Very interesting film. I read recently that it was really a statement about the war.

Rooster Cogburn 1975,  PG)
Rooster Cogburn
Super, funny, and a teaming of two of the best actors around. Kate and John played off of each other so well in this movie. I can watch it over and over. Kate is one of my favorite actors of all time. So is the Duke.

Stagecoach
I just melted when I saw this movie for the first time in about 1955. Wish I had been able to see it on big screen. All of these movies I have only seen on TV.
He and Clair Trevor made it seem so real between them. John Mitchell's portrail of the drunk was a superb performance. Andy, What can you say but, Devine. LOL
13
Big Jake 1971,  PG-13)
Big Jake
This was an ok movie. Not one of my favorite John Wayne movies. But heck they all can't be my favorite. LOL
14
The Quiet Man 1952,  Unrated)
The Quiet Man
Utterly funny and fantastic. But again it is a Maureen and John movie. They couldn't make a bad movie when it was the two of them

The Searchers 1956,  Unrated)

McLintock!
McLintock??? What can you say but so GOOD. When I was a kid and even into my teenage years, I wondered if Duke and Maureen were in love. Many years later I found out they were the very best of friends. This is also one of my favorites.

The Duke was THE MAN. I have loved him since I was 10 or 12. Used to watch him on Saturday morning along with all of the other B western actors.
I used to be able to watch the same movie over and over for a whole week. I used to be able to quote him word for word. I really miss those days when I could see all of the wonderful good movies.
    DUKE YOU ARE GREATLY MISSED.
