Carrie 2002,  Unrated)
Carrie
Yet another good film adaptation of Stephen King's novella Carrie. While the main story of Carrie is kept more loyal to the novella, the story overall is again changed somewhat. The ending is completely different from the novella, and for good reason. This film is not a remake. It was meant to serve as a pilot for a tv series where Carrie moves to Florida to help others with telekinetic powers. However, that series was a failed project. So this film cannot be classified as a remake. Simply as another film adaptation that's more loyal to the novella. Still, it is a very good film, that's well worth watching.

Carrie 1976,  R)
Carrie
I love this film. It's a very nice adaptation of Stephen King's novella, even though there's a decent amount of material from the novella that's not in this film. It's a very tragic story. The film is very well done.

Star Trek 2009,  PG-13)
Star Trek
A truely awesome film. Spectacular storyline, and incredible visual effects. It feels like a cross between a prequel, sequel and remake. it's a prequel because it explains the main characters' backstories, it's a sequel because a bad guy from the old series comes back in time and gets revenge for events that occur in the old series (thus, the old series is important to watch first, because it explains that timeline leading up to the referred events), and it's a remake because when said bad guy comes back in time to get revenge, he changes the storyline, altering the events in the past, and changing the overall story completely (thus, the old storyline is no longer relevant). I highly recommend watching this film. it pleases even those of us who aren't Star Trek fans (I know I'm not. I only like this new film).

The Mist 2007,  R)
The Mist
Awesome film! extremely loyal to Stephen King's novella, with a few minor exceptions. The questions left ambiguous in the novella are answered in the film with some of the theories the novella gives you, and the ending is different (it has a much more religious theme behind it). I won't give away the new ending, but this film is awesome. Only a few other minor bits are cut from the film, but only because they aren't necessary in the story. This is a film I highly recommend.

Christine 1983,  R)
Christine
Very good film. It's different in the novel in various ways, most importantly that the film is about an evil car that's alive, whereas the novel is about a car possessed by it's previous owner, and how Arnie becomes possessed as well. Also, the deaths are all different, as well as a different ending (the novel ends with a cliffhanger where the car is still out trying to kill the remaining people who've damaged it. the film ends with the crushed car trying to fix itself, implying the idea that evil never dies.). Overall, it's another good film adaptation of a Stephen King novel. As for the remake, the only thing I hope for is that it ends up being more loyal to the novel in the ways I've mentioned above.

Stephen King's It 1990,  Unrated)
Stephen King's It
It's a pretty good miniseries. As a film adaptation of a Stephen king novel, it's only loosely based on the novel It. The characters are tied into the story differently (not as well, I'll admit), nearly all the flashbacks are gone, and the overall story is different. What remains is still rather well done, but for fans of the novel, it's rather upsetting. i still recommend watching it, but read the novel after you watch it. I hope the remake ends up better.

Cujo 1983,  R)
Cujo
Very good film. As always, the film story is different from the novel, but it's very loyal to the novel as such. Another film adaptation of a Stephen King novel, and it's well done and very good.
