In my eyes there's The Good, The Bad & the Ugly & then there's everything else. I have been in love w/ this movie for over 25 years from when I first saw it @ my Uncle's on Thanksgiving on the old crummy VHS pan & scan. When the theme song kicked in I was like 'what the fuck is this?! this is fucking awesome!' Ive lost count how many times I have wathced it since. I used to make girls I dated watch it when we rented movies to see if they had any taste. I would come home from the bar drunk @ 3 in the morning finding it on & watch it until the sun came up. When ever I find it on TV I watch it no matter where it was in the film even though I have copies of my own. Started a cult w/ me Lee Van Cleef & Spaghetti Westerns..The greatest thing since beer in king cans
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

When I was 12 a video store that we rented from had a booklet (actually a bunch of typewritten pages stapled together) of their movies (even the XXX ones) & I used to make note of all the titles that I wanted to see. One of the first titles that was on this list was The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Being a Friday the 13th fan I was looking for more of the same so when I had told my youth leader this he discouraged me watching TCM because it had very little gore & some parts of the movie were so dark you couldn't see what was going on. He recommended I watch A Nightmare on Elm St..I decided to watch The Terminator. Anyways I will give him credit on a couple of things because when I finally did end up seeing TCM a few years later is there is hardly any gore & there are parts where you couldn't see shit (thank god for DVD so I didn't have to keep trying to find better VHS transfers). I won't give him credit for discouraging me from watching the 2nd greatest horror movies of all time. TCM is the 3 punch movie w/ the tension in the first act w/ the Hitchhiker; the brutality in the 2nd w/ Leatherface & the dark black comedy of the Cook in the 3rd. When they are all combined in the end it's pure insanity
