cooper and Jason Bateman..not the usual film for Bateman...but still he did well. The story political in nature pulled at the heart strings over the plight of Americans over seas...very powerful film..a great thinking mn's action film...Two thumbs up..HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
77
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian 2008,  PG)
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
If you like epic battles...breathtaking locales...centuars...minotaurs..dwarf's and sword weilding mice..this is the movie for you! Although I thought it was well done..both action wise and effects wise...it was not better then the first, but still rates high on my fantasy meter. The story was good..not brilliant like the first..this one seem to be lacking some magical tones that the first had. I did like how all the Narnians were banded togther to fit the Telmarines..King Miraz seemed lacking to me in the villian part no where near as menacing as the White Witch...that aside who doesn't like centuars and minotaurs joining forces?? The sword weilding mouse cracked me up as did Peter Dinklage as the red dwarf. Overall an enjoyable fantasy film and a great way to spend a wet, rainy Sunday afternoon. Two thumbs up...Highly Recommend for fantasy genre fans as well fans of Narnia!!!
