My Favorite Movies

Gladiator 2000,  R)
Gladiator
This movie was awesome. The start, the action, the quotes, the ending, the actors. I found no faults in the movie itself.
I was a BIT dissapointed too find out, the historical side of it, is totally off - but, this as a movie, its near perfection.
2
King Arthur 2004,  PG-13)
King Arthur
Finally a movie based on the true historic findings of King Arthur, and with the story being different then the legendary plot you expect, it still comes out on top!
One of the best movies I've ever seen.
3
Tristan & Isolde 2005,  PG-13)
Tristan & Isolde
The ending was a tad predictable, but the story itself is awesome! Its a major twist between action, chick flick, and always keeps you thinking. Awesome movie!

Vanilla Sky 2001,  R)
Vanilla Sky
This movie is nutts. The first time I watched I'll admit, I hated it. I hated it because it was so confusing, and you cant miss a part. But, if you watch it again - or despite being confused the first time stay watching it, you'll see it all comes together in the end too make one of the most insane mind crazed movies, ever.
Kind of a crap review from me, but
thats really all I can say, without giving it away. So take my word, and watch it.
5
Troy 2004,  R)
Troy
"Men are haunted by the vastness of eternity. And so we ask ourselves: will our actions echo across the centuries? Will strangers hear our names long after we are gone, and wonder who we were, how bravely we fought, how fiercely we loved?"
One of the best movies ever, in my opinion.
6
Gangs of New York 2002,  R)
Gangs of New York
Another Civil War movie Era, that was insanly good. A few spots made it a bit questionable, but, for the most part - the action is out of this world, the quotes and emotion behind the film are intense, and the storyline itself unfolds with perfection. Movies awesome!
7
Gods and Generals 2003,  PG-13)
Gods and Generals
This movie didnt do so well in theaters and I've even heard rumors that they are not making the last movie too the supposed too have been trilogy , "Last Full Measure", because of the outcome of this one.
I'm not sure why? I would give this movie credit as being possibly the best Civil War movie ever made! It nails all the historical figures, the battles are awesome, and beyond that it has enough information about everyone too seriously keep your attention on the people - really want too keep watching, too see what happens, too see how they react. I think most Civil War movies lack that, and I rarley reccommend a movie about the Civil War too someone who is not a Civil War buff.
This one however to me, is an exception.
I think it's great for anyone!
It's one of my favorite movies, and Stephen Lang totally won me over, as a fan with his acting in this.
8
Gettysburg 1993,  PG)
Gettysburg
Im a major Civil War buff, and Gettysburg too me, was the greatest. I bought it as soon as I watched it and I've probably seen it about 20-times. But, as I said, I think this is moreless because of my historic loving of this period.
I think the movie itself has a downfall, of just being carried out for SO long. I think they needed to that too make sure they included everything that mattered (because it all did) but at the same time, it's hard for alot of people to actually sit and watch this movie all the way through - remain thrilled - and enjoy it.
But overall, I really liked it and I probably wouldnt change it for nothing. Just, not reccommend it too anyone who isnt serious civil war fanatics.

Kingdom of Heaven 2005,  R)
Kingdom of Heaven
The soundtrack, battle scenes, plot, and actors are all perfection in this movie. Especially the Seige Warfare scenes. I've never seen better..obviously one of the best movies I've seen for a long time. It's now one of my favorites.
10
The Patriot 2000,  R)
The Patriot
Good historical movie! The best revolutionary war era movie I've seen. Mel Gibson was beyond good in it.
11
Braveheart 1995,  R)
Braveheart
Great directing, great cast, historically accurate, and pretty much everything else you want too see in a movie. It took me awhile too watch it but the movie is classic - it's quite possibly the best movie I have seen.
12
Glory 1989,  R)
Glory
Historically it was a little different, and the characters you follow in this movie - other then a few - are not real. But, the story of the 54th, and the message its getting out is great.
I think its one of the best civil war movies out there. It's a classic, and should be watched!
13
Flyboys 2006,  PG-13)
Flyboys
This movie is truly five-star material.
Great actors, great flying scenes, and a historic story that will keep you watching from start to finish. I have not seen a better flying movie ever produced. James Franco did a crazy good job. This movie is classic.
14
Freedom Writers 2007,  PG-13)
Freedom Writers
This might be one of the most inspiring movies I have ever seen. It shows how ordinary people can make a difference in the world - and that if people pull together and have someone to believe in them then the possibilities of what one can do are endless.

Beyond the amazing story the soundtrack, the way the movie was laid out, and the actors done one of the best jobs ive seen when bringing together something of reality onto the big-screen. Movie well done.
15
Batman Begins 2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
I became a fan of the original batman movies but the one thing I always hated about it was that they were SO unrealistic at times and I knew Batman technically was not supposed to be that way.

This movie truly brought the story to life in the realest way possible and has brought a new appreciation to the legend of the dark knight. This was easily the BEST movie to it's date of release concerning Batman and out did the original three movies.

All the actors were amazing, the storyline was even better, and so was everything else. This movie did not miss a step.
16
Titanic (in 3D) 2012,  PG-13)
Titanic (in 3D)
I liked this movie. Even though I am a guy and it's moreless a chick-flick. Mainly, because im a history buff and I thought they did a good job of recreating some of the historical real characters, while adding a few fictional characters, too bring out the emotion and stories behind people who were probably on the ship and there stories were never told, or known about, for that matter.

3:10 to Yuma 2007,  R)
3:10 to Yuma
This movie is intense. You really get an idea of the 'Wild West' with a look of a little bit of everyone from all walks of life from the poor rancher, to the townspeople, to posses', and one of the most dangerous outlaws in the frontier - Ben Wade.

The actors done a great job and were all more then convincing, even the supporting actors done insanly good. The movie is full of action and emotion and worthy of a watch and owning.

**Spoiler beyond this point**

A lot of people hate the ending and rate it lower because of that. I at first hated it as well but then I got to thinking - he has escaped from Yuma twice. He calls his horse in the end as the train rolls off, so it's clear he has no intentions on sticking in Yuma and was doing that merely for the boys benefit.

He killed his entire gang and at first I thought that stole from the movie as these guys risked there lives and showed passion to get him back, but we must remember Wade's words in the tavern, "He made a mistake, he was stupid, now he's dead". Ben Wade could spring himself from Yuma, his gang should of kept on riding and met up with him later. They made a mistake, they were stupid, now there dead. I think Wade taking them out proves his ruthlessness - he killed them even after there sacrifice to keep him from prison.

It's in a man's nature to take what he wants, but even a mean man has a heart.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford 2007,  R)
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
The Assination of Jesse James is simply amazing. It is the greatest western era movie I have seen in a long time and Bradd Pitt plays the role with perfection,

Positives: All the actors in this movie play there roles with perfection, Brad Pitt and Affleck should both clearly recieve some awards for there roles. The storyline is historically correct and does a great job of capturing the emotions of not only the characters within the story, but the natural reaction of America...
It was so hard to see how America could honor americans biggest outlaw and hate so badly the "coward" who shot Jesse James, but this movie truly will make those who watch fill just that.... it did me..

Negatives: The only negative this movie has is it's length for some will be a problem. It's about two and a half hours and while that was great for me, for those who are not historically in sync with this period will probably find themselves confused or simply just thinking the movie is really slow for the first hour... my advise for those who fall in those categories, keep watching, because this movie will unfold and be one of the best movies you'll ever see.

Overall: Perfect recapturing of The Assination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
