Slow start, but a brilliant buildup to a shattering finish. And the movie did an awesome job in portraying a very complex, multilayered backstory without resorting to flashbacks, expositions and other shortcuts - this was storytelling brilliance, giving you just enough to piece it together on your own without losing the rhythm, pace and flow of the main narrative. There is some amount of inevitability which takes away some suspense, but it's the kind you get when watching two trains go for a head-on collision; the fact that you know what's going to happen, doesn't take away from the impact it has. Pure awesomeness.

Pretty decent movie - slightly quiet start, a lot of talk and gradual pickup, but what gets it running is the fact that at heart, it's a fairly simple story - loyalty, temptation, betrayal, secrets and leverage - and it's easy to follow and be pulled into, even if you're completely unfamiliar with the context.
What really comes out is a dark message, though - Life can switch from the light to darkness in the blink of an eye - and still continue, for all appearances, exactly as it did before.
