A instant classic. Al Pacino play's Sonny a Bi-sexual bank robber failing miserably as a criminal but becoming a rockstar in his own right. Played out as perfect satire and dark comedy(until the end.) This film shines with a grit, wit, and an almost over the top dynamic that was all too true. Based on a magazine article and the national news accounts of our anti-hero Sonny, Dog Day Afternoon is one that should not be missed at all.
Absolutely brilliant! The Warriors delivers where other action films don't. I can go on for days quoting this film and talking about it. I have a gripe and it has nothing to do with the film but only with the director's cut that was released about 4 years ago. That cut, seemed if you've seen the original cut, feels very unconventional, as if it didn't fit at all. Like Scarface this is film that people love or hate.
"First of all to understand what happened to killer, you gotta understand who killer the dog was. Now killer was born to a three-legged bitch of a mother. He was always ashamed of this, man. And then right after that he's adopted by this man, Tito Liebowitz he's a small time gun runner and a rotweiler fight promoter. So he puts killer into training. They see killer's good. He is damn good. But then he had the fight of his life. They pit him against his brother nibbles. And killer said "no man that's my brother, I can't fight nibbles" but they made him fight anyway, and killer, he killed nibbles. Killer said "that's it!" he called off all his fights, and he started doing crack, and he freaked out. Then in a rage, he collapsed, and his heart no longer beat. wow."
Funny thing about Zeitgeist, many people dismiss the religious chapter when, many with access to public library, which is all of us living in the united states, can find the information included in the documentary.
A lot documentaries dealing with conspiracy, are 80%-90% subversion. sometimes with the facts, other times with the flash to keep us well... tuned into the feature. What I love is the handful of righteous, angry, smart(I use this term when relating to Zeitgeist, very loosely),and confrontational people that rise from the internet to, either, hate or love this exceptional documentary. I don't believe 9/11 was an inside job. Do I agree that George W. Bush was a bad president? yes. The Roths and Rockfellers control our bank account?... maybe?
Grain of salt is key? Don't believe everything people tell you, but, if you have a question or are confused? look for the info. It's not hard. I often believe the people actually, honestly upset with this are, in fact, lazy. They often attack the film without look to both sides of the argument, many times calling us persons who remotely enjoy this feature, CRAZY! I would rather be a little bit crazy than prude. I should make a documentary about this documentary... Ha Ha, I think people have beaten me to the punch on that one.

American Hardcore was a documentary that gave me as much info on the 80's Hardcore scene as the book did. I really enjoyed this flick, my only gripe was that the Bad Brains was featured more than other bands, but in all honesty, Too much Bad Brains is never a bad thing.
