1	Night of the Living Dead 1968,  R) Off the top of my head, I can't think of a more important or influential horror film than the original NOTD. While it's not my personal favorite horror film, let alone movie, it is very important. Romero started the zombie phenomenon, and eventually brought legitamacy to an unfocused horror market. A seminal work.
2	Dawn of the Dead 1978,  R) My favorite horror movie ever. Pies, consumerism, wheel barrows and guns. The film has it all. Nuff said.
3	Cidade de Deus (City of God) 2002,  R) One of the rare films that lives up to the hype. City of God broke out of nowhere and set it off. A true powerhouse of a film where everything's perfect; the plotting, cinematography, acting and direction coalesce to transend typical limits of storytelling. Unequivocably recommended.
