1
The Producers 1968,  PG)
The Producers
HILARIOUS! Zero Mostel & Gene Wilder are a combination the likes of which has not been seen for many a day. And when I think that they had the nerve to remake this...grrrr
2
Arsenic and Old Lace 1944,  Unrated)
Arsenic and Old Lace
Absolutely hilarious. Cary Grant proves his mastery over physical comedy.
3
Batman Begins 2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
Finally. It has come. Batman, the way he was first incarnated.
(Except the Code Against Killing bit, but that was done tolerably). Here is the Dark Knight in his rage and grandeur.
4
Spider-Man 2002,  PG-13)
Spider-Man
A smashing rendition of the old saga. The ending was so perfectly drawn, it made me say, "Yes, that is Spider-Man."
5
Spider-Man 2 2004,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 2
I still can't figure for sure whether this or its predecessor was the better movie, and that is entirely due to Alfred Molina. What a Trouper!
6
The Princess Bride 1987,  PG)
The Princess Bride
The modern swashbuckler by which its contemporaries are judged. Nothing here is off even a trifle.
7
The Philadelphia Story 1940,  Unrated)
8
The Quiet Man 1952,  Unrated)
9
Singin' in the Rain 1952,  G)
Singin' in the Rain
The movie musical by which all others are judged. Unmissable by any fan of the genre.
10
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope 1977,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
This rating applies to Star Wars, the _original_. I have no truck with this 'director's cut' nonsense, and there is no "episode 4."
Oh yeah, and
HAN SHOT FIRST!
11
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back 1980,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
The great one.
12
The Incredibles 2004,  PG)
The Incredibles
One of the best movies of recent years
13
Sergeant York 1941,  Unrated)
14
Father Goose 1964,  Unrated)
Father Goose
Grant delivers another fantastic performance. This is a tale from the ages, and well-rendered.
15
Casablanca 1942,  PG)
Casablanca
One of the few 'classics' that I found to live up to it's immense hype.
16
WarGames (War Games) 1983,  PG)
WarGames (War Games)
A genuine cult classic, and utterly deserved. The only regret is that it contributed to Broderick's typecasting as "teenage twerp."
