The Basketball Diaries 1995, R)
As my favourite movie of all time, I feel like I should say something that really encapsulates why I feel so stongly about the film. But, annoyingly, I seem unable to. The life style these boys lead is so far removed from my own life that I am fascinated and shocked, repelled yet attracted. The acting is extremely real and moving, without being cliched or corny. If it were made today, it may have been terrible. |

Clueless 1995, PG-13)
Like, Hello, This is the ULTIMATE movie! It is hard to pinpoint exactly why it is so appealing - perhaps it is because it was catchy enough to still have quotes that are used today, or because it linked so nicely to Jane Austen's 'Emma'. Or because of the great characters, and the shallow world in which they reside... too many reasons why it is good. |

The Matrix Reloaded 2003, R)
I think that as a trilogy the three films connect really well, but Reloaded always appeals to me the most because there are some interesting characters, particularly the twins. I guess also that it is a sequel that nicely continues the storyline so you feel like you have seen something that furthered your affections for the first movie, rather than thwarted them. |
